Abstract: A multi-surface sponge product includes a foraminous portion adhered to an abrasive portion to form a unitary product, each portion and the resulting product having a pair of sidewalls and in cross-section or side elevation having the form of a parallelogram. The sidewalls form gripping areas and the angled forward and reward end opposite ends of the paralleogram shaped body form wedges. The multi-surface body is low profile and various edges and corners thereof enable the foraminous and abrasive portions to be selectively used to engage corners of many differently configured surfaces to be cleaned, to either scrub the surface or simply clean or absorb fluid, depending on which portion of the product is emplaced in the edge or in a corner.

Abstract: The invention starts with a wiper blade (10) comprising a rubber elastic wiper strip (12) in which a resilient rail (18, 20) is inserted into a lateral longitudinal groove on each side of side of said wiper blade as a support element and laterally protrudes from the longitudinal groove, wherein the resilient rails (18, 20) support terminal caps (26, 60, 81) while being held together at their ends and being fixed relative to the wiper strip (12) in the longitudinal direction by a bridge (22), which is joined in a fixed manner to the resilient rails (18, 20) at the lateral parts of said bridge and forms a free space for a top strip (16) of the wiper strip (12) in the central area of the bridge. It is proposed that the terminal caps (26, 60, 81) have detachable fixing means (52) that engage in the top strip (16) of the wiper strip (12), wherein the axial movability of the resilient rails (18, 20) relative to the wiper strip (12) is limited by the terminal caps (26, 60, 81).

Abstract: A statistical process control system employs a consistent soot blowing operation for a heat exchange section of, for example, a fuel burning boiler, collects heat absorption data for the heat exchange section and analyzes the distribution of the heat absorption data as well as various parameters of the heat absorption distribution to readjust the soot blowing operation. The statistical process control system may set a desired lower heat absorption limit and a desired upper heat absorption limit and compare them, respectively, with an actual lower heat absorption limit and an actual upper heat absorption limit to determine the readjustment to be made to the soot blowing operation. Alternatively, the statistical process control system may be used to determine permanent slagging of the heat exchange section.
