Abstract: A functional element-mounted module can be decreased in size and requires no costly and special members for a light transition member. A substrate is used, on which an optical functional element having an optical function part and bonding pads therearound is mounted by wire bonding, with an upper face of the element upward. A bank to dam a liquid sealing resin is provided around the optical functional element on the substrate, and the liquid sealing resin is dropped and filled between the optical functional element and the bank such that the bonding pads and partial gold wires for the wire bonding are exposed. A package-component member having a hole corresponding to the optical functional element is abutted to the bank such that the hole is opposed to the function part of the functional element. Thereby, the package-component member is contacted to the liquid sealing resin. The package-component member is fixed to the substrate by curing the liquid sealing resin, and the bank is cut away.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a compliant leaded interposer for resiliently attaching and electrically connecting a ball grid array package to a circuit board. The interposer may include a substrate, a plurality of pads, and a plurality of pins. The plurality of pads may be positioned substantially on the top surface of the substrate and arranged in a predetermined pattern substantially corresponding to the solder ball pattern on the ball grid array package. The plurality of pins may be positioned substantially perpendicular to the substrate and may extend through the substrate and the plurality of pads. The interposer may be configured to attach the ball grid array package to the circuit board such that each of the solder balls on the ball grid array package contacts at least a portion the plurality of pins and at least a portion of the plurality of pads and such that the each of the plurality of pins also connects to a contact on the circuit board.

Abstract: A method for fabricating thin DITO or SITO touch sensor panels with a thickness less than a minimum thickness tolerance of existing manufacturing equipment. In one embodiment, a sandwich of two thin glass sheets is formed such that the combined thickness of the glass sheets does not drop below the minimum thickness tolerance of existing manufacturing equipment when thin film process is performed on the surfaces of the sandwich during fabrication. The sandwich may eventually be separated to form two thin SITO/DITO panels. In another embodiment, the fabrication process involves laminating two patterned thick substrates, each having at least the minimum thickness tolerance of existing manufacturing equipment. One or both of the sides of the laminated substrates are then thinned so that when the substrates are separated, each is a thin DITO/SITO panel having a thickness less than the minimum thickness tolerance of existing manufacturing equipment.

Abstract: A flexible printed circuit board has an insulation layer, a first signal wiring layer including a microstrip line, a second signal wiring layer including a signal connection terminal for allowing the microstrip line to connect the exterior connector electrically, and a ground conductive section having a ground connection terminal for connecting the exterior connector. The microstrip line and the signal connection terminal are connected to each other by a wiring via hole. The wiring via hole passes through the insulation layer, the first signal wiring layer, and the second signal wiring layer. The microstrip line has a taper section which gradually enlarges a width of the microstrip line toward the wiring via hole in the vicinity of the wiring via hole. The ground conductive section that corresponds to the microstrip line has a taper section with a shape matching the taper section of the microstrip line.

Abstract: Twist pin z-axis interconnectors are assembled in columns of aligned vias in stacked printed circuit boards of a circuit module in automated assembly cycles. Each assembly cycle involves singulating a single twist pin from a plurality of twist pins, inserting the twist pin into the via column, gripping a leader portion of the twist pin, pulling the gripped leader portion until a connection portion moves into contact with the vias of the column, severing the leader portion from the connection portion, extracting the severed leader portion, and automatically repeating assembly cycles until interconnectors have been assembled into a substantial majority of the via columns of the circuit module.

Abstract: With a method for finish-machining the blade tips of rotor wheels made in BLISK design, the rotor wheel or multi-stage compressor rotor (1), is machined—blade by blade and stage by stage—at the blade tips (2) by a conical cutter (5) whose cutting edge (6) is oriented tangentially to the outside surface of the rotor wheel/compressor rotor and routed on the blade tip essentially along the centerline thereof, with the cutting force being introduced vertically to the tool axis and in the stiffest direction of the blade (3), i.e. the centerline (11) of the blade cross-section and the vertical axis extending from the centerline. The cutting action and the force introduction of the conical cutter at the blade tip allow production of blade tips with a geometrically precisely defined edge without setting the respective blades into vibration.
