Abstract: A new and distinct variety of landscape shrub rose plant is provided which forms in abundance on a substantially continuous basis attractive single blossoms that are red in coloration. The vegetation is vigorous and the growth habit is round and bushy. Attractive ornamental satiny green foliage is formed. Excellent disease resistance to blackspot is exhibited. Additionally, the new variety is particularly well suited for growing as distinctive ornamentation in the landscape.

Abstract: A hardfacing composition comprises at least 60% by weight of hard metal granules including a quantity of sintered carbide pellets and a quantity of cast carbide pellets. The cast and sintered carbides are selected from the group of carbides consisting of chromium, molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, titanium, tungsten, and vanadium carbides and alloys and mixtures thereof. The balance of the hardfacing composition is matrix metal with traces of flux or deoxidizer, and alloying elements. All percentages given are pre-application ratios.

Abstract: An induced draft, fuel-fired furnace having a heat exchanger with an inlet and an outlet includes a vent having an inlet, a burner, and a vented vestibule in fluid communication with the vent. A blower has an inlet in fluid communication with the heat exchanger outlet, and an outlet disposed at the inlet of the vent. The blower outlet has a cross-sectional area smaller than the vent inlet. The vent inlet and blower outlet define a vent inlet opening. A drafthood formed with an inlet is disposed in the vestibule and forms a plenum in fluid communication with the vent inlet opening. A source of combustion products is disposed in the furnace such that combustion products produced thereby are in fluid communication with the drafthood inlet and vent inlet opening. The source of combustion products includes either a standing pilot or electronic ignitor for igniting fuel operably discharged from the burner.

Abstract: A display pack having a rotatable security member includes a board and the rotatable security member wherein the board has a first hole and a second hole respectively defined therein and an inverted U-shaped frame extends perpendicularly from a front surface of the board with the second hole being located between two extending portions of the inverted U-shaped frame. The second hole has a toothed inner periphery and the rotatable security member includes a polygonal head and a shank which has a flange extending from a free end thereof and a toothed periphery defined in an outer periphery near the flange so that the rotatable security member is rotatably inserted into the second hole with the toothed inner periphery engaged with the toothed inner periphery. A ratchet tool is engaged with the rotatable security member and can be operated within a limited angle between the two extending portions of the frame.

Abstract: A signal conditioning system that receives inputs from at least one pair of conductors connected to its input. Each such input is processed by an input filter and presented to a buffer amplifier. Each such input filter and buffer amplifier refers to and is powered by independent power sources whose power return reference potentials are independently determined by the potential of the corresponding input signal potential reference conductor for the signal frequencies of interest. The outputs of all such buffer amplifiers, the power return reference potentials, and the power return reference potential of the conditioning circuit output are all appropriately added or subtracted in the next circuit stage. This circuit stage consists of an amplifier buffer having low output impedance which is powered by another independent power source whose power return reference potential is independently determined by the potential of the output signal reference conductor.

Abstract: A system for broadcasting audio music and broadcasting lyrics for display and highlighting substantially simultaneously with the occurrence of the lyrics in the accompanying audio music is provided. The system includes a an audio music source that provides a data output and a an analog audio signal output. A computer receives the data output by the music source and generates lyric text data and lyric timing commands. A subcarrier generator generates a subcarrier signal carrying the lyric text data and lyric timing commands. An FM transmitter broadcasts a composite signal that combines the analog output of the music source with the subcarrier signal. A lyric display unit receives the composite signal, separates and decodes the subcarrier signal and displays and highlights lyrics according to the lyric text data and lyric timing commands decoded from the subcarrier signal.

Abstract: An energy absorbing exercising and training machine for exercising a person's ability to accelerate a portion of his body through a path of motion. The machine comprises a flywheel rotatably connected to a frame by means of a pair of journal bearings. A harness assembly is provided for connection to the portion of the person's body to be exercised. The flywheel and the harness assembly are interconnected to allow the flywheel to rigidly engage relative to the harness assembly upon acceleration of the harness assembly relative to the flywheel in a first direction along a path of motion of the body portion being exercised and to also allow the flywheel to disengage and freely rotate relative to the harness assembly upon deceleration of the harness assembly relative to the flywheel.

