Patent number: 5771490Abstract: An air isolation hand covering has a bladder consisting of a plurality of interconnected or independent inflation cells that is positioned between the hand and a hand-held tool or other vibrating object. The cells are oriented to permit easy bending of the hand covering in directions appropriate for grasping an object. The effectiveness of the bladder in reducing the vibration energy transmitted to the hand is a function of the shape and configuration of the bladder, the pressure in the bladder, the compressible fluid used, the volume of the bladder, and the grip force and push force used when clasping a tool or other object. The bladder can be filled with air or other fluid during the fabrication of the bladder or it can be inflated or deflated with a small pump and integral air valve connected to one of the air cavities.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1995Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Assignee: Ergoair Inc.Inventors: Douglas D. Patent number: 5771496Abstract: A repair patch for worn or damaged garment pockets in accordance with this invention comprises a pocket-like member corresponding substantially in size and configuration to the lowermost portion of a pocket to be repaired. Substantially the entire outer surfaces of the repair patch contains a heat sensitive glue capable of being activated at such time as the patch has been inserted into the lowermost portion of the pocket to be repaired. The heat sensitive glue, when activated by heat and pressure applied from the exterior of the pocket, serves to retain the patch securely in position within the lowermost portion of the pocket. Significantly, the patch has an interiorly-turned seam, which seam is reinforced by the glue that had been applied to the exterior surfaces of the patch. The glue-reinforced seam is disposed along an interior outer edge of the patch, such positioning of the seam having been achieved by turning the patch inside out after the seam had been created.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1993Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Inventor: Donald G. Patent number: 5771524Abstract: Multilayer disposable pads for use as wipes or applicators in various applications, including the cosmetics and personal care fields and the medical field. The pads include an absorbent base pad, an impervious barrier layer attached to the base pad, and a flexible handle attached to the barrier layer in a selective attachment area to define a handle attached portion and at least one handle graspable portion. The barrier layer may be attached to the base pad by being coated over the base pad without the use of adhesives, including being fused to the base pad when they are both made of a thermoplastic material. The handle attached portion may be fused to the barrier layer in an ultrasonic bonding process, again without the use of adhesive.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 1996Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Assignee: M.J. Patent number: 5771525Abstract: A device for recreating knockdown patterns on walls, ceilings and surfaces. The device includes approximately six foam prong fingers having exposed lengths of approximately 1/4 to 1 and 1/2 inches long arranged in a bundle, and approximately 1/4 to approximately 2 inches in diameter. One end to bundle is cinched and held within a hand grip allowing the opposite end to form a splay pattern. Including the cinch portion each of the foam prongs can be approximately 1 to 3 inches in length. The outer exposed ends of the bundle can have flat perpendicular cuts and sliced forty five degree angled cuts. An optional extension pole allows the device to be used in hard to reach areas.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1996Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Inventors: Paula C. Fulcher, Donald L. Fulcher

Patent number: 5771527Abstract: An adjusting lever pivoted on the attachment part moves during operation of the windshield wiper along a cam of a fixed rocker arm and thus pivots the contact spring to vary the force with which the wiper blade is pressed against the windshield being cleaned as a function of the particular wiper angle. The section of the adjusting lever on the rocker arm side has a fork-like design in which each fork leg rests upon an axially positioned cam of the rocker arm.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 1997Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Assignee: ITT Automotive Europe GmbHInventors: Thomas Blachetta, Bruno Egner-Walter, Harro Buhl

Patent number: 5771528Abstract: An assembly for removing debris from the feet of persons and having the capability of cleaning the collected debris, comprises a housing extending along a longitudinal axis thereof and ending in a first and an opposite second end. A drive roller is mounted for rotational movement at the first end of the housing and is disposed perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis. A driven roller is mounted for rotation on the second end of the housing and is disposed perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis thereof. A means is associated with the driven roller and the housing second end for slide in connection and slide out removal of the driven roller with the housing. An endless loop carpet is trained about each of the drive and driven rollers and extends in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis, the endless loop carpet having an upper run and a lower run, the upper run being supported substantially by an upper plate supported by the housing.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1996Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Inventor: John J. Patent number: 5771529Abstract: A connection device between a suction pipe and a vacuum cleaning unit, the unit having a closing flap (5) displaceable between an open position and a closed position at the suction inlet of the unit by using a control member (11) as well as a component for locking the nozzle (20) to the suction unit. The suction unit is a vacuum cleaner having a dust bag (1), the closing flap (5) being arranged on the bag (1), and a control member (11) cooperating with the nozzle (20) by means of a cooperation device so that the locking of the nozzle (20) is possible as soon as the flap (5) is in its open position. Application to vacuum cleaners with disposable bags.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1996Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Assignee: SEB S.A.Inventors: Fran.cedilla.ois Brule, Pierre Kerboas

Patent number: 5771530Abstract: An empty shell casing retrieval system has a metal detector and retrieval system. The metal detector has a metal detector having a metal detecting coil and a readout gauge and an on/off switch. A hollow tube has a metal detecting coil attached to one end portion thereof and the readout gauge and on/off switch attached to the other end of the hollow tube. A collection container is attached to the hollow tube for collecting metal pieces being drawn through the hollow tube and a vacuum cleaner or other vacuum source is attached to the hollow tube for placing a negative pressure in the tube to draw pieces of detected metal into the hollow tube and collection container. The tube has a plenum in one end having a separation screen therein for preventing metal pieces from entering the vacuum source. The metal detector readout gauge and switch are mounted remotely on the plenum and the handle has a vacuum on/off switch attached thereto.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1997Date of Patent: June 30, 1998Inventor: Reinaldo Rodriquez
