  • Patent number: 6711797
Abstract: A tooling fixture includes a plurality of cylinders in a module fitted with pistons in which a portion thereof extends from the surface of the module. The cylinders are connected with a fluid source by a control valve assembly. The control valve assembly controls the amount of fluid to enter the cylinders in order to raise the pistons until a portion thereof are in contact with and support a workpiece. Once all of the pistons are in contact with and are fully supporting the workpiece, the fluid pressure is stabilized, maintaining the pistons at their set heights. Once the pistons are desired to be lowered, the valve assembly opens and the fluid can freely exit the cylinders and retract the pistons back into the module.

  • Patent number: 6711799
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for tightly attaching a piece of flexible tubing of an elastomeric material to a connecting part, especially for attaching air bellows for pneumatic springs to a connecting part with a clamping ring, which is radially pressed using a pressing tool. The force-displacement characteristic line (16) of the pressing tool is recorded while the clamping ring is being radially pressed, in order to carry out the method. This force-displacement characteristic line (16) is used to determine the lost force that is required in the pressing tool for the plastic deformation of the clamping ring and for overcoming the inner friction of the pressing tool. This lost force is used for adjusting the additional force resulting from the pressing tool being moved together in such a way that it corresponds to a predetermined force between the piece of flexible tubing and the connecting part. The invention also relates to a pressing tool for carrying out this method.

  • Patent number: 6711805
Abstract: The rotor has a core with an internal space. Permanent magnets are arranged on the core. These permanent magnets are surrounded by an outer cylinder, which is connected flush to closure disks which bear stub shafts. Channels run out from the internal space in the radial direction to the region of the permanent magnets. A resin mass is first introduced into the internal space. The rotor is thereafter heated and run up to centrifuging rotational speed. As a result, the molten resin mass flows through the channels to the region of the permanent magnets and fills up all the cavities present there and also cracks which form in the brittle permanent magnets on running up to speed. The resin mass hardens while the rotor is kept at centrifuging rotational speed. Each surface region of the permanent magnets is thus reliably protected against corrosion.

  • Patent number: 6711808
Abstract: A pinch grip hanger mechanism dispenses pinch grip hangers, one at a time, and then opens the pinch grips for insertion of a garment. The insertion of a garment triggers the closing of the pinch grips, and reciprocation of a hanger feed push plate to dispense another hanger. The device may also automatically attach size indicia to the hanger as the hanger is dispensed. The closing of the pinch grips is initiated by safety triggers, which are triggered by insertion of a garment. This provides a safety feature for the device, since the operator needs to use both hands to hold the garment taut for insertion. Thus, both hands are away from the device at the time the pinch grips are opened and closed.

  • Patent number: 6711813
Abstract: Method and apparatus of fabricating a core laminate Printed Circuit Board structure with highly planar external surfaces is provided. A pre-formed flat material including a first resinous sub-material and a second carrier sub-material is used to planarize external surfaces. During lamination, uniform pressure is applied to the pre-formed flat sheet which covers the upper surface of the printed circuit. The resinous material of the first sub-material flows to fill the crevices, vias, etc. of the upper surface of the PCB. Moreover, due to the uniform pressure on the pre-formed flat sheet, the resinous first sub-material is planarized. This planarized surface provides a suitable base substrate for a thin film multilayer build-up structure and that provides electrical connections between the thin film top layers and the Printed Circuit Board—style core layers.

  • Patent number: 6711832
Abstract: A shoe includes a hollow base fixed in a through-hole formed in the shoe. The hollow base provides a fluid passage for ventilation or drainage. A lid is attached removably to the hollow base to block the fluid passage. In an embodiment, a solid stud is mounted on the shoe adjacent to the hollow base to retain the lid when the lid is removed from the hollow base. The lid may be elongated and has two closure parts attachable removably and respectively to the hollow base and the stud in a bridging manner. Preferably, the lid is capable of being press-fitted to the hollow base and/or the solid stud. The lid not only functions to close the hollow base but also serves to hold a logo.

  • Patent number: 6711835
Abstract: A shoe (100) includes a heel base (120) having a front surface (122); a plate (200) having a front portion (210) and a rear portion (220) adjoining at a angle (285) of less than 90 degrees; and at least one replaceable heel (500). The replaceable heel (500) has a slot (520) in which the rear portion (220) of the plate (200) may be inserted. The front portion (210) of the plate (200) is attached to the front surface (122) of the heel base (120) so the replaceable heel (500) can be slid on or off the rear portion (220) of the plate. In one embodiment, the sole (140) of the shoe (100) has one or more gaps (146, 142) to enable it to flex as heel height is changed. In one embodiment, the shoe's upper (160) has a flexible strip (180) to curtail the strain on the upper (160) caused by changing heel heights. In one embodiment, a sliding restraint (130) at the back of the shoe (100) prevents the heel (500) from slipping off during wear.
