Abstract: A roll seal assembly for use on a dry suit for diving and other applications where water-tight sealing of garments is demanded. The seal joins a first tubular body to a second tubular body. The first tubular body has an extension comprising a third tubular body. The second tubular body has an extension comprising a fourth tubular body. The roll seal is formed by connecting the open ends of the third and fourth extensions using a fastener and then rolling the fastened ends over a stiff but pliable band.

Abstract: A cloth for swimsuits includes synthetic fiber multifilament yarns and elastic fibers, wherein a front surface and a back surface of the cloth have a water-repellent finish(es); bumps and hollows are formed on the back surface; the bumps and hollows on the back surface have a height difference of 150 ?m to 650 ?m; and the hollows have a width of 100 ?m to 5000 ?m.

Abstract: A decorative swim/bath/shower tuque worn by a swimmer/bather/showerer, respectively, having voluminous hair with a length. The decorative swim/bath/shower tuque has dual lengths so as to adjust to the length of the voluminous hair of the swimmer/bather/showerer. The decorative swim/bath/shower tuque includes a sleeve, a dome, and a folded brim. The sleeve has a lower end and an upper end, and is worn by the swimmer/bather/showerer. The dome closes the upper end of the sleeve. The folded brim defines the lower end of the sleeve, and has the dual lengths so as to adjust the sleeve to the length of the voluminous hair of the swimmer/bather/showerer.

Abstract: An adjustable collar stay device, including a body structure including a length extensible portion coupled to a width extensible portion. The length extensible portion includes a sleeve structure disposed about a first track structure, wherein the sleeve structure is configured to translate with respect to the first track structure, thereby extending the length of the length extensible portion. The width extensible portion includes a first body member disposed about a second track structure, wherein the second track structure is configured to translate with respect to the first body member, thereby extending the width of the width extensible portion. The width extensible portion further includes a second body member coupled to the second track structure.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to apparel and/or clothing accessories containing a fluid container. In particular, disclosed are systems and methods for providing apparel and/or accessories that selectively contain a fluid container that can be filled with a drinkable liquid. The apparel item may include any clothing or object that is adapted to be worn by a person, such as a necktie. In some cases, the apparel item is made to receive and retain a liquid-tight container within an internal compartment of the apparel. A flexible tube is connected to the container and runs from within the apparel item out, so that a wearer can drink fluid from the container through the flexible tube. Additionally, in some cases, when inflated, the container provides a pillow or cushion.

Abstract: A method of producing a graphic on a substrate includes receiving an image, determining a print pattern corresponding to the image, and replicating the print pattern as a graphic on a substantially flat, flexible and contiguous substrate. The print pattern is bounded by a cut pattern that represents multiple layflat components of a functional, three dimensional object. Determining the print pattern includes mapping selected portions of the image onto selected portions of the cut pattern, and altering the mapped portions of the image based on at least one of an expected three dimensional topography associated with a component and an expected seam area associated with the component.

Abstract: A riding glove having particular application to be worn over the hand of one riding a bicycle to warm the fingers and thumb of the rider in cold or windy weather conditions. The riding glove includes an optional inner insert having relatively long finger and thumb sleeves into which the rider slides his fingers and thumb. A conventional outer glove member having relatively short finger and thumb sleeves, through which the longer finger and thumb sleeves of the inner insert are received, is pulled over the inner insert. The outer conventional glove member can be worn over the rider's hand in combination with or independently of the inner insert.

Abstract: The present invention is an article of headwear that is adjustable so as to accommodate a wide range of head sizes comprised of at least a crown portion that substantially covers scalp of the wearer. Proximate the lowest edge of the crown portion is a headband permanently affixed thereto that is stretchable in all directions. The headband is comprised of a ribbon of stretchable rubber that may be fully or partially enclosed within one or more pieces of the same or different strength stretchable material. In all embodiments of the present invention, the ends of the rubber band and stretchable material may be attached so as to make a complete circumference around the lowest edge of the crown portion of the headgear.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to sport headscarf comprising a hood defining an opening allowing the sport headscarf to be worn on a wearer's head, and an attachment for allowing release of the hood upon application of a predetermined force. The present disclosure also relates to a sport headscarf comprising a combination including a hood and a head band and an attachment for allowing release of the hood upon application of a predetermined force. The sport headscarf may safely be worn during a sporting event.

Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide ski pants comprising an edge guard that does not hinder movement when the user is gliding on skis. The invention relates to ski pants 1 comprising an edge guard 3 on the inner thigh side of the bottom section 2 between the bottom edge of the bottom 4 and the area below the knee, the edge guard 3 being a shock absorbing body such as an elastic solid or viscoelastic body.

