Abstract: According to the method of producing organic pigment fine particles of the present invention, when producing organic pigment fine particles by allowing two or more solutions at least one of which is an organic pigment solution in which an organic pigment is dissolved to flow through a microchannel, the organic pigment solution flows through the microchannel in a non-laminar state. Accordingly, the contact area of solutions per unit time can be increased and the length of diffusion mixing can be shortened, and thus instantaneous mixing of solutions becomes possible. As a result, nanometer-scale monodisperse organic pigment fine particles can be produced in a stable manner.

Abstract: This invention discloses a high strength magnesium slag brick and a method of producing the same. The high strength magnesium slag brick is composed of 60 to 80 percent by weight of furnace slag from the reduction process of a magnesium production, 15 to 25 percent by weight of crushed stones and/or pebbles, and 1 to 15 percent by weight of gypsum and/or lime. And the amount of water added to the composition is equivalent to 10 to 40 percent of the total weight of raw materials. The method includes dispensing of raw materials, adding of water, mingling, leaving it piled-up, pressing and molding, steam-bathing and drying to obtain the finished product. Gypsum, one of the raw materials of the slag brick, can be produced from the waste gas generated from the magnesium production process. And, the coal cinder or coal ash generated from the burning of coal in the magnesium production process, can also be used as one of the raw materials of the slag brick.

At gas mixtures greater than the critical amount, small clusters of SiC are etched, before they can become stable nuclei. Abstract: A noise making animal toy having a sealed vessel having a resilient wall that can be deformed when an animal applies pressure to the toy, e.g., by chewing or pouncing on the toy is disclosed. The deformation of the wall of the vessel by application of force produces a noise, which can best be described as a crunching and/or crackling sound, which entertains the animal. The toy includes an outer durable fabric shell enclosing the vessel. The vessel may be made from a plastic beverage bottle.

The framing wall defines an interior surface and a window for viewing of the LCD. A window pane is integrally formed with the window about the outer perimeter of the window and extends laterally outwardly of the perimeter of the window to overlie a portion of the inner surface of the framing wall proximate the window thereby integrating the pane with the framing wall, thereby effecting an extended seal between the pane and the framing wall and simultaneously enhancing the strength and rigidity of the framing wall. In one embodiment, the pane is integrally molded with the framing wall.

Abstract: An automated animal return system for controlling animals, including dogs and other pets, and for automatically returning such animals to a predetermined containment area. The system uses positive reinforcement training so as to avoid the development of animal confusion and nervousness. The system includes a locator for determining the position of the animal relative to a reinforcement/reward zone, a command system for issuing a command to the animal when the animal is detected within a first boundary zone located beyond the reward zone, to encourage the animal to return to the reward zone, and a positive reinforcement system for providing a reinforcer to the animal when the locator system detects that the animal has returned to the reward zone from the first boundary zone in response to the command. The reinforcer may be an audible reinforcer or an edible reinforcer or both.

Abstract: A handy device for repelling deer from destroying flowers and fruits in a small garden is invented. The scaring effect guaranteed to drive animals away is generated in two steps: the first one is to issue a sequence of multi-frequency ultrasonic waves toward the approaching animals detected by a sensor, followed by sudden expansion of a party blower like air expander. The pressured air for expanding air expander can be pressurized by an air pump or direct using of a pressurized air can.

Abstract: A heating system has a heating unit with a combustion chamber for burning wood pellets or other pelletized fuel. The heating unit is controlled by a process control module that automatically keeps all operating functions within predetermined limits for safe, efficient and easy operation. The unit also includes a combustion air distribution assembly with a stir shaft that rotates within the combustion chamber and introduces combustion air through orifices along the length of the shaft to enhance fuel combustion. A thermo cycle plumbing assembly serves as a safety feature by preventing overheating in the event of a power failure or pump failure. Also included in the unit is a removable insulated firebox burn chamber that provides a high temperature combustion atmosphere and a heat/particulate recovery module which provides maximum heating efficiency and reduces emissions, meeting EPA requirements and contributing to a cleaner environment.

Abstract: A system and method for quickly cooling and de-pressurizing a boiler arrangement in the event of a plant power loss, a.k.a. a black plant condition. A steam discharge system injects steam from the steam/water circuit into the furnace, thereby both cooling components of the boiler arrangement and reducing pressure in the steam/water circuit. This reduces or eliminates the additional cost associated with providing extra capacity in a steam drum and/or an independently powered boiler water pump. The system and method is particularly useful for quickly cooling the U-beams of a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler during a black plant condition. In application to boiler arrangements with a selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) system employing steam as a carrier for a NOx reducing agent, the steam discharge system advantageously uses the discharge nozzles of the SNCR system to inject the steam into the furnace.
