Credit card reader with fingerprint recognition system
An electronic security system and credit, debit, and ID card format to be used on electronic cash registers and automated transaction machines for the positive identification of the user based on his fingerprint. The credit card reader with fingerprint recognition system comprises of an information screen, pushbutton numeric pad, credit card scanner slot, and an infrared fingerprint scanning screen. When a card is scanned, it accesses files stored of the cardholder's fingerprint which can be automatically matched to the user once they press their finger onto the infrared fingerprint scanning screen. If the two prints match, then the card may be used at that time. This greatly reduces the chances of credit card fraud as well as adds privacy and convenience to users who no longer must carry picture ID with them to verify that they are the card holder.