Abstract: A method of preparing a compound or formulation having biocidal or preservative properties, or both comprises reacting an organic complexing agent, preferably a selected organic alcohol, with a borate or boric acid to produce a borate organic complex ion. The complex ion is preferably further reacted with a suitable cationic species. A compound or formulation so prepared is also claimed.

Abstract: Disposable protective garments are formed in a side-to-side orientation having a top adhesive strip extending side to side from the top of the garment and a second adhesive strip on the bottom of the garment. The garments are produced by a manufacturing process in which a roll of absorbent material is unwound, printed upon, laminated, dried and rewound, and then processed to apply the adhesive strips and dice and perforate the sheet of material to separate the sheet into individual strips of disposable protective garments separated in a side-to-side orientation by perforations.

Abstract: A strait jacket including a front panel for positioning against the chest of a wearer and a rear panel for positioning against the back of a wearer. The front panel is disguised to look like the front of a conventional jacket. The rear panel is divided into side-by-side parts and has a releasable fastener joining these parts together. A pair of tubular sleeves for receiving the arms of a wearer is joined to the front and back panels and extends therefrom. The sleeves are sewn to the front panel so that a wearer cannot raise such.

Abstract: A shirt cuff comprises a band of material having first and second opposing edges and first and second opposing ends. The first edge is attached to the sleeve of the shirt. The dimensions of the band are such that it substantially closes about the circumference of the sleeve along the first edge. Unlike conventional cuffs, the two ends of the band diverge from the first edge toward the second edge such that the two ends are substantially separated proximate to the second edge. In one embodiment, the edges are substantially straight so that there is a “V”-shaped opening in the cuff. In other embodiments, the ends of the band may have alternative shapes, but in each case there is a substantial opening in the cuff proximate to the second edge of the band. A fastener for the cuff connects the two ends of the band, spanning the opening therebetween.

Abstract: An expandable shirt collar in which the material forming at least the neckband, but preferably both the neckband and the collar, is arranged with the weave thereof on a bias so that it is stretchable in a direction parallel to the circumferential direction of the collar. The stitching that forms the seams attaching the collar to the neckband, and the neckband to the body of the shirt, may be applied in a pattern, e.g., zig-zag or skip stitching, that enables the seams to stretch in the circumferential direction of the collar.

Abstract: Golf gloves are disclosed. The golf gloves worn by a golfer while swinging a golf club comprise main fastening means consisting of first two opposite parts. The first two opposite parts are respectively fixed on both palm sides of the gloves and are attachable to each other when pressed into contact with each other. The golf gloves may further comprise auxiliary fastening means consisting of second opposite parts. The second opposite parts are respectively fixed on the side edges of the fingers of the gloves and are attachable to each other when pressed into contact with each other. The main fastening means may be fixed on the heel pad of the palm of each of said gloves. The auxiliary fastening means may be fixed on the contacted side edges of the interlaced fingers of each of the gloves. The main fastening means and the auxiliary fastening means may be Velcro fastening tapes.

Abstract: A compound protective helmet that allows easy and reliable operation of the visor. The helmet includes a bubble, a visor pivoted to the bubble, and a chin protector. A pad is provided between the bubble and the visor to allow two-stage lifting of the visor. A securing and release device is fixed in the chin protector, and includes two securing levers that are driven by a leading block and are held against a resilient element so as to be secured in grooves provided in the ear protector on both sides of the bubble. If a user wants to raise the visor, the pusher block is pushed to cause the securing levers to disengage from the grooves while lifting the visor.

Abstract: An upper body garment of stretchable thin material fits matingly over the workman's head including eyes, nose and mouth, yet allowing unobstructed vision for working with fiber glass construction materials from which the body is protected. The garment may be removed by pulling it off turning it inside out, capturing the fiber glass materials inside the garment. A lower body garment of the same material is provided.

