Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a three-dimensional nonwoven, a manufacturing line for implementing this process and the resulting three-dimensional nonwoven product. Process characterized in that it consists in using a folding element (5) to apply, to an incoming web containing a proportion of thermoplastic fibres and/or filaments or fixing material, an initial fixing of the fold of the incoming web in the form of peaks and troughs, brought about by blades extending radially on ends of the folding element (5), this initial fixing being applied either by maintaining the folding element (5) itself at a set temperature, or by heating the incoming web. The invention is more particularly applicable to the textile industry, especially the manufacture of nonwovens.

Abstract: An actuating assembly for tuning a circuit and a process for forming a carrier substrate containing a membrane, a conductive layer, and piezoelectric actuators are disclosed. The actuating assembly comprises a membrane overlying a circuit to be tuned, a conductive element connected with the membrane, and a piezoelectric arrangement. Changes in shape of the piezoelectric arrangement allow a deflection of the membrane and a corresponding controllable upward or downward movement of the conductive element. In the process, a membrane and a piezoelectric structure are formed on a substrate.

Abstract: Provided is a structure for joining members applicable even to different members. Included are first and second plate-like members 1 and 2 to be joined which are stacked one on the other for face-to-face contact and formed with respective, mutually contiguous holes 3 and 4, a fastening member 5 formed with a threaded hole 20 contiguous with the holes 3 and 4 of the members 1 and 2 and abutting on the member 1 on a side away from the member 2 and an auxiliary member 7 inserted into the holes 20, 3 and 4 of the members 5, 1 and 2. Due to frictional heat and plastic flow, material derived from the member 7 is adapted to enter into a threaded groove on an inner periphery of the hole 20 of the member 5 and cover a circumference of the hole 4 of the member 2 so as to join the members 1 and 2 together.

Abstract: According to the present invention, penetrators can be adequately determined as flaws. In particular, a welded zone of a pipe is subjected to ultrasonic flaw detection at least in a pipe axial direction, and the quality of the pipe is evaluated using observed values in units of a predetermined area in a pipe thickness direction and the pipe axial direction. The length of one side of the predetermined area is an ultrasound beam width or more and a pipe thickness or less. The quality of the pipe can be evaluated while shifting the predetermined area in the pipe axial direction by using an average value of the observed values within the predetermined area. The length of one side of the predetermined area can be made an ultrasound beam width or more and a pipe thickness or less.
