PRIORITY CLAIM

This non-provisional application claims priority to and the benefit of Indian Patent Application No. 202211030985, filed May 30, 2022, which is incorporated entirely herein as if restated in full.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates a smoking device. Specifically, the present invention relates to a tobacco smoking device. More specifically, the present invention relates to field of hookahs.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In today's culture hookah is most widely used in the relaxing parties whether small gathering parties or community parties. Hookah is also widely used at domestic level as well as at commercial level by cafes/bars/restaurants.

While setting up a hookah, dismantling, cleaning and assembling is required each time it is used. A typical hookah is very complicated in its design and has several components e. g. hookah base, down stem, stem heart, stem, coal tray, bowl's stem, bowl, purge valve, hose connecter, hose and hose handle. A perfectly assembled hookah requires its components are fixed air tightly. These components are air tight fitted with each other using various rubber spacers. Due to complicated design and its several components; dismantling, cleaning and assembling makes it a tedious and time-consuming process. Further, release of oily tar results in deposits of tar and oily/particulate debris everywhere in the hookah, complete removal of which is impossible due to its complicated design. Incomplete cleaning also results into flavor overlapping upon repeated use. Further, deposit of such oily tar and chemical products due to chemical degradations of tar also raise an alarm towards health as inhalation of tar and its chemical degradation is mainly behind the cause of cancer. Further, oily tar deposits loosen fittings of its components, especially the rubber spacers and needs frequent replacement, which ultimately increases operational cost.

Hookah base, hookah bowl assembly and stem heart are the most complicated component in their design which hamper the cleaning and functionality. Wide bottom and narrower neck of hookah base make its cleaning difficult and facilitate oily tar residue deposits in it. Further the hearth stem along with purge valve and hose connecter is also very complicated in its design and makes it difficult to be cleaned. Hookah base comprising wide perforated bowl-shaped upper portion which turns into a lower narrower tube portion makes hookah bowl difficult to clean which ultimately allows oily tar residue to deposit inside it. The rubber spacers also need replacements very frequently due to oily tar deposits and loosen their fitting with time. Further, soda glass is most widely used in manufacturing of hookah base present in the market; therefore, cleaning and chemical leaching are additional draw backs associated with such hookah base.

The complicated design of hookah apparatus makes its dismantling, cleaning and reassembling tedious and time-consuming irrespective of the use whether domestic use of commercial use. However, in case of commercial use, complicated design and its tedious setting up process (dismantling, cleaning and reassembling) decrease efficiency and raise the operational cost of hookahs. Further, it bars repeated use of hookah to certain extent due to frequent intermittent dismantling, cleaning and reassembling. Incomplete cleaning also cause disturbance between molasses due to flavor overlapping. Further, deposit of such oily tar and its chemical degradations during repeated use also raise an alarm towards health as consumption of tar and its chemical degradation is mainly behind the cause of cancer. Ultimately, there is an urgent need of a hookah apparatus which is devoid of drawbacks of above-mentioned existing hookah apparatus and can provide cost effective solution.

Therefore, the inventor of the present invention has come up with an innovative apparatus which is devoid of above-mentioned drawbacks such as complicated design, tedious setting up (dismantling, cleaning and reassembling). Further, the innovative hookah apparatus disclosed herein comprises minimum components resulting in quick setting up (dismantling, cleaning and reassembling), minimal replacement of its components and overall lower operational cost. Moreover, the hookah apparatus of the present invention has cleaning friendly which facilitate complete cleaning quickly results in eliminating flavor overlapping, and health hazards arising out of oily tar deposits and its chemical degradation.

The design of the hookah base (200) disclosed here is innovated in such a manner that the dismantling, cleaning and reassembling of the hookah apparatus is made easy. The tubular body of the hookah base (200) allows the user to clean it using any ordinary cleaning devices used for cylindrical vessels. Further, the material, preferably borosilicate glass makes the hookah base (200) to be washed easily removing oily tar and other particulate debris. The tubular openings (240, 250) protruding out from the surface of the tubular body (210) also makes the hookah base easy to clean, first by eliminating the need of separate stem heart which is otherwise very complicated in its design, then by allowing the user to clean the tubular openings (240, 250) without any additional hassle with ordinary cleaning devices.

II. Working of the Hookah Apparatus (10)

The hookah apparatus (10) is assembled by fitting the hookah bowl assembly (100) on the top of the hookah base (200) as shown in the FIG. 2. Other essential components such as purging valve, hose, coal holder etc. are also connected to the hookah apparatus (10) before its use. The pocket (P) is filled with the material to be smoked and lit with coal. The pocket (P1) is filled with suitable filtration liquid in such a manner that the purging vent (PV) and the hose connecter (HC) works uninterruptedly. The down stem is positioned into the liquid in such a manner that when a suction is applied through the pipe connected to hose connecter (HC) the smoke gets filtered from the liquid.

Once the hookah apparatus (10) is set up with all essential components, the user can use the hookah. When the user apply suction through the hose handle, a negative pressure is built up in the tubular body (210). Such negative pressure results into a pull of air stream comprising smoke from the hookah bowl assembly (100) (through the hookah bowl (110) passing through the tubular base (120) and down stem (130)), filtered through the filtration liquid and reaches to the tubular body (210). The filtered smoke is consumed by the user and the positive pressure build up in the tubular body (210) or unconsumed smoke is released through the purging vent (240) through purging valve.