Abstract: A portable urinal device for use in a tree stand or other elevated platform that controls both noise and odor problems associated with the urinary function. The portable urinal device includes a generally funnel-shaped container having a top end that is open and a lid hingeably mounted on the container for moving between a closed position and an open position. The lid of the portable urinal device is biased toward the closed position to facilitate use of the device with one hand in its preferred form, the lid includes a lever with a locking mechanism that engages the container to lock the lid in the open position during urination. The portable urinal device may be used with a fluid hose with one end buried underground to facilitate the disposal of urine.

Abstract: An automatic quantitative regulator for dissolvent in water tank, wherein an inverted jar is clamped on the standing rod in the water tank. An upper float ball is set in the jar mouth shrunk at the bottom, and a bottom float ball is set outside of the jar mouth. Two float balls are joined together by an inner bulgy circle of the fixing coat, and the fixing coat connects with the jar mouth. The two float balls with opposite awl-shape necks are wedged to the aperture formed by inner bulgy circle. The two float balls can be adjusted clearance. When the upper float ball is moved up, the liquid in the jar will flow out gradually. As the upper float ball is moved down, the aperture will be closed. A heavy article is connected with the bottom float ball to accelerate pulling down. Furthermore, a fixed position cup is hooked on the jar, and the bottom of the fixed position cup has a perforated colander.

Abstract: A sanitary toilet seat is provided which has an integral toilet seat covering material dispenser and disposal device. The device moves a predetermined length of sanitary seat covering material from a dispensing port to a disposal port each time a motor is activated. A pressure sensor is provided for resetting the delay timer in response to high pressure and starting the delay timer in response to low pressure. Once the manually adjustable period of delay has expired, a relay activates a motor, which starts the motion of the covering material about the toilet seat. The motor continues until it is deactivated by a micro switch after one full cycle of operation in which a predetermined length of covering material has been dispensed. A deactivation switch is provided to prevent operation when the seat lid is down, preventing the covering material from being dispensed while the toilet is being used as a seat.

Abstract: A toilet seat accessory mounted to the toilet seat cover and having a blocking device extending beyond a perimeter of the cover to block access to a flush handle of the toilet when the cover is in the raised position. A latching device on the accessory removably latches to the seat such that as the cover is moved between the raised and lowered positions, the seat is held by the opposite end of the toilet seat accessory and moves with the cover between the raised and lowered positions. The latching device has a tab connected with the latching device, whereby upon the cover and seat being in the raised position, pushing on the tab removes the latching device from the seat, thereby releasing the seat from being latched with the cover.

Abstract: There are provided a retention means (10) to be positioned in a completely hidden manner within the rear part of the pan (2), and be rigidly fixed to the floor or wall in such a manner as to be supported thereby, and a pair of arm rests (20) which each have one end fixed to the retention means (10) and are supported thereby; the pan (2) is arranged to be fixed to the floor or wall without loading the retention means (10) and vice versa, and has a pair of holes (41) provided in the vertical side walls of its rear part, through which holes the end of the arm rests (20) is fixed to the retention means (10) without loading the pan (2).

Abstract: An improved toilet bowl construction for providing access to a siphon or trap therein comprises a toilet bowl which defines an opening positioned in communication with the siphon. The toilet bowl construction further includes an annular cover member coupled to a resilient sealing member. The cover member includes a lever pivotally coupled thereto and movable by a user between a first position and a second position displaced from the first position. The lever bears against the resilient sealing member when placed in the second position. The pressure against the sealing member decreases the diameter of the sealing member such that the sealing member can be inserted into the access opening. Returning the lever to the first or non-bearing position allows the diameter of the sealing member to increase and seal tightly within the access opening. Removal of the sealing member is accomplished by again placing the lever in the second or bearing position and withdrawing the sealing member from the opening.

Abstract: In an automated flush system (10), a control circuit (12) controls a flusher (16) in response to the output of a sensor (14). The vertical sensitivity pattern (24) of the sensor (14) is angled downward. Consequently, radiation that the sensor (14) emits tends to be reflected away from the sensor (14) by relatively specular vertical enclosure surfaces such as that of a stall door (18), while more-diffuse deflectors, such as a user that the sensor (14) is intended to detect, tend to reflect greater percentages of the sensor radiation back to the sensor (14). Similarly reduced sensitivity to enclosure surfaces results from a horizontal sensitivity pattern (40) having a reduced-sensitivity central region. The sensor system can thereby more reliably avoid confusing enclosure surfaces with users, on whose detection the system's automatic flush strategy is based.

