    Abstract: A vacuum cleaner has an electric motor driving an air impeller that creates low pressure inside the tank of the vacuum cleaner. The motor also drives a pump impeller which is located in the tank and draws liquid material from the bottom of the tank and expels it from the tank. Near an inlet to the pump is a priming mechanism having bellows which are compressed to force liquid material up into the pump. Portions of the pump, including the inlet and the outlet as well as the priming mechanism, are attached to a tank extension which fits over the top of the tank. The lid of the vacuum cleaner, which carries the motor and air impeller, fits over the tank extension when the vacuum cleaner is used for liquid material. The tank extension and its associated pump components are removable from the tank to facilitate use of the vacuum cleaner on dry material.

The bristles extend along opposing sides of a lower surface of the head in strips at either side of a channel through which dust and debris gathered up by the bristles passes into the vacuum body. The off-set plane means that when the body is held directly or by a handle, a natural comfortable sweeping action, with the handle axis at about 20.degree. to the vertical, keeps both strips of bristle in contact with the swept surface.

The liner is held in place against an extending internal ledge of the body by a removable cap.     Abstract: A watchband securing device includes a variable length rod extending between opposed watch case horns. One of the horns is pivotally connected to the watch case and one end of the rod is connected to the pivotable horn. This enables the rod to pivot laterally between open and closed positions away from and towards the watch case, respectively. After a watchband is threaded on the rod in the open position, the rod is rotated towards the closed position until the opposite end of the rod engages the opposed horn. A camming surface is provided between the rod and the opposed horn that causes the rod to be shortened against a spring force as it engages the opposed horn so that it can become aligned with a bore hole in the opposed horn and engage the borehole by the spring force extending the rod length. To release the rod from the opposed horn, a manual push piece is provided to enable manual shortening of the rod so that it clears the borehole and releases the rod for pivotal motion towards the open position.

    Abstract: A chain saw having a guard member supported above the chain of the saw. The guard is supported by support members at the first and second ends of the chain guide. At the first end of the chain guide the blade is swingably supported and is swingable through a range from a position parallel to the chain guide to a position normal to the chain guide. At the second end of the chain guide the guard bar is releasably supported to hold the guard bar in a guard position parallel to the chain guide and to release the guard bar to swing out of the way when a work piece is being cut.

Vertical frame and jamb members opposite the hinge are tapered to prevent binding during opening and closing. A locking mechanism is attached to the jamb to lock the jamb and frame in the closed position. Operating the locking mechanism causes the jamb to swing away from the frame like a door to provide an opening for escape.
