Additional integrated padding may be incorporated at the head of the pad in order to elevate the head of the patient to an anatomically neutral position. Emanating from the sides of the padding is an elastic coverslip that would wrap around a spinal board, securing the pad to the board. Openings within the coverslip would correspond with handhold slots along the sides of the spinal boards.

    Abstract: A protective member, preferably an extruded plastic is used to enclose, at least partially, a component of a bed frame so as to provide protection against inadvertent injury to a user striking the otherwise sharp edges of the component. The components are normally a side rail and a center rail and the protective member is snapped fitted to that component by the presence of curved lips that at least partially encircle the external edges of the component. There are also ribs formed in the protective member and which position the protective member a predetermined distance away from the particular component. In the case of the center rail, the protective member is spaced away from the upper surface of the center rail so as to compensate for the lower position of that surface with respect to the head and foot cross members so that a box spring resting upon the side rails and the center rail is supported evenly and does not bow at its center due to a spatial difference between the center rail and the cross members.

The mattress system includes transverse, lateral support ribs upon the support surface of the mattress. The support ribs have a predetermined cross-sectional geometry that is curvilinear with a superior aspect generally disposed for receipt of a person and a smaller inferior aspect opposite. The inferior aspect of the cross-section of the support ribs may undercut the portion of the support ribs vertically above it. Having such cross-sectional geometry, the support ribs are thereby directionally oriented, either toward the foot or toward the head of the mattress system.

    Abstract: Substantially rectangular-shaped tanks are provided for storing liquefied gas, which tanks are especially adapted for use on land or in combination with bottom-supported offshore structure such as gravity-based structures (GBS). A tank according to this invention is capable of storing fluids at substantially atmospheric pressure and has a plate cover adapted to contain fluids and to transfer local loads caused by contact of said plate cover with said contained fluids to a grillage of stiffeners and stringers, which in turn is adapted to transfer the local loads to an internal truss frame structure. Methods of constructing these tanks are also provided.

    Abstract: A liquid application material that is capable of forming an oxidized insulator as a result of baking is applied onto a support substrate to produce an object of processing. Then, a mold having projection structures with intervals of nanometers is pressed against the applied liquid material to produce corresponding recess structures. Thereafter, the applied liquid material is baked in oxygen-containing gas or oxidized in ozone or oxygen plasma to make it electrically highly resistive. Subsequently, a layer to be anodized is formed on said oxidized insulator. Then, the layer to be anodized is actually anodized in an acidic solution to form fine holes that are aligned with the respective recess structures in the anodized layer. Accordingly, fine recess structures can be manufactured with ease.

The present fabrication process does not require drilling of holes nor electroplating of leads to the resistors, thus the whole process can be automated to a greater extent than with conventional techniques.

A parts support anvil is placed in a required position with respect to the rivet support anvil prior to formation of the second head on the opposite end of the rivet, to provide the desired amount of clearance.
