DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 7 thereof, a new reel device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 7, the support reel assembly 10 generally comprises a first bracket 12 has a planar portion 14 and a mounting portion 16, and the planar portion 14 can be mounted to a wall 18 of a building 20. The building 20 may be a house or commercial building that is under construction and the wall 18 may be an exterior wall of the building 20. The mounting portion 16 is oriented perpendicular to the planar portion 14. In this way the mounting portion 16 lies on a horizontal plane when the planar portion 14 is mounted to the wall 18 of the building 20.

The planar portion 14 has a front surface 22, a back surface 24 and a perimeter edge 26 extending between the front surface 22 and the back surface 24. The perimeter edge 26 has a top side 28 and a bottom side 30, and the planar portion 14 is elongated between the top side 28 and the bottom side 30. The mounting portion 16 has a top surface 32, a bottom surface 34 and an outer edge 36 extending between the top surface 32 and the bottom surface 34, and the outer edge 36 has a back side 38, a front side 40 and a first lateral side 42. The back side 38 is coupled to the front surface 22 of the planar portion 14 such that each of the top surface 32 and the bottom surface 34 lies on a plane that is oriented perpendicular to the front surface 22. The mounting portion 16 is centrally positioned between the top side 28 and the bottom side 30 of the perimeter edge 26 of the planar portion 14.

The mounting portion 16 has a pole hole 44 extending through the top surface 32 and the bottom surface 34, and the pole hole 44 is positioned closer to the front side 40 than the back side 38. The mounting portion 16 has a first chain hole 46 extending through the top surface 32 and the bottom surface 34. The first chain hole 46 is positioned closer to the back side 38 than the front side 40, and the first chain hole 46 is positioned adjacent to the first lateral side 42. The first bracket 12 includes a pair of first gussets 48 and each of the first gussets 48 extends between the bottom surface 34 of the mounting portion 16 and the front surface 22 of the planar portion 14. In this way each of the first gussets 48 retains the mounting portion 16 in a perpendicular orientation with the planar portion 14.

The planar portion 14 has a set of first mounting holes 50 each extending through the front surface 22 and the back surface 24 of the planar portion 14. Each of the first mounting holes 50 can have a fastener, such as a screw or other type of construction fastener, extended therethrough to engage the wall 18 having the back surface 24 abutting the wall 18. The first mounting holes 50 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed between the mounting portion 16 and the top side 28 of the perimeter edge 26 of the planar portion 14. The planar portion 14 has a set of second mounting holes 52 each extending through the front surface 22 and the back surface 24 of the planar portion 14. Each of the second mounting holes 52 can have a fastener, such as a screw or other type of construction fastener, extended therethrough to engage the wall 18. The second mounting holes 52 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed between the mounting portion 16 and the bottom side 30 of the perimeter edge 26 of the planar portion 14.

A second bracket 54 is provided that has a first portion 56 which is oriented perpendicular to a second portion 58 such that the first portion 56 can be mounted to the wall 18 having the second portion 58 lying on a horizontal plane. The second bracket 54 is aligned with the first bracket 12 when each of the first bracket 12 and the second bracket 54 are mounted to the wall 18. The first portion 56 has a forward surface 60, a rear surface 62 and an outside edge 64 extending between the forward surface 60 and the rear surface 62, and the outside edge 64 has an upper side 66, a lower side 68 and a first sidelong side 70. The second portion 58 has an upper surface 72 and a lower surface 74, the upper surface 72 lies on a plane that is oriented perpendicular to the forward surface 60 and the second portion 58 is aligned with the lower side 68 of the outside edge 64.

The first portion 56 has a plurality of mounting holes 76 each extending through the forward surface 60 and the rear surface 62. Each of the mounting holes 76 in the first portion 56 can have a fastener, such as a screw or other type of construction fastener, extended therethrough to engage the wall 18 having the rear surface 62 abutting the wall 18. The mounting holes 76 in the first portion 56 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed between the second portion 58 and the upper side 66 of the outside edge 64. The second bracket 54 includes a pair of second gussets 78 and each of the second gussets 78 extends between the forward surface 60 of the first portion 56 and the upper surface 72 of the second portion 58. The second portion 58 has a second chain hole 80 extending through the upper surface 72 and the lower surface 74.

