Abstract: A mechanical safe and arm device for rotating munitions reduces arming scatter so that the “no arm” and “all arm” distance are substantially the same. A first spring holds a flywheel, a pinion gear, and a drive gear against rotation until centrifugal forces cause the spring to release them. The drive gear then rotates, causing rotation of the pinion gear and the flywheel. A post depending from the flywheel strikes and unlocks a second spring that unlocks a pivotally-mounted rotor that carries a detonator. The rotor then pivots and brings the detonator into alignment with a firing pin.

Abstract: The invention uses an input signal directly from a fuel flow device to control the amount of ammonia injected into a flue gas stream for NOx reduction for boilers. The control system receives a signal directly from a fuel flow device that indicates the amount of fuel flow and corresponding NOx emissions. The signal is processed using an algorithm with a multi-loop controller and an ammonia mass flow control valve with temperature and pressure corrections to determine how much ammonia must be injected into the flue gas in the presence of a catalyst to achieve the desired NOx emissions reductions. A dilution air blower transports ammonia to an injection grid and subsequently, the ammonia reacts with the flue gas in the presence of a catalyst to reduce the amount of NOx emissions to the desired level.

A coolant is in fluid communication with the channel of the electrode for reducing the temperature of the electrode. A channel coating is disposed in the interior surface of the electrode for preventing loss of heat transfer between the coolant and the interior surface.

Abstract: A vapor deposition device includes a base, a hollow rod, a bracket, four bearing seats, and an ion source. The base defines a through hole and four grooves in one surface thereof. The hollow rod is inserted in the through hole and defines four vents in the circumferential direction thereof. The vents point to the upper space of the grooves correspondingly. The hollow rod includes a closed end and an opposite opened end. The bracket is connected to the closed end. The bearing seats are fixed to the bracket so that the bearing seats face the grooves respectively. The ion source is coupled to the opened end. Ions emitted by the ion source are guided by the hollow rod to the vents and the upper spaces of the grooves respectively.

Abstract: A portable apparatus for milking animals, that can be carried by a person to any location, preferably in a bag such as a hand bag, side bag or backpack. The portable apparatus includes a carrying device, a power unit including a vacuum pipeline, a milk pipeline having a milk reservoir, and a milking claw unit, having one or more teat-cups. The vacuum pipeline provides suction force to the teat-cups that operatively draw milk from the animal udder. The milk pipeline operatively connects the teat-cups to the milk reservoir. Vacuum force further creates partial vacuum in the milk reservoir, and along with gravity the drawn milk flows to the milk reservoir. The portable apparatus can be used to milk animals located at sites accessible only by foot. The portable apparatus can be used to milk colostrums after parturition, and to milk animals having infected udder/teat.

Abstract: A teat cup shell for holding a milking liner includes a body being made from a first material. The body has an upper end, a lower end; and a middle portion with the upper end adapted to receive the teat of the animal being milked. One configuration of the body may have enlarged upper and lower ends to define a dog-bone shape. The middle portion of the body may define gripping features at its middle portion. The body of the shell has a first weight. An insert is carried by the body with the insert being heavier than the remaining portion of the body. The insert is disposed closer to the lower end of the body than the upper end of the body such that the center of mass of the shell is disposed in the lower two-thirds of the shell.

Abstract: A device for feeding animals is provided, the device having an upwardly open enclosure further including a lip disposed about the open portion of the enclosure, a sidewall disposed about the enclosure; and a bottom surface disposed in the interior of the enclosure within the confines of the sidewall. A plurality of upwardly open feeding compartments is disposed in the bottom surface of the enclosure. The feeding compartments further include a shaped sidewall disposed about the compartment and a compartment bottom enclosed within the confines of the shaped sidewall. The compartments are shaped so as to slow the consumption of feed to a safe rate of eating for the animal. The total volume of the compartments equals a single ration of food. The enclosure and sidewall are dimensioned to reduce distractions while the animal is eating and promote freedom of movement of the jaw and neck of the animal during feeding.
