Publication number: 20110146055Abstract: First, a box 5 molded from a resin is prepared such as to have a rectangular parallelepiped outer form with a pair of grooves on the bottom face and a semispherical recess 9. Subsequently, a photocurable resin agent 27 is applied to a bottom area 12 of the recess 10 in the box 5. Then, while a light transmitting mold 28 having a bottom face formed with a plurality of grating grooves arranged in a row along a predetermined direction is pressed against the applied resin agent 27, the resin agent 27 is cured by irradiation with light, so as to provide the area 12 in the recess 10 with the grating 29 formed with a plurality of grating grooves. Next, Al, Au, or the like is vapor-deposited so as to cover the grating 29, thereby forming a reflecting film 15. Then, a photodetector 4 is accommodated in a package 2. This can easily manufacture a highly reliable spectrometer.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2009Publication date: June 23, 2011Applicant: HAMAMATSU PHOTONICS K.K.Inventor: Katsumi Shibayama

First, a roll element is fabricated by a roll-based manufacturing process and by using a material feeder, and the roll element is cut into many sheet elements by using a cutter. An inserting device is used to insert the sheet elements into a temporary storage device, and an extracting device is used to extract the sheet elements from the temporary storage device and place the sheet elements on another roll element fabricated by another roll-based manufacturing process and by using another material feeder. The sheet elements and the other roll element are combined. The roll elements and sheet elements may be vibrating membranes and porous electrodes of a flat speaker.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2010Publication date: June 23, 2011Applicant: INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH INSTITUTEInventors: Chang-Ho Liou, Wei-Chung Lee, Ming-Daw Chen

Publication number: 20110146057Abstract: A method for assembling an electrical circuit includes measuring actual values of components of a given type that are held in a stock, and storing the measured actual values in a computerized stock-record. An actual property of an electrical circuit under assembly is determined. Based on the determined actual property, and on a specified response of the circuit, a required value is calculated for a set of one or more of the components of the given type. Responsively to the calculated required value, the stock-record is searched, and a set of one or more of the components is selected from the stock and assembled into the circuit.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2009Publication date: June 23, 2011Inventor: Ran Glazer

Publication number: 20110146058Abstract: Respective divided segments of a collet are moved radially outward by moving an arbor axially. The respective divided segments thereby press an inner circumferential surface of a stator core of a stator from radially inside such that the stator is held coaxially by the collet. Next, shaping rollers are lowered so as to press an outer circumferential surface of the stator core. The stator is rotated by rotating the collet in that state. Thus, the inner circumferential surface of the stator core is compressed and plastically deformed so as to conform to the collet and the outer circumferential surface of the stator core is compressed and plastically deformed by the shaping rollers, correcting the inner circumferential surface and the outer circumferential surface of the stator core so as to be coaxial and so as to have a high degree of roundness.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2011Publication date: June 23, 2011Applicant: MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC CORPORATIONInventors: Yoshihiro HARADA, Toshiaki Kashihara, Kensaku Kuroki, Yasukazu Nishimura, Shogo Okamoto, Shinji Nishimura

Publication number: 20110146059Abstract: In a manufacturing method for a head gimbal assembly, before mounting a slider on a suspension, coating films each made of solder are formed on respective terminals of a plurality of leads to be connected to a plurality of electrode pads of the slider. After mounting the slider on the suspension, the coating films are heated with laser light to thereby melt the solder, with the respective terminals of the plurality of leads in contact with the corresponding electrode pads via the respective coating films, whereby the terminals are electrically and physically connected to the electrode pads.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2009Publication date: June 23, 2011Applicant: SAE MAGNETICS (H.K.) Publication number: 20110146060Abstract: A perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) head is fabricated with a pole tip shielded laterally by a separated pair of side shields and shielded from above by an upper shield. The side shields are formed by a RIE process using specific gases applied to a shield layer through a masking layer formed of material that has a slower etch rate than the shield material. A masking layer of Ta, Ru/Ta, TaN or Ti, formed on a shield layer of NiFe and using RIE gases of CH3OH, CO or NH3 or their combinations, produces the desired result. The differential in etch rates maintains the opening dimension within the mask and allows the formation of a wedge-shaped trench within the shield layer that separates the layer into two shields. The pole tip is then plated within the trench and, being aligned by the trench, acquires the wedge-shaped cross-section of the trench. An upper shield is then formed above the side shields and pole.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2011Publication date: June 23, 2011Inventors: Cherng-Chyi Han, Min Li, Fenglin Liu, Jiun-Ting Lee

Publication number: 20110146061Abstract: A method for manufacturing a magnetoresistive sensor that results in the sensor having a very flat top magnetic shield. The process involves depositing a plurality of sensor layers and then depositing a thin high density carbon CMP stop layer over the sensor layers and forming a mask over the CMP stop layer. An ion milling is performed to define the sensor. Then a thin insulating layer and magnetic hard bias layer are deposited. A chemical mechanical polishing is performed to remove the mask and a reactive ion etching is performed to remove the remaining carbon CMP stop layer. Because the CMP stop layer is very dense and hard, it can be made very thin. This means that when it is removed by reactive ion etching, there is very little notching over the sensor, thereby allowing the upper shield (deposited there-over) to be very thin.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2009Publication date: June 23, 2011Inventors: Shin Funada, Quang Le, Thomas L.