Abstract: A urine collection kit includes a flexible mounting strip positioned atop the toilet bowl rim for clamping thereto by the toilet seat. A plastic bag is attached to the mounting strip and depends into the toilet bowl upon strip clamping. Urine flow is directed towards a collection cup releasably seated within a port in the bottom of the bag. Adjacent the port are a plurality of slots and a second discharge port for passage of urine overflow therethrough to preclude urine back splash onto a seated patient. The second discharge port includes a tube depending below the cup to preclude urine flow thereon. The front portion of the bag includes additional slots allowing for a collapsed storage position.

Abstract: A device for use in a water cabinet possessing a valve which stays open until the reservoir is empty. An auxiliary reservoir (20) without bottom is placed within the main reservoir. At the base (27) is a slit opening permitting liquid communication from the base of the main reservoir. At the top of the auxiliary little reservoir is located a check valve (24) controled by a lever arm (18) which at the same time acts as the flushing arm of the toilet cabinet; the check valve (24) closes as soon as is released the lever arm (18). When the little reservoir is full and its valve is closed, even when the main reservoir is being emptied the little reservoir remains full while the main reservoir evacuates, thereby economizing a quantity of water equivalent to its volume. The lower end of the auxiliary reservoir (20) may be cut for fitting in a given water cabinet reservoir.

Abstract: A lightweight toilet unit is provided particularly for use with vehicles such as boats, RVs, and trailers. The toilet unit includes a plastic toilet bowl having an interior surface, open top, and exterior surface, a plastic body positioned exteriorly of the toilet bowl exterior surface, and a plastic toilet seat for partially closing the open top of the toilet bowl. To enhance the longevity and effectiveness of the toilet bowl without significantly increasing the cost and weight of the toilet unit, a layer, coating, or thin walled insert liner made of a non-polymeric substantially poreless material that is not degraded by contact with excrement, light, or toilet bowl cleaning agents, is disposed interiorly of the plastic toilet bowl and is at least partially supported by the plastic toilet bowl and may comprise porcelain, glazed ceramic, glass, corrosion resistant sheet metal, or sheet metal with a corrosion resistant poreless interior coating.

Abstract: A lightweight, easy to assemble spa cover kit is disclosed herein. The cover kit includes a square or rectangular-shaped overhead cap pivotally attached at two corners along one end to two dual hinged support posts. The cap is made of lightweight, weather-proof material, such as molded fiberglass, and may include skylights to allow natural light through during use. The lower end of each dual hinged support post is pivotally attached to the deck surface on which the spa sits. During use, the upper end of each dual hinged support post is pivotally attached to one comer of the cap. After the lower ends of the dual hinged support posts are attached to the deck and the upper ends of the support posts are attached to the corners of the cap, the dual hinged support posts are slowly lifted to a vertical position while the cap is slowly rotated so that it is aligned horizontally over the spa.

Abstract: A hair washing apparatus including a cistern having an opening on an upper part thereof, into which a person under hair washing inserts his head while lying on his back and a neck receiving part for receiving a neck of the person, the neck receiving part provided at an entering edge part of the cistern, wherein the neck receiving part comprises a board having a plurality of slits or small holes. The cistern includes a wash water spouting means for spouting wash water toward an underside part of the neck receiving part, and the wash water spouting means includes a rotatable water supply pipe having a plurality of spouts and a lever provided on the water supply pipe. The lever allows for rotation of the water supply pipe about the longitudinal axis thereof to adjust a spouting angle of the wash water.

