Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for testing electronic devices for leak detection, wherein the test does not destroy the electronic devices. In one method of detecting a leak in a sealed package, a sealed package is placed in a test gas environment, thereby allowing the test gas to diffuse into an internal space of the sealed package through a leak formed in the sealed package. Thereafter, the sealed package is placed in an environment substantially free of the test gas and allowing the test gas to diffuse out of the internal space. The amount of the test gas in the test gas-free environment is detected. Based on the information obtained from the detection, it is determined whether the sealed package has one or more unintended leaks based on information obtained from the detecting.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a MEM viscosity sensor that is configured to be operated submerged in a liquid. The MEMS viscosity sensor comprises a MEMS variable capacitor comprising a plurality of capacitor plates capable of being submerged in a liquid. An actuator places a driving force on the variable capacitor which causes relative movement between the plates, where the movement creates a shear force between each moving plate and the liquid, which damps the movement of the plate and increases the capacitor's response time to the applied force in accordance with the liquid's viscosity. To determine the actual viscosity of the liquid, a sensor is coupled to the variable capacitor for sensing the response time of the plates as an indicator of the liquid's viscosity.

Abstract: This invention relates to a liquid measurement cell for micromechanical sensors, so-called cantilever sensors. These sensors are e.g. used for the detection of biomolecules without the need for fluorescent or radioactive labelling. These measurements are usually carried out in liquids, where air or gas bubbles present in the analyte inside the measurement cell can significantly affect measurement results or even destroy the sensor. In a measurement cell according to this invention, a closed gas volume is present above the liquid level. Consequently, gas or air bubble can be constantly absorbed by the gas volume and do not come in contact with the cantilever sensors. The measurement cell is further characterised by a very low volume in the order of microliters and can be combined with various optical or piezoelectrical/piezoresistive read-out methods.

Abstract: A sensor array for measuring various parameters in a machine environment, the sensor array comprising a number of oscillators, each of the oscillators comprising a feedback network, an amplifier and a limiter being connected together in a loop. The feedback network has a frequency which varies with the parameters to be measured. The amplifier consumes a current from a current supply and in cooperation with the feedback network produces a signal that alternates at the natural frequency of the feedback network. The limiter limits the amplitude of the signal within a predetermined amplitude range. All of the signals from the oscillators are multiplexed onto the output of the sensor array. Frequency analysis may then used to isolate the individual readings from each of the oscillators.

Abstract: A socket driving head for a box end wrench having a main body, a quick-release bolt, a lock pin and an engaging steel ball. The main body consists of a polygonal member having a shape corresponding to that of a closed loop of the wrench. A semi-closed pin hole for movably receiving the lock pin by use of a first spring is provided at one side of a lower end of the polygonal member and communicated with a longitudinal hole of the main body. The main body further includes a polygonal neck with a ball hole. The quick-release bolt is received in the longitudinal hole of the main body by use of a second spring. Moreover, the quick-release bolt includes two arched recesses for receiving the lock pin and the engaging steel ball, respectively. Accordingly, an unexpected detachment of the socket driving head from the wrench is avoided.

Abstract: An apparatus for disinfecting food slicing machines during use, and which does not necessitate stopping the machine to clean. The apparatus generates ozonated water and directs the ozonated water onto the band blade of the machine. The ozonated water is highly antibacterial, but leaves little or no undesirable residue. The apparatus includes a first fluid circuit in which the water flows and is ozonated. A second fluid circuit is in fluid communication with the first circuit, and has an outlet, such as a nozzle, that directs ozonated water onto the band blade. Preferably, the outlet is connected to a blade guide through which the band blade extends, and thereby supplies ozonated water to where it is the most needed: at the cutting surface.
