Abstract: A water conservation fixture system comprises a handle lock assembly configured for placement on a handle of a fixture and at least one other structure selected from a fixture drain insert trap assembly, a fixture screen and combinations of both. The handle lock assembly comprises a top component and at least one locking arm pivotally attached to the top component, and the locking arm further comprising a locking element for releasably locking with a mating locking element on the top component. The fixture system may be integrated into existing fixture to significantly reduce or control water usage or otherwise convert the fixture to a low-water or no-water fixture without having to replace the current water-based fixture. The fixture system may also be integrated into new fixtures with corresponding mating features to optimize fit and function of the system with the new fixture.

Abstract: A wash-down toilet including a bowl, a passageway, and a trapway. The bowl includes a sump. The passageway includes an inlet in fluid communication with the sump, an outlet provided at a height above the inlet, and a weir. The trapway includes an inlet, an outlet, and a vent, with the inlet of the trapway being in fluid communication with the outlet of the passageway and the outlet being in fluid communication with a soil pipe. The vent is configured to introduce a supply of air into the trapway during a flush cycle to prevent siphoning.

Abstract: A wall-hung toilet including a bowl, a water inlet chamber receiving water, a rim channel, a shroud surrounding at least a portion of the bowl, a rear mount, and a pocket. The rim channel is provided above the bowl and is fluidly connected to the water inlet chamber to receive the water. The rim channel includes an opening that introduces water into a rear portion of the bowl at an angle relative to vertical. The rear mount includes a mounting hole that is configured to connect the toilet to a wall via a fastener engaging the wall and the mounting hole. The pocket is formed in a side of the toilet and extends through the shroud to provide access to an interior side of the mounting hole from the side of the toilet, such that the fastener can be accessed through the pocket from the side of the toilet.

Abstract: An ergonomically designed hygienic sprayer or bidet apparatus for use with pre-existing fixtures. The sprayer includes an angled portion with a sprayer head disposed on an underside of the angled portion, resulting in a flow of water from the sprayer head that is substantially between 30° and 60° relative to a longitudinal axis of a body portion of the sprayer. The sprayer also includes an actuator located on the same side of the sprayer as the sprayer head and slip-resistance surfaces. An optional mounting base for securely holding a hygienic sprayer in a manner that may disguise its presence or be more aesthetically pleasing. The mounting base is substantially the same size as the hygienic sprayer. The mounting base may be mounted or secured to multiple types of surfaces near the fixture with which the hygienic sprayer is used.

The head care apparatus of the invention comprises a first support, a care unit having a contact capable of making contacts with person's head supported by the first support, an arm moving the care unit in a first direction which extends orthogonal to a surface of the person's head and/or a second direction which extends along the surface of the person's head, and a load detector having at least two load sensors arranged in different positions in the second direction for sensing loads applied thereto, the load detector being designed to detect the loads on the contact in the first direction.

Specifically placed water inlet ports and water outlet ports provide for the generally unidirectional or non-centric water flow.

Abstract: An infant support has an inflatable seat back portion forming a back support and a portion of a bottom side, a bottom support portion extending below the seat back portion in a direction of a longitudinal end of the infant support device, the bottom support portion forming at least a portion of a bottom side of the infant support. Additionally, an inflatable side portion extends from the seat back portion along transverse sides of the infant support. Together, the inflatable portions form an infant tub when inflated. The bottom support and side portion can be partially or fully deflated, and will thereby dangle or depend from the seat back portion, the infant support thereby forming a chair. A number of inflatable infant care items are combined with the inflatable infant support to form an infant care travel kit.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a tub for bathing infants or children. The tub includes a receptacle for containing water and for receiving an infant. The tub also includes a selectively removable insert, seat, or positioning member that can be used to change the bathing area inside of the tub. When the removable insert, seat, or positioning member is locked into the tub, the positioning member defines a smaller receptacle and an upright infant seating position within the tub. The positioning member is removable from the tub to allow the entire receptacle to be used. When the positioning member is removed from the tub a sling may be coupled to the tub to provide for a supine position suspended within the tub.

Abstract: A shower door track assembly is disclosed. The shower door track assembly includes a vertical support. The shower door track assembly further includes a lower rail connected to the vertical support configured to receive a roller of a sliding shower door. The shower door track assembly includes a connecting projection connected to the vertical support. The shower door track assembly further includes a removable header including an upper roller retainer. The removable header is removably attachable to the connecting projection such that when the removable header is attached to the connecting projection, the upper roller retainer prevents a received roller from being removed from the lower rail, and when the removable header is detached from the connecting projection, the received roller is removable from the lower rail.