Abstract: A bathtub tray (10) includes a planar base (20) having first and second opposed ends (26, 32). The first end (26) of the planar base having at least one drain hole (30) therethrough. The tray includes a leg (34) extending downwardly from the second end (32) of the planar base. The planar base (20) has a length sufficient to span opposed edges (14, 16) of a bathtub (12). The first end is adapted to be supported by one of the bathtub edges and the leg is adapted to be supported by the other bathtub edge. The leg imparts an incline to the planar base to direct any accumulated liquid on the planar base to at least one drain hole. A rim 22 extends upwardly from the planar base to assist in directing any accumulated liquid toward the drain hole, wherein the leg includes a suction cup (36) adapted to be supported by the other bathtub edge (16). A ridge (40) may extend from the planar base and may be positioned adjacent the drain hole to assist in the direction of accumulated water to the drain hole.

Abstract: A device includes a base providing an upwardly-directed cavity having a mouth at an upper end thereof and configured to receive a portion of a child and to hold water. A lid is movably coupled to the base and movable into a tub position and a stool position, the lid extending angularly upward and away from the cavity to provide a back rest when in the tub position and the lid being disposed at least partially over the mouth and providing a substantially horizontal top surface when in the stool position. The base and lid provide a bathtub capable of holding a portion of a child therein and water for bathing the child when the lid is in the tub position and provide a step stool adapted to support the weight of a person standing on the substantially horizontal surface when in the stool position.

A support substrate is supported by the three frame elements, and defines a hole for the sink and plumbing connections. A bowed front apron support bracket provides upper and lower rails connected by a plurality of support stanchions. The upper rail is carried by a recessed front edge defined on the support substrate. A bowed front apron and left and right apron wings, are typically made of stone or similar material, and are carried by the bowed front apron support bracket. A vanity surface is carried by the upper surface of the support substrate, and a back splash and opposed side splashes are carried by the vanity surface.

Abstract: A faucet splash guard and storage unit comprising a rear wall. A right side wall is affixed to and extends at a right angle outwardly from a first side edge of the rear wall. A left side wall is affixed to and extends at a right angle outwardly from a second side edge of the rear wall. A top wall is affixed to and extends between top edges of the rear wall, the right side wall, and the left side wall. A fastener disposed to encircle the faucet is mounted to the rear wall. The faucet splash guard and storage unit will stand and extend over a faucet and bowl of a kitchen sink, to protect surrounding areas about the faucet and the bowl from splash water and keep the areas clean and dry. The top wall provides extra shelf room for other articles needed.

Abstract: A shower drain tool includes a blade for engagement with the ribs on the internal surface of a shower drain. The tool also includes a stabilizer plate connected to the blade to seat the tool on the drain and prevent the tool from falling through the drain into the drain pipe. The tool further includes one of various tool adapters. The tool adapter can be a nut to be spanned by an adjustable or open-end wrench, or a hole into which a socket wrench drive or the tip of a breaker bar or T bar can be inserted, to rotate the tool. The tool adapter can also be a pipe wrench extension so that a pipe wrench can be used to rotate the tool. Alternatively, the tool can include a device, such as a T bar, integral with the stabilizer plate to rotate the tool.

Abstract: The folding vehicle bed assembly includes a housing member that can be connected to a vertical support wall and a bed frame that can be stored within the housing member or extended for use. A movable support lever provides a first pivotal connection to the bed frame to enable the bed frame to rotate when moved from an operative horizontal position to a vertical storage position. A second pivotal connection is attached to the end of the bed frame adjacent to the vertical support wall and above the height of a mattress. A motor assembly is connected to the second pivotal connection to drive it parallel to the vertical support wall and to rotate the end of the bed frame about the second pivotal connection.

Abstract: A mobile stretcher, having one or more lateral recumbant positioning devices, an upper base frame, a mattress frame, and a patient retention device. The mattress frame is pivotally connected to the upper base frame and each lateral recumbant positioning device has a retracted position and an extended position. When each lateral recumbant positioning device is in the retracted position the angle between the plane of the upper base frame and the plane of the mattress frame is an angle equaling zero. Conversely, when each lateral recumbant positioning device is in the extended position the angle between the plane of the upper base frame and the plane of the mattress frame is an angle greater than zero and preferably between 60° and 65°.

