  • Patent number: 6209159
Abstract: A pressure reducing cushion with selective pressure point relief features at least two air bladders, and a foam outer layer covering the air bladders. Each air bladder consists of an impervious to air sheet material which surrounds an open celled compressible foam material. Attached to the air bladder is an air flow tube and attached to the air flow tube is a flow control element. When the flow control element is open air from the atmosphere is able to communicate with the interior of the open celled compressible foam material through the air flow tube in combination with the flow control element. The open celled compressible foam material is of such a characteristic that once it is deformed it tends to regain its original shape, thus filling the air bladder with air, if the flow control element is open.

  • Patent number: 6209169
Abstract: A vacuum-cleaner nozzle has a housing forming a turbine compartment and a brush compartment and having opening into the turbine compartment an outlet adapted for connection to a fan input and a slot opening into the brush compartment. A brush rotatable in the brush compartment has bristles projecting from the slot. A turbine in the turbine compartment is oriented such that air flow from the slot to the outlet rotates the turbine. A drive or transmission couples the turbine to the brush for rotating the brush when the turbine rotates. A button is displaceable on the housing between an outer position and an inner position and a spring urges the button into the outer position. A link between the button and the drive arrests rotation of the brush on displacement of the button into the outer position. • Patent number: 6209191
Abstract: A disk material is plastic-formed to form an inner cylindrical portion of a rotor and a cover member which covers an end side of the rotor. After that, the disk material is slit inwardly from an outside thereof in a radial direction of the disk material to form an outer cylindrical portion of the rotor and a pulley corresponding portion which will be the pulley. Finally, the pulley corresponding portion is plastic-formed to form a pulley groove. Thereby, even when the location of the pulley relative to the outer cylindrical portion are different, same processes can be applied to these different type pulley integrated rotors until the disk material is slit. That is, many different type pulley integrated type rotors can be manufactured with low cost while maintaining high concentric accuracy between the pulley and the rotor.

  • Patent number: 6209195
Abstract: A surface mount connector that can be used for both single and double-sided PWB's. A telephone may have a printed wiring board with connector access from the bottom of the telephone and keypad activation from the top of the telephone. If a double-sided PWB is used, the connector is mounted to the bottom side of the PWB, while the keypad is mounted to the top of the PWB. The connector faces away from the PWB to provide access from below the telephone. If a single-sided PWB is used, the connector is mounted to the top side of the PWB, so that the keypad can also be mounted to the top side. The connector is placed, with connector access down, into an opening through the PWB. The connector extends down through the opening in the PWB with the leads of the connector remaining on the top side of the PWB. The leads of the connector are secured to pads on the top side of the PWB.

  • Patent number: 6209196
Abstract: A method of mounting bumped electronic components without using a flux during the solder joining process, which is low in cost and offers high reliability of the assembly. Resin adhesive 4 containing filler particles 4a is applied to a board 1 formed with electrodes 2, and a bumped electronic component 5 is mounted onto the board 1 to press the bumps 7 of the electronic component 5 against the electrodes 2 of the board 1. As a result, the oxide films 7a over the surfaces of the solder bumps 7 are broken by the filler particles 4a present in a gap between the lower ends of the solder bumps 7 and the surfaces of the electrodes 2, thus exposing the solder. This process eliminates the need for using the flux when the solder bumps 7 are melted and soldered to the electrodes 2, and therefore the cleaning process after soldering is not required, assuring high reliability of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 6209198
Abstract: A method and fixture assembly for assisting in the matching and assembly of components of a variable stator vane assembly of a gas turbine engine. The method generally entails a stator vane configured to be assembled to a casing with a spacer. The vane has a surface at a perimeter thereof and a seat offset from the surface. The spacer to which the vane is to be assembled has first and second surfaces offset relative to each other, the first surface being adapted to engage the seat of the vane and the second surface adapted to face the surface of the vane. The vane is installed within an opening in the casing so that a first sealing member is between the casing and the vane, the casing is between the first sealing member and a second sealing member, and the seat extends through the opening. A fixture is then mounted to the vane so that the casing and the first and second sealing members are clamped between the fixture and the vane under a load.
