  • Patent number: 6282792
Abstract: A bearing bush that can be installed without any auxiliary components and ensures a secure fit has a backing which comprises at least one layer, an overlay (4), on its inner surface and at least one flange (6, 6a, 6b) in the form of a circumferential closed bead provided at a distance from the bush ends. The bearing bush is suitable, inter alia, for flexible joints and pedal bearing systems. The method of producing such a bush takes as its starting point a prefabricated bearing bush (1), the inner surface of the backing (3) of which is exposed in at least one area (5, 5a, 5b) spaced from the bush ends. An internal mandrel is inserted into the bearing bush (1) and the bearing bush is held around its outer surface, at least one gap (23) being left opposite to the exposed area (5, 5a, 5b). The bearing bush is then compressed in the axial direction, the material is thereby displaced into the gap (23, 23′) to form the flange (6).

  • Patent number: 6282794
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a cutter having a disposable blade cartridge, a grip for handling by a user, and a coupling arrangement for coupling the cartridge to the grip in such a manner to prevent undesired rotation of the cartridge with respect to the grip. The blade cartridge includes a blade, an upper cover, and a lower cover, the blade being rotatably supported therebetween. The upper cover is further provided with a locking protrusion at one end and a locking recess. The locking protrusion is inserted into a locking aperture that is carried by the grip, thereby acting against a spring-biased pusher within the aperture. The grip further carries a spring-biased locking member that mates with the locking recess of the upper cover. To attach the blade cartridge to the grip, the locking protrusion is inserted into the locking aperture, against the spring-biased pusher. The cartridge is then rotated 90° clockwise, thereby locking the protrusion in the aperture.

  • Patent number: 6282796
Abstract: An improved hole-punching pliers has a holding part and a pressing part that are in pivotal combination with each other by way of a pair of connection plates. The holding part and the pressing part are provided respectively with a dentate engaging section so that they can be partially in mesh with each other in assembly to provide a secondary fulcrum in addition to the connection plates. Thereby when the holding part and the pressing part are held by a pair of connection plates and pressed with force, the mesh of the dentate engaging sections of the holding part and the pressing part can produce a double lever effect, rendering effective transmission of force applied to the holding part and the pressing part to punch a hole on an object.

  • Patent number: 6282798
Abstract: A finger-controlled device for pushing slide bars, including two sets of data carriers, two slide bars and a finger-controlled section for moving the slide bars. Each data carrier corresponds to a sensor for reading 0, 1 signals. Each data carrier has a central shaft disposed with a gear. A face of each slide bar is formed with a rack facing the central shaft for meshing with the gears. The finger-controlled section is movable relative to a housing having an interior chambers for receiving the data carriers, sensors and slide bars. Four side walls of the chamber are formed with through holes for the slide bars to pass therethrough. The housing restrains the slide bars to move relative to and across each other. In operation, the slide bars are moved relative to each other as the finger-controlled section is moved, whereby the data carriers are rotated by a fixed number of circles for use in absolute coordinate input alignment. The slide bars can be widened and thickened to have greater bending strength.

  • Patent number: 6282804
Abstract: A arcuate resistive sensor element is imprinted upon a ceramic substrate forming a wall of a ceramic body in which an electrolyte, advantageously silver nitrate dissolved in a mixture of methanol, water and butanol, is sealed. To avoid the effects of electroplating, an AC exciting voltage is applied between the ends of the sensor element which is bridged by a discharge resistor whose resistance is much lower than the internal resistance of the sensor element so as to dissipate any polarization caused by asymmetry of the voltage supply. A signal output is taken from a midpoint of the sensor element which is always immersed in the electrolyte so that the effect of any leakage current is minimized. Linearity of output with change in the tilt angle achieved with an illustrative embodiment has been measured at better than 99.9% in tilt angle range of −50 to +50 degrees.

  • Patent number: 6282830
Abstract: A variable fishing line action device is an integral unit intended to be clipped on a fishing rod mounting an open-face spinning reel, preferably, between the reel and a first eye of the rod. It comprises a generally hook shaped line rest portion adapted to receive and divert a fishing line emanating from an open-face spinning reel toward the rod mounting the reel and, a C-shaped clip portion adapted to selectively and adjustably secure the line rest to the fishing rod in front of the reel. The device may be selectively disposed along the length of the rod, between the reel and the first eye to impart the desired action to a fishing line. In its preferred embodiment, the C-shaped clip is comprised of two diverging legs, and the device is formed from a single length of rigid stainless steel wire. Resilient pad insulators may be disposed on the legs to protect the rod from scratching by the clip.

  • Patent number: 6282831
Abstract: A quick set fishing rig and fish hook for live bait is disclosed. The hook includes a main portion, at least one hook portion, and a shank for releasably anchoring the hook into the body of the live bait. The shank extends substantially straight out from the main body portion of the hook and preferably has at least one stabilizing fin provided thereon. The shank is inserted under the skin of the live bait, thus anchoring the hook portions on the live bait. The stabilizing fins of the shank prevent the hook from rotating about the shank axis while in use, and assists the hook to quickly release from the bait when a fisherman or woman sets the hook. The hook is preferably used in connection with a rig providing for the adjustability of the length between a front single hook of the rig and the hook of the present invention.

Abstract: A rodent trap includes a platform having a flat upper surface, a spring loaded trapping member pivotally movable between cocked and actuated positions, and a retaining arm pivotally mounted on the platform at one end thereof and adapted to hold the trapping member in a cocked configuration. A diverter is mounted on the platform and has a vertical wall portion formed with an open ended slot adapted to receive a free end of the retaining arm. The diverter also has a bait anchor tab extending forwardly and at an acute angle relative to horizontal and relative to the free end of the retaining arm when the retaining arm overlies the trapping member in the cocked position. The tab may also be curved in an axial direction to receive the free end of the retaining arm in nested relationship. The trapping member may include an added transverse member to insure trapping of smaller rodents.

  • Patent number: 6282834
Abstract: A light transmissive thin flexible covering for a greenhouse having two outside sheets. The two outside sheets have sandwiched there between an array of chambers which connect and hold the sheets together, the chambers are sealed and generally contain air and thus provide an insulating space. The cover can be placed or rolled over the framework of a greenhouse to provide an enclosed thermally insulated space. The structure of a greenhouse generally comprises an array of sequentially arched support rods or pipes. The support rods or pipes at either end have a base plate to which they attach. The ends of the structure are sealed to provide a completely enclosed interior space to protect plants during cold weather. The cover has ultraviolet reflective qualities which prevent the penetration of ultraviolet light into the interior or the degradation of the cover due to ultraviolet light.

  • Patent number: 6282840
Abstract: A mechanically interlocked belt type weatherstrip provides a seal between the upper portion of a door and the lower portion a window. The weatherstrip comprises three individual components: a cover, a body and a sealing lip. These components may be either extruded or molded depending particularly upon the configurations of their terminal portions. All of the components may be one of a wide variety of black flexible plastic or elastomeric materials. However, because each of the components is separate, they can be manufactured of different materials and of different colors to provide specifically desired properties. The weatherstrip is formed by snapping the body and the cover together which holds the sealing lip securely in place between the cover and the body. The weatherstrip thus allows versatility of the selection of the separate components to meet the individual style and functional needs of a particular motor vehicle design.