The pattern consists of a plurality of rows of parallel, spaced, side by side, relatively small size elongated openings extending in a first direction. A plurality of columns of collinear, spaced, relatively large size elongated openings extend in a second direction. The first and second directions are orthogonal. A plurality of rows of rectangular areas, some of which of are devoid of openings, also form a part of the pattern.

Abstract: An air massager cushioning device that not only supports a weight of an individual who sits or rests on the air massager cushioning device with minimal surface tension but also creates a massaging effect on the body part of the individual positioned on the cushioning device. The cushioning device has first and second air support structures, where each support structure has alternating offset air glands. One of the two support structures has alternating apertures, wherein the alternating air glands of one of the two support structures are respectively inserted into the alternating offset apertures to form a matrix surface arrangement of the cushioning device. The air cushioning device creates a massaging effect by rapidly inflating the air glands of one of the two support structures while rapidly deflating the air glands of the other one of the two support structures, thereby creating a massaging effect.

Abstract: A combined bottle opener and stopper comprises a metal plate with side edges bent downward and inwardly. Opening is performed with the use of a conventional pry off method. Opened bottles are closed with a rubber pad attached to the bottom of a recess on the inner face of the plate. For temporary closing the bottle, i.e., with beer or carbonated water, the device is screwed onto the threaded bottle neck as a nut until the rubber pad is tightly pressed to the upper face of the bottle to hermetically close the latter. For closing bottles with nonthreaded bottle necks, the device is moved onto the bottle neck by guiding the convergent bent edges over the neck in a direction transverse to the bottle's axis until the device is fixed tightly on the bottle due to convergence of the bent edges with the rubber pad, thereby to seal the bottle's opening.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for washing cloth items in an automatic washer is provided wherein the automatic washer includes a wash basket defining a wash chamber and an impeller located within the bottom of the wash chamber. The method includes loading cloth items into the wash chamber and then supplying a quantity of wash liquid into the wash chamber sufficient to moisten the cloth items but insufficient to cause the cloth items to lose frictional engagement with the impeller as the impeller oscillates. The impeller is oscillated to apply a drag force to the cloth items in contact with the impeller such that the cloth items in contact with the impeller move angularly along an arc-like path. Angular movement of the cloth items disposed along the bottom of the wash chamber beyond the outer periphery of the impeller is impeded such that relative angular motion is created between the cloth items disposed along the periphery of the impeller and the cloth items disposed immediately above the impeller.

The foot support system (60) is a bed upon which the foot (20) rests which includes an inner edge (62) and an outer edge (64). The foot support system (60) is positioned underneath the medial column of the forefoot of foot (20). The foot support system (60) laterally decreases in thickness from the inner edge (62) to the outer edge (64). The inner edge (62) is positioned along the medial side of the foot (20), and the outer edge (64) is positioned longitudinally in a zone adjacent to a lateral margin of the hallux (48), the proximal phalanx (46), and the first metatarsal (36) and a medial margin of the phalanges (47) of the second toe and the second metatarsal (38).

Abstract: A passenger boarding bridge for narrow body aircraft that does not require a bubble section. On the right hand half of the cab floor lengthwise there are two openings, and connected to the floor at each opening there is an up-folding hinged floor board. On the back side of floor there are gas springs that are used to flip up the hinged boards and also a cylinder that can move an extension board forward and backward at the front end of floor. At the bottom of the floor there are electrical locks for locking the hinged floor boards when they are in the horizontal position. On the back side of the floor there is also a cylinder to drive the safety cylinder at the front end of the floor in a lateral direction. Above the first piece of the frame of the canopy two extra short are added, the bottom part of which is split but connected with a hinge. The front part of the frame is covered with foam rubber. Attached to the canopy frame is a gas spring to open up the frame into a multisided shape.

Abstract: A cleaning brush for a power-driven robotic pool cleaner is formed from a plurality of cylindrical sections of water-expandable compressed cellulose sponge material that are preferably die-cut from a sheet or web, each section having a central opening corresponding in both size and shape to the cross section of the rotatable shaft on which the cylindrical sections are mounted in spaced relation. When wet with water, the compressed cellulose sponge material expands many times its original compressed thickness to provide a cleaning brush having continuous coverage over the entire length of the shaft.
