Abstract: A carwash brush support structure is extendable relative to a vertical support beam. Extension of the carwash brush carriage is facilitated by means of roller bearings each of which is made up of a U-bolt having threaded ends and a plurality of loosely packed rollers on the U-bolt which engage and roll relative to the surface of a cylindrical rail. The rollers may be of substantially the same size or may be graduated in size toward the opposite ends of the U-bolt to trap the bearing on a cylindrical beam. Rollers of a distinctive color may be located on U-bolt where the greatest roller loading is expected.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a device for mounting a fastening element (12) to a part (13), e.g. a sheet metal part, said fastening element comprising a head piece (14) with a tubular rivet section (16) which is disposed concentric to an axis of symmetry (18) of the fastening element (12) or a fastening section (20) of the fastening element (12) and extends into the head piece via a radially extending contact surface (22). The rivet section (16) is guided through the part (12) so as to form a hole in said part, and the rivet section (12) is flanged such that the part is clamped between the contact surface and the flanged rivet section in the area of the hole.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a method and equipment for replacing anodes in an electrolysis cell in which a crane with an anode gripper is used to lift out used anodes and to insert new anodes. The new anode is inserted at a height in accordance with a calculated height based on the height of the anode removed, the height of the anode removed and the height of the new anode being measured against a common reference level. Laser-based measuring equipment is arranged between a point on the crane, which is stationary in terms of height during the operation, and a point on the anode gripper, which moves together with the anode, and measures the heights stated. The measured values are processed by a PLC-based system, which determines a more precise insertion height of the new anode in accordance with a specific algorithm.

Abstract: An apparatus for pressing a cover onto a printing material block that is moved in a transport direction has a first pressing element that can be moved in a first direction and one or more second pressing element that can be moved transversely to the first direction. The first pressing element, in particular, is a pressing table moving in the vertical direction and the second pressing element one or two pressing rail(s) that can be moved in the horizontal direction. The apparatus has a drive unit, in particular with a servo motor, to which a variable control profile can be applied via a connection to a control unit. The variable control profile allows the movement of the pressing rails, for example their stroke or the course of their stroke, to be adapted to the current processing job. The apparatus is particularly suited for use in adhesive binders.

Abstract: A method of forming brush seal segments includes mounting a pair of full form plates having opposite arcuate edges in back-to-back relation and wrapping wire about the form plates in multiple passes to form wire runs at angles, e.g., 35-45° relative to radii of the arcuate edges. Half form plates are assembled to opposite sides of the full form plates adjacent one edge of the subassembly. The wire wrap adjacent the one edge of the full form plates is removed. Welds are applied between each adjacent half and full form plates. The inner edges of the wrapped wire and inner frame members of the full form plates are removed. The assembly is then separated to form a pair of arcuate brush seal segments.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a component mounting apparatus and a component mounting method in which a movement time of a nozzle can be shortened so that production efficiency can be improved. There is provided a control means for controlling movement positions and movement timings of a nozzle elevating means and a nozzle moving means. The control means stores positions and heights of obstacles located between a component supply unit and a circuit board in advance. The control means moves down a nozzle in sync with the time when the nozzle has finished passing over each obstacle after an electronic component has been photographed by a component camera. Alternatively, the control means moves the nozzle in a path to avoid the obstacles. In addition, in a component mounting region, the nozzle moves at a component mounting region movement height and the component is mounted by the nozzle moved down from the component mounting region movement height.
