Abstract: A razor which actively flexes at least one, and preferably a plurality of skin-engaging elements during shaving to follow the contours of a skin surface. One preferred razor comprises a support and a pair of rotating pivots movably connected to the support. Each rotating pivot contacts separate portions of a razor head. Shaving forces exerted on a first razor head portion in a first direction will cause the rotating pivot to move a second razor head portion in a second direction which is different from the first direction. The razor also comprises means for biasing the rotating pivots to a neutral position. In one embodiment, the support comprises a pivot assembly to which the rotating pivots are connected thereby providing another degree of movement to the rotating pivots relative to the support.

  • Patent number: 5813124
Abstract: An angle measuring device used for measuring the pendulum angle of a cable of a lifting device comprising connection components which utilize measurement value pick-ups and are connected via a cardanic-type joint to axles which are arranged at right angles to one another. To attain high precision of discrimination in measurement, the measurement value pick-ups each comprises a Hall sensor and an associated magnetic element to create a magnetic field detectable by the Hall sensor. An angle of measurement can be attained if the lower connection component is swung and causes a shift in the joint ball around the axle. This results in a change in the position of the magnets relative to the Hall sensors. This change in position results in a change in the detected Hall voltage which after appropriate adjustment can be transformed into an angle measurement.

  • Patent number: 5813131
Abstract: The invention comprises a pair of telescopic sight mount aligning bars. Each bar comprises an elongated rod having a planar circular inner end bounded by a circular peripheral edge. The circular inner ends of the two bars are perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of their respective bars, and the inner ends of the two bars have substantially identical diameters and peripheral edges so that the two inner ends may be closely juxtaposed when used to align, and to check the alignment of, a telescopic sight mount. Consequently, a telescopic sight mount misalignment will be revealed by a misalignment of the peripheral edges relative to one another and also will be revealed by a non-parallelity between the two inner ends.

  • Patent number: 5813132
Abstract: A device that is simply pulled down to touch the head of a child to quickly and accurately determine their height, employs a special extendable and retractable measuring tape that is wall mounted at a specific height over the floor and stays up and out of the normal reach of a small child when not in use. Reading is direct from the tape pulled from a holder. The numbering system of the tape of this device is reversed from tapes conventionally used to measure length, by having the highest number of measurement located at the outer end and decreasing incrementally toward a zero reading nearest the end secured within the holder. The device is properly mounted by extending the tape to the zero reading and securing it at a height on the wall that allows the device, with the tape so extended, to touch the floor directly below it.
