OPTOELECTRONIC COMPONENT
The glove incorporates pull tabs on the posterior side of the digit sleeves. The pull tabs are located adjacent the distal tip of the digit sleeves, approximately positioned on the sleeve over where the wearer's fingernail would be within the sleeve. The pull tabs extend from the posterior surface of the digit sleeves enough to be grasped by a wearer's opposite hand or gripped in the wearer's teeth to assist in doffing the glove with little exposure to the anterior contact surfaces of the glove and without interfering with the functionality of the glove or wearer.
This invention relates generally to a glove, in particular, gloves having a pull tab extending from the distal posterior side of the digit sleeves.
BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONTight fitting gloves, particularly tactical shooting gloves, are difficult to doff and pull from the hand. Gloves often have pull tabs and loops that assist in donning the gloves, but these pull tabs and loops are generally located near the glove cuffs. Doffing tight fitting gloves using pull tabs and loops designed for donning the gloves is generally ineffective. Wearer often resorts to grasping and pulling the distal ends of the finger sleeves with their opposite hand or their teeth, which heightens the wearer's exposure to the dirt, debris and biological hazards accumulated on the gloves.
The gloves of this invention incorporate pull tabs on the posterior side of the digit sleeves.
The above described features and advantages, as well as others, will become more readily apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art by reference to the following detailed description and accompanying drawings.
The present invention may take form in various system and method components and arrangement of system and method components. The drawings are only for purposes of illustrating exemplary embodiments and are not to be construed as limiting the invention. The drawings illustrate the present invention, in which:
In the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments, reference is made to the accompanying drawings that form a part hereof, and in which is shown by way of illustration specific preferred embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. These embodiments are described in sufficient detail to enable those skilled in the art to practice the invention, and it is understood that other embodiments may be utilized and that logical, structural, mechanical, electrical, and chemical changes may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. To avoid detail not necessary to enable those skilled in the art to practice the invention, the description may omit certain information known to those skilled in the art. The following detailed description is, therefore, not to be taken in a limiting sense, and the scope of the present invention is defined only by the appended claims.
The gloves of this invention may take any suitable form or style as desired, and are designed and intended to tightly fit the user's hand and yet be flexible to ensure full dexterity. The gloves are made using conventional construction methods and materials. The gloves are typically constructed from leathers, fabrics and materials selected for durability and light weight, comfort, touch, stretch and dexterity. The body of the gloves are fashioned from component parts sewn or joined together. Those component parts may include tranks, digit parts, fourchettes, gussets, sockets, domes, straps, rollers, points, quirks and vents as desired dependent on the desired style and size of the gloves. Typically, the component parts of the gloves are assembled, joined and sewn together and/or otherwise fashioned using conventional methods and equipment.
Referring now to the drawings,
As shown, the posterior side of the middle finger sleeve includes a raised pull tab 140. Pull tab 140 is located adjacent the distal tip of the middle finger sleeve 130, approximately positioned on the sleeve over where the wearer's fingernail would be within the sleeve. Pull tab 140 extends laterally across the posterior tip of the middle finger sleeve 130 perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve. As shown best in
The construction of pull tab 140 with the tacked overlapping material, allows the pull tab to be soft and pliable. Pull tab 140 extends from the posterior surface of finger sleeve 130 enough to be grasped by a wearer's opposite hand or gripped in the wearer's teeth to assist in doffing glove 100 and without interfering with the functionality of glove 100 or wearer. In use, the wearer grasps pull tab 140 with the opposite hand or grips the pull tab with the teeth to pull finger sleeves 130 from the wearer's hand. The use of pull tab 140 improves the ease of doffing glove 100 while allowing the wearer to avoid contact or interference with the anterior surface of the finger sleeves, which helps limit exposure to dirt, debris and biological hazards.
While glove 100 only incorporates pull tab 140 on the middle finger sleeve, pull tabs can be included on the other digit sleeves, including the thumb sleeve, in alternative embodiments. In addition, the pull tabs may take the form of a plastic or rubber tab bonded or joined to the posterior of the finger sleeves in other embodiments. Further, the pull tabs may be coated or impregnated with anti-bacterial and sterilization agents and the like to reduce wearer exposure to biological hazards. The form, shape and configuration of the pull tabs may also vary in other embodiments within the teachings of this invention.
It should be apparent from the foregoing that an invention having significant advantages has been provided. While the invention is shown in only a few of its forms, it is not just limited but is susceptible to various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit thereof. The embodiment of the present invention herein described and illustrated is not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise form disclosed. It is presented to explain the invention so that others skilled in the art might utilize its teachings. The embodiment of the present invention may be modified within the scope of the following claims.
