Abstract: A cord locking system is provided that allows a user to easily, rapidly, and effectively lock/unlock a lace in one single-handed, swift motion. The locking device includes a pair of arms that can freely rotate around a swivel point within a base that lock teeth against the lace by using compression forces controlled by a spring. The arrangement of the arms protrude outside the base for easy engagement/disengagement, with a mechanical advantage using leverage to reduce the required forces to act against the spring force at the teeth. The arms are configured in a curved scissors-like handle for an easy swift grasp contoured to the shape of your fingers with a single-handed motion. The most basic application is in outdoor sports, such as snowboarding. A snowboard rider can easily lock the boot laces with a swift motion and just as easily disengage the locking device under harsh, frozen, winter conditions while wearing gloves.

Rotation of the rotational inner blade body rotates the holding pieces and produces a flow of washing liquid directed from slits in an outer blade via the interior cavity and toward the disposal port. A guide wall facing toward the flow of liquid efficiently discharges liquid arcuately flowing around the interior cavity together with nose hair clippings from the nose hair trimmer and washes the interior cavity.

Abstract: A domestic appliance comprises a functional action unit (3) which has at least one movably arranged member, and further comprises means (15) for generating electric energy at the location of the unit (3). The means (15) for generating electric energy are associated with the movably arranged member, and are adapted to employ movement of this member in a process of generating electric energy. In a practical embodiment, the means (15) for generating electric energy comprise a permanent magnet (16) and an electric coil (18), wherein the magnet (16) may be mounted on the movably arranged member. By having the means (15) for generating electric energy at a location inside the functional action unit (3), it is possible to have one or more electric components at a location inside this unit (3) as well.

Abstract: One embodiment of folding knife using a mechanical linear slide action blade deployment system housed in a predetermined shaped cavity (28). Said slide action blade deployment system is comprised of a sliding member (1) made of a heat treated steel alloy and coated for low friction and high wear. Sliding member (1) is actuated by short linear thumb pressure on a sloped tab (5) located on top handle (2), thus transmitting sliding force from sliding member leading edge to blade opening pin (13) made of heat treated and coated for low friction and high wear attached to blade (3) axle at a predetermined location. This action causes blade top rotate out of handle to the locked open position. Thumb actuated sloped tab on top handle returns to starting position via a sloped tab return spring (16) housed in a cavity between inside top handle and top liner (11).

Abstract: A locking mechanism for a folding knife includes a thumb post which longitudinally moves along slots in the handle of the knife. The thumb post is urged by a spring loaded locking lever into a notch in the base of the blade of the knife. When so positioned the thumb post retains the blade in an extended position. When the user pushes the thumb post out of the notch, the blade can be folded into the handle of the knife. In another embodiment the thumb post is an integral part of the locking lever, and it is a tab on the locking lever rather than the thumb post engages the notch in the base of the blade.
