Abstract: An improved spoon apparatus and method includes a handle portion carrying a spoon bowl portion. The spoon bowl is clutched non-rotationally to the handle portion during a scooping motion to load the spoon bowl with food. At the initiation of the food scooping motion, essentially immediate clutching of the spoon bowl to the handle portion is effected by a fine-dimension ratchet structure of the inventive spoon. However, as soon as the scooping motion is completed by clearing of the spoon bowl from the food, the bowl portion is unclutched from the handle portion and becomes freely pivotal like a pendulum so as to remain level from side to side irrespective of rotation of the handle portion as a user moves the loaded spoon to the user's mouth. A unique combination of gravitationally induced torque as well as a gravitational force vector are utilized to effect unclutching of the spoon bowl from the handle portion.

Abstract: The invention relates to a gyroscope production method and to the configuration of a gyroscope thus produced. More specifically, the invention relates to a method of producing a base (15, 35) for a scale (24, 44) on a gyroscopic ring (3, 7) belonging to a gyroscopic suspension of an arm of a parallel kinematic machine, said gyroscopic ring (3, 7) being provided with bearing pins (5, 9). According to the invention, the bearing pins (5, 9) are worked in a secure fixed state and the base (15, 35) for the scale (23) is also worked in the same fixed state, without said state being changed between the working of the bearing pins (5, 9) and that of the base (15) for the scale (24, 44). The invention also relates to a scale configuration produced using the aforementioned method.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a technology capable of planting seedlings smoothly in actual soil in planting ground such as dry land and allowing the seedling to root securely and grow without artificially supplying water continuously. Not only is a seedling fixed inside an upper opening portion of a tube having a length reachable to a deep water-containing layer in the planting ground but also a raising medium is put inside the tube at a hardness that allows the root of the seedling to grow long downward, and the root of the seedling is allowed to grow below the tube, thereby obtaining the seedling having a long root. A vertical hole having approximately the same diameter as that of the tube is dug in the ground of the planting ground until reaching a soil layer having water quality and water quantity necessary for growth of plant, the seedling having the long root is buried in the vertical hole together with the tube, thereby planting the seedling in the planting ground.

Abstract: The Easy-Lift Garden bag appears as a soft vessel. This invention serves the purpose of replacing the hard plastic pot resembling vessel, which will environmentally change history of using hard plastic pots to grow flowers/trees/and plants. This product is waterproof, adhering to the correct process of growing flowers/trees/ and plants. By being well ventilated, and in the same instance allowing excess water to drain with keeping the suggested nurturing amount of moisture for the biology of the plant. Specifically I have designed two to four loops on the body of the Easy-Lift Garden bag, so it is convenient for non-manpower mechanism transportation. The finally conclusion the textiles of the Easy-Lift Garden bag is innocuous to the environment, and may be recycled. If we want to grow beautiful trees/plants/ and flowers, we as gardeners/biologists/nurserymen have to do our part to save the environment.

Abstract: A multipurpose planting base that can be easily installed on a concrete floor on a roof, a slope, a folded-plate roof, or even on a wall surface or the like. The need for a conventional net is eliminated and the planting of turfs, flowering grasses, trees, or the like is enabled. The base includes a holding cover 5 having an open window 3 divided by a holding crosspiece 2, and a tray 7 for supporting the opening side of the holding cover 5 and for receiving a culture soil 6 with which the holding cover 5 is filled. When used for pot planting, it includes a planting pot tray 9 having a planting pot 10 exposed toward the open window 3 when housed in the holding cover 5.

Abstract: A safety gate includes a gate frame, a gate member, and first and second restoring mechanisms for mounting pivotally the gate member on the gate frame such that the gate member can be swung in a first direction from a closed position to a first open position, and in a second direction from the closed position to a second open position. The first restoring mechanism operates to accumulate a restoring force for restoring the gate member from the first open position to the closed position when the gate member is swung in the first direction from the closed position to the first open position. The second restoring mechanism operates to accumulate a restoring force for restoring the gate member from the second open position to the closed position when the gate member is swung in the second direction from the closed position to the second open position.

Abstract: A power closing assembly operates a closure panel hingedly secured to a motor vehicle. The power closing assembly includes an actuator mounted to the motor vehicle, a movable striker also mounted to the motor vehicle to receive the closure panel's latch, and a rotary power cable connecting therebetween. The actuator has a closure cable on a spooling drum extending to the closure panel for closing from an open position when the actuator operates. The movable striker moves between a nominal inboard position and an outboard position. A rotary power cable connects between a provided output on the actuator and an input on the striker so that the striker's movement is powered and synchronized by the actuator. With the closure panel open, the actuator begins a closing cycle by driving in a direction to spool in the closure cable extending to the closure panel. The actuator's direction, using the rotary power cable, simultaneously causes the striker to move outboard.

Abstract: An astragal boot is mounted onto a lower end of an astragal disposed on a free end of a semi-active door in a double-door set disposed over a threshold. The astragal boot includes a platform and a pair of lateral fins spaced from one another and being flexible and projecting downwardly from the platform to seal against the threshold. Primary fins are flexible and project downwardly from the platform a greater distance than the lateral fins and are joined to and extend between the lateral fins. The lateral fins are joined to the primary fins and hold the primary fins into sealing engagement with the threshold to prevent the penetration of water between the astragal boot and the threshold. The lateral fins hold the primary fins against the threshold because the primary fins are thinner thereby minimizing the effort required to close the semi-active door over the threshold.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing cerium carbonate powder by mixing a cerium precursor solution with a carbonate precursor solution to cause precipitation, wherein at least one solvent used in the cerium precursor solution and the carbonate precursor solution is an organic solvent. Cerium carbonate powder obtained from the method, cerium oxide powder obtained from the cerium carbonate powder, a method for preparing the cerium oxide powder, and CMP slurry comprising the cerium oxide powder are also disclosed. The method for preparing cerium carbonate using an organic solvent, allows the resultant cerium carbonate powder to have a size and shape controllable from the initial nucleation step. Additionally, it is possible to easily control the size and shape of cerium oxide powder obtained from the cerium carbonate powder.

Abstract: A system for inexpensively updating manufactured mobile homes with decorative window shadows and skirting. Decorative panels are attached to the home by circular metal snaps. The panels may be of vinyl plastic or other suitable material of sufficient thickness to withstand the weather. A base frame is positioned on the ground. The snaps are attached by nails or screws in a conventional manner to the base frame and the lower periphery of the home. The panels have mating snap receivers at their corners which as snapped in place, side by side, between the base frame and the lower periphery of the home structure, thereby forming a skirt surrounding part or all of the structure. The decorative window shadows are panels sized to fit between the windows. These panels are attached to the exterior wall of the home by metal snaps at their corners like the skirting panels.