Abstract: A shower track guide system for a shower enclosure may include an elevated track positioned above a base and at least one stand disposed between the base and the track. The track may be mounted to the at least one stand. A shower door may be movable along a top of the track to permit access to the shower enclosure. The stand may elevate the track above the base to permit water to flow underneath the track.

Abstract: A shower door cam system includes at least one shower door having a predetermined number of offset rollers and at least one panel having a predetermined number of offset tracks. Each track is configured to receive one of the rollers. In a closed position of the shower door, the shower door contacts a shower floor of the showering enclosure to form a watertight seal. In an open position of the shower door, the shower door is elevated such that a gap is formed between the shower door and the shower floor of the showering enclosure.

Abstract: A shower door sealing assembly includes a shower door and a bumper. The shower door includes a frame having a channel disposed at an exterior surface of a perimeter of the frame. The bumper is configured to be received in the channel such that the bumper is coupled to the shower door via a friction fit between the channel and the bumper. The channel and the bumper extend along a length of one or more sides of the shower door configured to abut a wall of a showering enclosure or other door assembly component. The bumper is configured to provide a water-tight seal between portions of the shower door along which the bumper extends and surfaces of the showering enclosure or other door assembly components.

Abstract: A shower sealing system includes a sliding shower door slidable along a length of an upper track assembly and configured to slide horizontally and freely above a surface and a sealing element configured to provide a fluid seal between the surface and at least a portion of the shower door. The system also includes a trigger mechanism coupled to the sealing element and a stop configured to activate the trigger mechanism when at least partially in contact with the trigger mechanism. The trigger mechanism is configured to move the sealing element from a storage position to a sealing position when the stop activates the trigger mechanism. The sealing element provides a fluid seal between the shower door and the surface when the sealing element is in the sealing position.

Abstract: We provide a tension adjustment assembly including an externally threaded support member and an at least partially hollow cylinder that is threaded internally. The threads of the cylinder and the threads of the support member are mated, allowing the cylinder to rotate about and travel along the threaded portion of the support member. The cylinder further comprises a ridge about an outer diameter of the cylinder. The tension adjustment assembly also includes an end cap retained on the cylinder by said ridge and able to rotate freely about said cylinder independently of any rotation of the cylinder about the support member. Finally, the tension adjustment assembly includes a foot attached to the end cap. When placed on the end of a tension rod this assembly allows the fit of the rod to a wall to be adjusted by turning the cylinder.

Abstract: A bathing enclosure includes a base, one or more wall panels, and a compliant member. The base includes a first flange extending outward from an upper end thereof to define an upper surface. The wall panels include a second flange extending outward from a lower end thereof to define a lower surface. The compliant member has a length and a width, the length being greater than the width. The base and the one or more wall panels at least in part define a forward entrance into an interior of the enclosure. A generally horizontal interface is formed between the first flange and the second flange. The compliant member is coupled to a first of the one or more wall panels proximate the entrance. The compliant member forms a seal with the first flange, the length of the compliant member extending outward relative to the interior of the enclosure.

Abstract: A shower threshold and a method of implementing a shower threshold are disclosed. The shower threshold includes an elongated base component having one or more sidewalls extending from a base region of the elongated base component to an apex of the elongated base portion. The shower threshold also includes a flexible cap coupled to and extending from the elongated base component along the apex of the elongated base component. The flexible cap may be composed of a plurality of layers. The plurality of layers includes a core layer and a shell layer. The core layer is composed of a material that is softer than the shell layer.

Abstract: A shower pan provides a shower floor adjoining a surrounding bathroom floor with no raised lip, curb or other obstruction between the two. This allows easy wheeled access for the disabled and comprises a drain plate in combination with an underlayment, which provide a gradual slope from a surrounding floor to a drain and supported on unmodified joists with upper surfaces in the same plane as surrounding bathroom floor joists.

Abstract: A doorless, flexible shower stall for aircraft is shown, which shower stall is made of lightweight, 2-core-2 materials. The shower stall flexes as the aircraft flexes up to as much as five (5%) percent. The direction of discharge of water from the shower head is so the water will not be discharged out the doorless opening for the shower. Slopes of the floor is enough to overcome the angle of the aircraft during flight and still drain. The shower stall is composed of large pieces that are assembled and sealed when installed on the aircraft.

Abstract: A portable shower apparatus includes a shower head, funnel adapter, mounted on an air evacuator tube, for use with a conventional fluid container. The shower head includes a shower face plate having a plurality of fluid dispensing holes; shower face plate is circumvented by a ring connector having internal threads. The funnel adapter includes two opposing openings having cylindrical connector pieces, a first cylindrical connector piece and a second cylindrical connector piece; first connector piece having a greater diameter than the second connector pieces. The shower head ring connector is threadably coupled to the first connector piece while a preexisting filled fluid container is coupled to the second connector piece. When the portable shower is inverted, fluid, preferably water, flows from the fluid container towards the user. Other embodiments are disclosed including a variety of transitional adapters to use with a variety of sizes of conventional fluid containers.

