Abstract: The present invention relates to a combination hood and scarf garment developed to maintain the wearer's full front body, upper back, shoulders, full neck, ears, full head, and face insulated from the cold weather. This garment is designed with a long scarf whose strips of fabric can be fastened together with buttons to provide full coverage of the wearer's body, much like a blanket. The flexibility of the design allows the wearer to unfasten the strips of fabric and use them as a scarf to insulate the neck and shoulders. Designed without a full back and any sleeves allows this garment to be folded flat and compact enough to fit inside a conventional purse or handbag when not in use. The hood is designed with special curvatures that coincide with the shape of the wearer's head and neck so as to minimize any folding or wrinkling of the fabric.

A switch on the glove allows a user to turn the glove on and off or switch colors, for example, from amber, to red to green. The circuit may be battery powered and the switch may be adapted to allow the glove to alternate between a variety of modes. The device is suitable for various applications recreational, safety, emergency and other low-light applications.

The garment includes a jacket portion and a pants portion and fastener devices that selectively connect the pants portion to the jacket portion. The garment is configured so that the user can use the toilet without getting out of the garment. In some embodiments the garment is a fire protection coverall. A method of lowering the pants portion from the jacket portion of a one-piece garment is also provided.

Abstract: A controllable ribbed thermoinsulative chamber of continually adjustable thickness, which is used to pneumatically determine its thermal conductivity. Described is the manner of constructing such a chamber and the manner of controlling it. The abovementioned chamber is used in designing articles of clothing with a self-regulating thermal insulation. One or more chambers are used in the construction, together with adequate devices for controlling and monitoring the workings of thermoinsulative chambers. Special attention is paid to the construction of forced ventilation of the garments designed in the above way. The garments designed in the above way are suitable for police usage, maintenance services, watchmen services, security of the open objects and premises, workers in cold storages, athletes like mountain climbers, alpinists, sailing boaters and the like, wherever the temperature of the environment is radically changed in the course of usage.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of manufacturing a ceramic hinge to connect two ceramic bodies, comprising the steps of: shaping a separation insert in the form of a hinge, introducing the separation insert into a ceramic body, thereby separating the ceramic body into a first part and a second part; and heating the ceramic body and the separation insert of the ceramic body up to the sintering temperature of the ceramic body. The separation insert creates either a cavity in the case of a combustible insert or a soft pad in the case of a ceramic fiber based insert within the ceramic body. This cavity or soft pad allows a hinge or rotary movement between the first part and the second part of the ceramic body. The first part and the second part of the ceramic body can therefore freely rotate or hinge around one another.

The privacy curtain is a tubular cape of flexible material, without rigid frame members, having open top and bottom ends. The open bottom end is sized to fit around the base of a portable toilet, and the open top end is expandable via a partial vertical zipper extending from the cape's top front edge partway down the front of the cap, so that a person can easily step into the cape after the cape has been pre-positioned around a toilet and then zip the cape back up to use the toilet. Abstract: A swimming pool designed for stationary swimming uses Venturi-based eductor jets to generate a forceful water flow augmented by entrained pool water drawn from within the pool enclosure. The eductor jets use the kinetic energy of the inlet flow to entrain the low-pressure pool water, completely mix the two, and then discharge the mixture as an augmented outlet flow. The energy from the motive inlet flow is transferred to the entrained pool water via the Venturi effect. As the motive inlet water passes through a tapered nozzle in the eductor jet, kinetic energy increases and pressure decreases. This produces a Venturi effect which draws surrounding pool water into the Venturi orifice of the eductor jet. Consequently, the volume of the outlet flow from the eductor jets is 3 to 5 times the volume of the inlet flow. A larger and more powerful stream of water is thereby discharged into the pool enclosure and provides optimal resistance for in-place swimming in an energy-efficient manner.
