Abstract: A cut-resistant fabric for use in protective apparel that provides cut resistance with relative comfort and low cost. The fabric is knitted from a first end of composite yarn and second and third ends of spun fiber machine-knitted together three-ends-in. The first, second, and third ends are randomly placed within the cut-resistant fabric. The first end is a cut-resistant composite yarn having a cut resistant core wrapped in a plurality of strands of cut resistant material and the second and third ends is a spun fiber. A colored thread is disposed within the cut resistant composite yarn along the cut resistant core to provide a visible indication of wear on the strands of cut resistant material.

Abstract: The present invention consists of a new and unique ergonomic handgrip with separate ulnar and radial support means that divides the pressure between the heel of the hand and the thumb area along with removing the pressure in the central palmer crease at the joining of the wrist. This is accomplished by using a dog-bone shape with an ulnar or heel support area having a cavity conforming to the shape of the heel of the hand and a radial or thumb support with a cavity conforming to the shape of the thumb of the hand where it joins the wrist. The ulnar or heel support and the radial or thumb support are angled so as to keep the wrist in a neutral position in relation to the device and are divided by a median groove that blends up into the gripping area of the device. The median groove maintains a space between the device and the carpel tunnel or central palmer area of the hand.

Abstract: A portable scrubber and methodology for using the scrubber, the scrubber for scrubbing objects such as tools, garden equipment, metal objects, kitchenware, footwear, sporting equipment, grills, plastic objects, and small household objects, and the like, while avoiding the associated mess and pain of the manual scrubbing process. The scrubber has a bottom carriage, a vertical support extending above the bottom carriage and a top carriage hinged to the vertical support. Flaps between the top ad bottom carriages help to suppress the escape of cleaning fluids from the scrubber. A motor in the bottom carriage drives brushes in each of the top and bottom carriages through a drive system. Components of the drive system include sprockets attached to the brushes and timing belts for driving the sprockets. The drive system also includes a driven sprocket having its axis of rotation corresponding to the axis of the hinge and a water containment system.

Abstract: A hand held cleaning tool is powered by commonly available batteries. Preferably a momentary switch selectively delivers power from the batteries to a motor. An output shaft of the tool includes an expandable coupling, such as, for example a set of swaging cams. Torque delivery arms radiate outward from the output shaft. For example, the torque delivery arms are carried by a hub. The hub is attached to the output shaft with a pin. The hub also acts to secure a power train including the motor and output shaft to a housing of the cleaning tool. The torque delivery arms are received in slots or interdental spaces associated with a cleaning head. Torque is delivered to the cleaning head with a reduced stress concentration.

Abstract: The invention relates to a portal washing facility for motor vehicles, in particular passenger motor vehicles, that includes a portal device that can move relative to the motor vehicle in its longitudinal direction, has at least one horizontal washing brush that is height-adjustable on the portal device, and at least one side washing brush that can move transverse to the direction of motion of the portal device. In order to have an effective, brushless high-pressure washing, in addition to washing with conventional washing brushes, at least one lateral high-pressure washing device is provided on the portal device and is used for high-pressure cleaning of the side surfaces and of the front and rear surfaces of the motor vehicle and can be driven along at least one traverse of the portal device transverse to the direction of motion of the portal device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a dust and dirt collecting unit for a vacuum cleaner capable of simultaneously performing a primary cyclonic dust collection and a secondary filter dust collection. The dust and dirt collecting unit of the present invention is arranged on one side of the vacuum cleaner for filtering air containing foreign materials. The dust and dirt collecting unit includes a dust casing which has an inlet formed tangentially on the dust casing with an open top portion. A cover may be arranged for opening and closing the top portion of the dust casing. An outlet is provided at the center of the cover for discharging air from which the foreign materials have been filtered out.

Abstract: A deformable grip is provided for a manual implement such as a writing implement or a hair brush handle or the like, wherein the grip resiliently conforms to individualized anatomical contours and preferences thereby providing enhanced user comfort with reduced fatigue. The deformable grip includes a resilient transparent outer sleeve mounted for manual grasping during normal implement use, wherein this outer sleeve encloses at least one internal cavity containing a substantially transparent fluid filler material to provide the outer sleeve with a deformable tactile feel. At least one solid or non-fluid body such as a ball or the like is carried within the internal cavity substantially in suspension within the fluid filler material. This non-fluid body is externally visible through the transparent outer sleeve, and movably displaces in response to manual grasping of the implement to visually indicate and confirm shape deformation of the grip.