A first bubble level 82 is coupled to the second bracket 54 and the first bubble level 82 is oriented to extend along a horizontal axis when the second bracket 54 is mounted to the wall 18. In this way the first bubble level 82 facilitates the second bracket 54 to be leveled along a vertical axis when the second bracket 54 is mounted to the wall 18. The first bubble level 82 is positioned on the forward surface 60 of the first portion 56 of the second bracket 54, and the first bubble level 82 is positioned to extend along the lower side 68 of the outside edge 64 of the second portion 58. The first bubble level 82 may be liquid filled bubble level of any conventional design.

A second bubble level 84 is coupled to the second bracket 54 and the second bubble level 84 is oriented to extend along a vertical axis when the second bracket 54 is mounted to the wall 18. In this way the second bubble level 84 facilitates the second bracket 54 to be leveled along a horizontal axis when the second bracket 54 is mounted to a roof of the building 20, for example, or other non horizontal surface. The second bubble level 84 is positioned on the forward surface 60 of the first portion 56 of the second bracket 54, and the second bubble level 84 is positioned to extend along the first sidelong side 70 of the outside edge 64 of the second portion 58. The second bubble level 84 may be a liquid filled bubble level of any conventional design.

A pole 86 is coupled to and extends away from the second portion 58 of the second bracket 54. A roll of vapor barrier 88 can be positioned around the pole 86 thereby facilitating the roll of vapor barrier 88 to be drawn along the wall 18 for installation on the wall 18 when the second bracket 54 is mounted to the wall 18. The roll of vapor barrier 88 may be a sheet of plastic, foil, paper or any other type of vapor barrier that is commonly employed in the construction industry. The pole 86 engages the mounting portion 16 of the first bracket 12 when the first bracket 12 is mounted to the wall 18. The pole 86 has a distal end 89 with respect to the second portion 58 of the second bracket 54. The distal end 89 is insertable through the pole hole 44 in the mounting portion 16 of the first bracket 12 when each of the first bracket 12 and the second bracket 54 are mounted to the wall 18. Additionally, the pole 86 may have a length of at least 11.0 feet to facilitate the pole 86 to accommodate the height of the roll of vapor barrier 88.

A chain 90 is attached between the first bracket 12 and the second bracket 54 such that the chain 90 inhibits the first bracket 12 from moving beyond a predetermined distance from the second bracket 54. The chain 90 has a first end 92 and a second end 94, and a first cap 96 is attached to the first end 92. The first end 92 of the chain 90 extends through the first chain hole 46 in the first bracket 12. Moreover, the first cap 96 has a diameter that is greater than the diameter of the first chain hole 46 to inhibit the chain 90 from being pulled downwardly through the first chain hole 46. A second cap 98 is attached to the second end 94 and the second end 94 of the chain 90 extends through the second chain hole 80 in the second bracket 54. The second cap 98 has a diameter that is greater than the diameter of the second chain hole 80 to inhibit the chain 90 from being pulled upwardly through the second chain hole 80.

In use, the second bracket 54 is mounted to the wall 18 at a location sufficiently high on the wall 18 to accommodate the height of the vapor barrier 88. Additionally, each of the first bubble level 82 and the second bubble level 84 are employed to facilitate the pole 86 to be oriented in a plumb orientation with respect to a vertical axis or a horizontal axis, depending on whether the vapor barrier 88 is being applied to a wall or a roof. The roll of vapor barrier 88 is slid onto the pole 86, the second bracket 54 is slid onto the distal end 89 of the pole 86 and the second bracket 54 is mounted to the wall 18. In this way the vapor can be drawn lengthwise along the wall 18 to facilitate the vapor barrier 88 to be installed on the wall 18. Thus, a single installer can easily install the vapor barrier 88 on the wall 18.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
