Abstract: A hand protector comprises two basic elements, one element attached to the user's body and a second element being a relatively rigid hand guard ergonomically shaped to fit across the palm and fingers of the user's hand. The guard preferably includes a valley region aligned between a palm-covering portion of the guard and an upturned portion at its end so that the grasped elements in hand are maintained in proper position on the guard. The body-securing element is preferably attached to the top of the hand guard at a point adjacent to, or slightly below, the user's wrist. In one embodiment, the body-securing element is a wristband that also contains a snap for releasable attachment to the hand guard element.

  • Publication number: 20040250330
Abstract: This is a utility patent application for an Energy Diffusing Glove Insert (EDGI) that protects the users hand from pressure and shock. It decreases the pressure on the Median and Ulnar Neurovascular bundles on the palm of the hand decreasing both temporary and permanent injury coming from overuse. Originally designed for bicycle riding gloves they can also be utilized in other high impact, pressure, or vibration situations to improve performance and decrease injury, when inserted into those gloves either as a temporary addition or by a permanent fixation. The exact specifications will vary with the use and materials utilized for each purpose. They will always be designed to protect while allowing a good grip and adequate protection from the use involved. This patent should allow the incorporation of new cushioning material or combinations to be used. The insert shall be sized to fit inside the standard glove sizes.

Abstract: An inventive suction cover for a whirlpool bath includes a rearwardly extending disinfectant chamber. The disinfectant chamber is filled with a supply of a disinfectant. As the whirlpool is operated, water is drawn into the disinfectant chamber and mixes with the disinfectant. Abstract: Disclosed is a device and method for cleaning the air-intake system of an EGR-valve-equipped diesel engine. The EGR valve is removed and replaced with a vessel in which a pressure drop is created. The pressure drop creates sufficient vacuum so that cleaner may be administered into the air-intake duct of the vehicle. The vessel uses sizeable vanes to control the vacuum. The vanes also create turbulence which make the cleaner more effectively contacted with contaminants existing within the air intake system. An auger is also disclosed for cleaning out the inside surfaces of the air-intake duct so that contaminants are not allowed to crumble into the air intake system. Also disclosed is a cleaner which is particularly useful in cleaning diesel engines and may be used with the devices and methods described above.

Abstract: A valve plate (54) is slidably moved on a frame (52) by an actuator (62) between open and closed positions to control the supply of air sucked into the inlet (44) of a blower system (40) that supplies pressurized air through an outlet (46) to a plenum (12) for distribution to said nozzle (16, 18). By disposing the valve plate (54) at the inlet, the blower motor (49) may run continuously without a load as the impeller is not pumping air when there is no demand to blow the water from a vehicle.

Abstract: A double cyclone dust collector for a vacuum cleaner includes a lower cyclone body having an air suction port and an air discharge port for separately collecting dust entrained in air which is drawn in through the air suction port, an upper cyclone body having a main body for sequential secondary separation of fine dust particles after the primary dust separation of the air flowing from the lower cyclone body, and an upper casing providing a fine dust collecting chamber by covering the surface of the main body, and an air path for guiding the air which is cleaned in the upper cyclone body by the secondary dust separation step into the upper and lower cyclone bodies, and discharging the air through the air discharge port. The dust particles entrained in the air can be separately and sequentially collected according to the size of the dust particles.

Abstract: A cleaning apparatus includes a top cover and a seat that together form a main body of the apparatus, and a wheel adjusting mechanism mounted between the top cover and the seat. The wheel adjusting mechanism includes a lifting gear, a braking gear, and a pair of wheels connected to two ends of an axle. When the lifting gear is downward pushed to press against the axle and a catch provided on the lifting gear is engaged with a hooking portion on the braking gear, the cleaning apparatus is lifted by a predetermined distance. When the braking gear is forward pushed and the hooking portion is disengaged from the catch on the lifting gear, the cleaning apparatus is lowered to an initial position thereof.

Abstract: An electric vacuum cleaner includes a nozzle assembly 5 including: a base member 6; a movable member 7 inversely rotatably attached to the base member 6 and having one surface formed with a suction opening 20; and a covering member 8 movably attached to the base member 6. Holding members 22 for holding a cleaning sheet 21 are formed on the other surface of the movable member 7. When the one surface of the movable member 7 faces a floor surface and the other surface thereof is covered by the covering member 8, the electric vacuum cleaner can pick up filths through the suction opening 20. When the movable member 7 is rotated inversely so that the cleaning sheet 21 faces the floor surface, the electric vacuum cleaner can catch the filth by the cleaning sheet 21 and pick up the relatively large filth via a communicating path 34 formed in between the movable member 7 and the covering member 8, and the suction opening 20 connected to the communicating path 34.

Abstract: A multipurpose hinge apparatus having an automatic return function is provided in which the apparatus is installed between the door and a main body. The apparatus includes a driving mechanism for ascending and descending a piston rod according to opening and closing of the door which is installed in the upper portion of a cylindrical housing. A piston is connected with the piston rod, in which a one-direction check valve is installed in the piston. The piston partitions an upper chamber and a lower chamber and ascends and descends in association with the piston rod. A first oil path communicates with the upper and lower chambers via the lower portion of the piston rod in the central portion of the piston. A compression spring which makes the piston ascend is inserted into the lower chamber. Oil is filled in the chamber.