Abstract: A method is provided for designing a garment having a plurality of surfaces. The method includes selecting at least one surface from the plurality of surfaces to serve as a tactile stimulating surface. The method further includes selecting a texture for the at least one surface, different from that of at least a majority of the plurality of surfaces, configured to provide tactile stimulation to a touch sensing organ.

Abstract: Appropriately placed objects may aid in applying various types of apparel. A first object may be placed on left footwear/handwear and a second object may be placed on right footwear/handwear. An object that is similar looking to the first object may be placed on the left side of apparel. An object similar looking to the second object may be placed on the right side of apparel. An orientation for donning the footwear/handwear may be determined based on the location of the objects and the similarity between objects.

Abstract: There is provided in a preferred embodiment of the present invention a collar stud assembly comprising a spherical magnet and an outer assembly. The outer assembly includes a frame which houses a magnet. The magnet of the frame and the spherical magnet are of opposite polarities and hold an inner collar and an outer collar of shirt between them when engaged. The outer assembly further includes an indent which holds the spherical magnet in a fixed position relative to the outer assembly.

Abstract: Shirt stays that contain two elongate straps so that they are designed and have the ability to be both disconnected and reconnected are disclosed. The end of one strap is designed to be connected to a shirt and the other end of the strap is to be connected to one end of a second strap. The other end of the second strap is designed to remain in close proximity to the wearer's ankle.

Abstract: A self-adhering, disposable headwear liner assembly having a topsheet layer, an absorbent core layer and a moisture barrier layer non-adhesively joined to each other, and a plurality of straight channels extending through the topsheet layer and the absorbent core layer and extending partially into the moisture barrier layer, wherein the topsheet layer, the absorbent core layer and the moisture barrier layer each comprise fibers and the fibers of adjacent layers are mechanically interlocked to join the topsheet layer to the absorbent core layer and the absorbent core layer to the moisture barrier layer; and an adhesive layer joined to the moisture barrier layer capable of securing the liner to the internal band of headwear.

Abstract: Clip-type fasteners for suspenders, particularly for pants (trousers, slacks, etc.) as well as suspenders with clip-type fasteners. The fasteners have a secure locking mechanism and have all of its components made of non-metallic materials, such as plastic, graphite, or composite materials. Preferably, the fasteners also have slots or rings for attachment to, and adjustment of, suspender straps. The suspender straps preferably have a plurality of tiny loop members along one entire side of the straps. Pieces of hook-type material are positioned on the straps in order to allow the length and fit of the suspender straps to be easily adjusted.

Abstract: A safety hat for use by construction workers is disclosed. The safety hat is fabricated from a hard plastic type material or other equivalent impact resistant materials. The safety hat is in the general shape of existing baseball type caps. The safety hat has a hollow brim portion to receive the brim of the typical soft baseball cap and thereby secure the safety hat to the baseball cap so that the safety hat fits securely and comfortably on the users head.

Abstract: Safety head wear for use for example in high risk activities such as sports and industrial purposes where protection from head injuries is required. Components are provided inserted between the liner and outer shell and consists of two parts; a chamber or bladder and a fluid or gel like material. The fluid or gel material is contained in the chamber or bladder and is positioned in such a way to create low friction between the surface of the shell and liner or liner and head. It can also be used on the outer surface of the shell or placed within two layers of the liner. The device provides a method of independently managing both compression and shear force characteristics of the helmet around the head designed to decrease brain trauma resulting from high linear and angular acceleration during impacts to the helmet.

The fabric contains 40 to 65% by weight of modacrylic fibers based on the fabric weight, the modacrylic fibers containing at least 8% by weight of antimony oxide relative to the resin weight of the modacrylic fibers, 26 to 45% by weight of natural cellulosic fibers, 5 to 15% by weight of nylon fibers, and 1 to 20% by weight of para-aramid fibers, and arc protection work clothing can be made from the fabric.

Abstract: An electrically conductive protective garment ensemble worn as an electric stun device misuse countermeasure comprising a variety of clothing articles made from metal coated fabrics with each individual clothing article selectively fastened to another in a manner as to ensure electrical continuity throughout the garment ensemble and to an electrical ground. An electric stun device will be effectively short circuited to itself and/or to an electrical ground when the stun voltage is applied to the garment ensemble and be rendered inoperable.

Abstract: The present disclosure further provides a toilet for exhausting odorous air therefrom, comprising a bowl, a trap, a housing, a self-contained ventilation system, a water tank, and a water supply line. The bowl has a rim therearound wherein the bowl communicates with the rim. The main trap is contained in the bowl wherein the trap is for communicating the contents in the bowl with a drain conduit so as to provide a passageway from the bowl to a drain stack. The ventilation system includes an exhaust blower having a blower inlet and a blower outlet. The blower inlet is in communication with air space between the contents in the bowl and the rim. The blower outlet is in communication with the drain conduit downstream from the trap. The exhaust blower including a cut-off switch for deactivating the exhaust blower during a flush.

