  • Publication number: 20090265828
Abstract: There is provided an exercise garment according to which the exercise performance in various types of exercise accompanied by rotation of the trunk and movement of the arms can be sufficiently improved. With the exercise garment 1, when the exercise garment 1 is being worn, tightening forces due to first tightening portions 21 act on the scapulae and the scapula-surrounding muscle groups, so that the scapulae and the scapula-surrounding muscle groups are supported such that the extent of mobility of the scapulae is broadened when the wearer cares out rotation of the trunk or movement of the arms. Moreover, the tightening force due to one of the first tightening portions 21 is transmitted to the other first tightening portion 21 via second tightening portions 22. As a result, movement of one scapula linked to the movement of the other scapula is promoted, and hence the extent of mobility of the scapulae is further broadened.

Abstract: A fluid safety liner includes a liner of closed-cell foam that uses a series of channels and reservoirs to spread forces and distribute fluid contained within the liner throughout different areas of the liner. The liner is useable in protective gear such as a helmet and has a shape that conforms to the area of protection. The channel and reservoir system generally includes a mesh of coupled channels and reservoirs in the closed-cell foam. The channel and reservoir system also generally includes an incompressible fluid movable throughout the system for redistributing pressure and absorbing the force of any impact through viscous flow. The reduction in peak force and lengthening of the duration of the force reduces the biomechanical severity (e.g. HIC, Head Injury Criterion) of a blow to the protective gear.

Abstract: A device (100) is described, together with a continuous dyeing process with indigo and reduction dyes for warp yarn chains (3) and/or fabrics. The device (100) comprising at least one hermetically sealed dyeing compartment (1), and at least one hermetically sealed compartment (2) for the diffusion and fixing of the dye on the yarn (3). The compartment (2) is situated downstream of the dyeing compartment (1) and is functionally and hermetically connected to the dyeing compartment (1) by means of a tunnel (4). Means (12) are present inside the compartments (1, 2) and tunnel (4), for the entry of inert gas or deoxygenated air. One or more means (14, 14?) for the direct application of the dye onto the yarn (3) are also present inside the dyeing compartment (1), whereas at least one tank (8) for humidifying the environment and at least one means (7) for heating the yarn (3) leaving the dyeing compartment (1), are present in the compartment (2).

Abstract: An impact attenuating device includes both concave and convex side walls, e.g., in an interleaved arrangement, optionally at least partially surrounded by a restraining element that may help return the impact attenuating device back to its original orientation after attenuating an impact. Such impact attenuating devices may be included in pieces of footwear and/or other foot-receiving devices. Additionally, such impact attenuating devices or portions thereof may be freely selected and/or interchanged in a piece of footwear or other foot-receiving device, e.g., based on one or more characteristics of an intended user and/or an intended use, so as to allow users to obtain footwear (or other devices) customized and targeted for use under a predetermined set of conditions.

Abstract: This invention is related to an electric brush that provides a correct, harmless and easy brushing for the human oral health and cleaning, it also may be used in the therapeutic hygiene of handicapped persons and even in veterinary use for related animals. It has reloadable batteries. It includes a reversible electric motor, a reducer gear cage, a cylindrical or conic brush with special bristles in all its surface (360°), a cabling and electric switches of 3 position that achieves a complete EFFICIENT ROTATION of the brush in 2 directions manually changeable, one of them clockwise and the other one counterclockwise to make the brushing of the teeth in the right direction required and recommended by the dentists for the gums of each maxillary. This is the only one brush that due to its design of shape and bristles and its reducer gear cage that balances and harmonizes the speed-force-torque for an EFFICIENT ROTATION, gets an EFFICIENT AND HARMLESS BRUSHING without harmful side effects.

Abstract: The present invention provides a cleaning device such as a vacuum, hand sweeper, mop, broom, or the like, with a pivoting joint on the arm and having a wheel rotatably secured to the joint. The pivoting joint and overall low profile design allows the cleaning device to clean surfaces under low objects which would otherwise require repositioning of the object. There is also provided a wheel on the pivoting joint which both assists in using the cleaning device, and protects the integrity of the pivoting joint and the floor. A telescoping arm may be provided to assist the user in cleaning when the cleaning device is configured for cleaning under low objects.

Abstract: Recycled paper pulp is processed to form a rigid paint tray base. The paint tray base is then laminated with a film, which may be fully or partially recyclable and/or biodegradable. The film prevents saturation of the pulp from the paint's moisture, which would damage the integrity of the pulp. Once the painting is completed, the film may be separated from the pulp base. The pulp base may then be discarded with wastepaper or used for compost. The film may be recycled or disposed of with other non-biodegradable waste.
