A high pressure tank containing a non-flammable gas such as helium is at least partially embedded in the grain. A conduit leads from the tank into the container, such that the high pressure gas pressurizes the container and urges the liquid propellant component to flow from the container into the combustion chamber. The tank provides internal structural support for the grain, with the wall of the combustion chamber constituting a safety barrier in the event of structural failure of the tank after the tank is filled with high pressure gas.

    Abstract: Heretofore, soot particles are removed from exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine by means of a ceramic filter, which must periodically be replaced, namely, each time it is used up. The new apparatus is to remove soot particles continually from the exhaust gases without diminishing the filtering action. In a two-part casing there are provided for the exhaust gases, in a first casing half with the inlet and in a second casing half with the outlet, a first deflector chamber for the exhaust gases. In the first casing half there is located a quiescent zone for the exhaust gases and--surrounded by the two casing halves--a heating system which is flown through three times by the exhaust gases. The apparatus produces a strong combustion of the soot particles present in the exhaust gases and is not subject to any exhaustion, since it does not store soot particles but burn the same as much as possible.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for detecting abnormality in a secondary air supplier of an engine. The operational status of the engine is monitored by various sensors. When the engine is in a warmed-up state, an electronic control unit (ECU) disables the secondary air supplier to stop secondary air from being supplied to an exhaust manifold. When the engine is in such an operational status in which the secondary air should be supplied, the secondary air supplier is activated and a fuel supplying means is controlled in such a way that a suction air-fuel ratio is forcibly adjusted to a predetermined high value so as to set an exhaust air-fuel ratio low when the secondary air supplier functions properly and set the exhaust air-fuel ratio high when the secondary air supplier is abnormal. When the exhaust air-fuel ratio is detected to be high, the ECU judges the secondary air supplier as abnormal and executes necessary processing, such as outputting an abnormality judgment signal to an external warning device.

The thermostatically self-regulating mechanism automatically adjusts the cross-sectional area of the adjustable valve orifice in response to environmental temperature changes and changes in power dissipated at a cold head.

A key is insertable into the aperture of the top wall of the body and through the aperture of code element into the lock to effect its rotation.