Abstract: A system for preventing overflow of a toilet includes a sensor, a processor and an actuator. The sensor senses a parameter caused by fluid dynamics within the toilet during a flush cycle. The parameter may involve vibration, sound, pressure, fluid flow rate or other detectible characteristics of the toilet. The processor uses information regarding the parameter that is gathered by the sensor to evaluate the condition of the flush cycle to determine if an impeded flush condition exists. In the event of an impeded flush condition, the processor directs the actuator to close a valve, which may be the toilet flapper valve in some embodiments. Also disclosed are methods for preventing toilet overflow, detecting an impeded flush condition and calibrating the system.

Abstract: To prevent an overflow in a toilet system having a tank in fluid communication with a bowl and having a flapper style flush valve, the invention suggests using a baffle assembly mountable between the tank and the bowl. A water level sensor is positioned in the bowl and sends an out-of-range signal to a solenoid, which causes a pivotal baffle plate to close a fluid path between the tank and the bowl.

Abstract: An automatic water leveling device for a swimming pool comprising: a cylinder attached to an edge of the swimming pool; a float suspended from a line within the cylinder, where the float rests upon the water within the cylinder; a magnetic contact attached to the float; drain magnets attached towards the top of the cylinder; and fill magnets attached toward the bottom of the cylinder. The automatic water leveling device adjusts the water levels within the swimming pool by activating a drain or spigot associated with the pool. As water levels rise, the float and magnetic contact meet the drain magnets to activate a system to drain the swimming pool. As the water levels lower, the float and magnetic contact meet the fill magnets to activate the system to fill the swimming pool. The system continues to drain or fill the swimming pool until the original water level is achieved.

Thereby, the obstacle may be a moved or stationary solid body or at least one further fluid jet. Spraying is accomplished by way of the outlet including at least one nozzle set with at least two nozzles, for producing impacting fluid jets and for atomizing the fluid.

Abstract: A small and irregular shaped mattress sheet cover system for covering a bunk mattress. The system includes a flexible tubular cover that includes a body slightly smaller in width than a small or irregular shaped bunk mattress and with a closed end and an open end. The body fits longitudinally and snuggly around the bunk mattress. In one embodiment, the bunk mattress is triangular and fits inside pointed berth area on a boat. The cover may include optional end flap and optional pull straps. The method includes the steps of rolling the body into a flat ring configuration, aligning the ring with the end of the mattress, and then longitudinally pull and unrolling the ring over the mattress. The mattress may be folded or compressed inward. The pull straps are used to pull the body over the mattress. The mattress is then allowed to expand and conform to the body.

Abstract: An article for use on a mattress includes a bedding article and means for orienting the bedding article on a mattress. The means for orienting the bedding article on a mattress may be hidden from view when the bedding article is installed on a mattress. The means for orienting the bedding article on a mattress may be one or more of color contrasting sections, indicia, labels, or stitching. The bedding article has two sides, a top end, a bottom, an opening for seating around the bed, an edge around the opening, and four corners, with two corners being at the top end and two corners being at the bottom end. An article for use as a cover for an underlying item is also disclosed, with the article including a cover article and means for orienting the cover article on an underlying item.

Abstract: A modular bracket assembly is provided for use with a field hospital portable bed or a NATO litter. The assembly includes a clamp that can be releasably attached to the pole of a litter. The clamp is formed with a mounting aperture. The assembly also includes a lower support that can be mounted in the mounting aperture of the clamp or in attachment holes of field hospital portable beds or the socket that is formed within each hinge when a collapsible litter. An accessory mount is provided on the lower support and can receive a mounting flange affixed to a medical accessory. An upper support can be mounted on the top end of the lower support and can be used to support medical equipment items and/or IV solutions.

Abstract: An examination table including an integrated scale with automatic taring, weight capture in the presence of patient motion, and automatic table height adjustment. The examination table includes a controller that periodically tares the integrated scale when a patient is not on the table so that the scale is ready to measure the weight of a patient without manual taring by the table operator. When a patient is on the table, the controller detects the presence of patient motion based on signals from load sensors, and captures weights for patients experiencing uncontrolled motion or tremors by averaging and comparing sampled weight values over predetermined periods of time. To insure that the patient is fully supported by the examination table before weighing the patient, the controller automatically adjusts the height of the examination table support surface so that the patient's feet are not touching the floor prior to weighing the patient.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to operating table top assemblies and related devices. In some aspects, an operating table top coupling assembly includes a receiver assembly and a hook assembly. The receiver assembly includes first and second spaced walls that define a central recess therebetween. The hook assembly includes an elongate hook member attached to or integrally formed with a housing that is configured to be at least partially disposed within the central recess of the receiver assembly.

Abstract: A system and method for incorporating occupancy-detecting technology into furniture is provided. More particularly, the invention relates to detecting occupancy using a detection pad coupled a portion of a bed. The detection pad may include an aluminized polymer material, a metalized and/or conductive fabric, an aluminum sheet, a metal screen, an aluminum tape, a wire grid, or other metalized material or fabric. A controller determines the corresponding response based on single-occupancy or dual-occupancy detection by one or more detection pads. A processor receives information regarding changes in capacitance and determines when a change in voltage satisfies a threshold. Based on a determination of occupancy, or lack thereof, a variety of corresponding features of the adjustable bed may be activated.

Abstract: A seat cushion, such as for use in an aircraft passenger seat, including a layer of open cell foam for passenger comfort, a closed cell foam core for flotation and structural support, and support structure positioned on the underside of the seat cushion for directly engaging underlying beams of a seat frame to attach the seat cushion to the seat frame without the need for additional fasteners.

Abstract: A mattress cover is disclosed for redirecting shear on a patient's skin away from the areas of the body relatively more likely to develop decubitus ulcers. The mattress cover includes an upper portion designed to cover the topside of a mattress, and at least one shear transfer zone attached to an underside of the upper portion of the mattress cover. The shear transfer zone(s) may be made of a low shear material so as to create a low friction interface between the mattress and the mattress cover to reduce shear forces exerted by the mattress. Additionally, the shear transfer zone(s) may be arranged such that a large portion of the shear forces exerted by the mattress can be redirected to areas of the body that are relatively less likely to develop decubitus ulcers.

If the current unbalance values are within predetermined intervals, the washing machine performs a spin phase (S1, S2, Smax). If the values are not within the predetermined intervals, the washing machine performs a laundry redistribution phase (R1, R2), after which a further laundry distribution phase (D1, D3) may take place.

Abstract: The invention relates to an article of manufacture minimally comprising a wash soluble composition having at least one laundry benefit on a water-insoluble first substrate such as a nonwoven fabric, and a second laundry wash insoluble substrate adhered the first substrate by means of mutual contact with the wash soluble composition, for use in the laundering process, first in the washer and subsequently at least one substrate carried along with the wet fabrics in the tumble dryer. In this manner, a single article can assist in delivery of multiple laundry benefits to the washed and dried fabrics. The present invention further relates to methods for manufacturing such a laundry article.

Abstract: A washing machine for reducing vibration and noise during a spin-drying cycle, and a control method thereof. According to the washing machine and the control method thereof, cloth piled up randomly in the washing tub is shaken and loosened through the stirring from side to side of the pulsator or the washing tub before water is supplied after putting the cloth therein, so that distribution of the cloth is made uniform to reduce vibration and noise during the spin-drying cycle. Further, unsatisfactory spin-drying due to abnormal vibration is prevented so that it is possible to reduce unnecessary consumption of water and spin-drying time. Further, even when the user does not put detergent in the detergent box but puts it directly onto the cloth, the detergent is shaken by the movement of the cloth, so it is possible to improve washing performance as the detergent and water are mixed well.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a laundry shading process with specific blue or violet bisazo-dyes alone or in combination with a photocatalyst. Further aspects of the invention are a composition comprising at least one photocatalyst and at least one of the specific bisazo-dyes. The composition is particularly useful for shading textiles during laundry. Further aspects of the invention are a detergent composition, a fabric softener composition containing these dyes or mixtures of these dyes and photocatalysts and novel blue or violet bisazo-dyes.

Abstract: A mobile floor cleaning machine is provided, having a chassis on which running wheels are rotatably mounted, and having at least one cleaning unit which has at least one cleaning tool and is coupled to the chassis via a guide member. To improve the floor cleaning machine in such a way that the risk of damage to the floor cleaning machine or to an obstacle in the event of a frontal collision with the obstacle may be minimized, it is proposed that the guide member is elastically deformable in the longitudinal direction of the floor cleaning machine.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for conditioning a processing surface of a cylindrical roller disposed in a brush box is described. In one embodiment, a brush box is described. The brush box includes a tank having an interior volume and a pair of cylindrical rollers at least partially disposed in the interior volume, each of the cylindrical rollers being rotatable about a respective axis, an actuator assembly coupled to each of the cylindrical rollers to move the respective cylindrical roller between a first position where the cylindrical rollers are in proximity and a second position where the cylindrical rollers are spaced away from each other, and a conditioning device for each of the cylindrical rollers, each conditioning device including a conditioner disposed in the interior volume, the conditioner contacting an outer surface of each of the cylindrical rollers when the rollers are in the second position.