Abstract: A spa chair with a novel pedicure basin is disclosed. The pedicure basin has a main basin and a secondary basin. The main basin is where the feet of the person sitting in the spa chair goes. This main basin is generally filled with water. In one embodiment, the main basin has water overflow protection through a lowered rim, directing the overflow of water to a secondary basin. This method of overflow protection is especially useful where the main basin has a liner blocking the drain hole within the main basin.

Abstract: A pedicure spa comprises a basin, a base, at least one inlet vent, and a ventilating system. The basin is configured to contain water for soaking feet. The base is configured to contain the basin, with the base having a front wall and a top wall. The at least one inlet vent is located in the base for receiving air, and the ventilating system is configured to circulate air. The system has pipes connecting the at least one inlet vent, with the pipes connecting to an exit pipe.

Abstract: A lighting system has a flexible member to engage a sink edge, lighting elements, and a controller to illuminate the sink. The sink is preferably glass or other transparent material with a non-smooth surface to reflect the light. The flexible member is optically transparent to allow the light to reach the sink. The sink may also have a motion detector to illuminate the sink upon approaching the sink. The lighting system and sink may be combined as a kit to be provided to homeowners.

Abstract: A sink accessory comprising a wire-form attachment structure and a supporting structure. The wire-form attachment structure is configured to be secured to a section of a divider of the sink to support the sink accessory. The attachment structure includes a base, a first leg, and a second leg spaced apart from the first leg. The supporting structure is coupled to and extends from one of the first and second legs. The supporting structure is also configured to extend offset from and adjacent to the divider.

Abstract: A portable sink stand may be foldable between a stowed state and a deployed state. In some examples, the portable sink stand may have a substantially rectangular cuboid profile in the stowed state. The portable sink stand may comprise a sink retaining body, an upstanding partition, and a support structure. A fluid distribution system may be disposed below the sink retaining body that includes a first pipe that runs the length of the portable sink stand. In some examples, the portable sink stand may be quickly moved between the stowed state and the deployed quickly with minimal assembly. When multiple portable sink stands are utilized, the fluid distribution systems of the sink stands may be coupled together.

Abstract: One embodiment of the application relates to a sink assembly including a sink and a drain cover. The sink includes a basin and a projection provided in a bottom wall of the basin. The projection includes a first portion and a second portion that define a cavity and a drain opening. The first portion extends from the bottom wall at a first orientation and the second portion extends from the first portion at a second orientation that is different than the first orientation. The drain cover is installed into the cavity of the projection. The drain cover includes a base and at least one leg extending downward from a bottom surface of the base. The base has a top surface that is substantially coplanar with an upper surface of the bottom wall, and has an outer periphery that extends beyond an outer periphery of the drain opening.

Abstract: Dirty eating utensils and other forms of silverware are placed into a dishwasher basket that is at least partially submerged in water that is kept in a soaker basket. The soaker basket is characterized by a water holder portion and a hanger portion such that the hanger portion positions and supports the water holder portion inside a sink basin. Preferably, the hanger portion hangs over a sink divider of a double sink such that it is easy to fill the soaker basket with water from a sink's faucet.

Abstract: An apparatus, method and system for providing and dispensing various hand care alternatives from a common point of dispension, such as a faucet, for standardizing the hand care, washing, sanitizing, and drying process is disclosed. Included is a liquid flow path having an inlet in fluid communication with a liquid source and an outlet in fluid communication with a user reception point. A secondary flow path has an inlet in communication with one or more hand care alternatives and an outlet in communication with the user reception point. A first pump operatively connected to the hand care alternative and a second pump, independent from the first, pumps air. The air and hand care alternative may be mixed and foamed. In use, the air pump can provide clearing, drying and mixing functions independent from the first pump.

Abstract: A drain mounted in the floor and equipped with a novel annular seal to accept the penetration of a tubular tailpiece affixed to and emanating from the bottom of a free standing bath is provided. The mounted drain comprises a circular anchoring plate fastened concentrically to a hole in the floor. To the lower surface of the anchoring plate an internally threaded base is fastened by the threading in of a flanged externally threaded pipe that hangs from the inner rim of a circular perforation in the anchoring plate, said flange pipe threading into the base beneath said plate. A novel seal is equipped with a horizontal annular flange that is sandwiched between the bottom surface of the flanged externally threaded pipe on top and the internally threaded base beneath said plate. Said seal also is equipped with a vertical perforation with annual features that seal against the penetrating tubular tailpiece circumference to prevent air and water leakage. The base is further attached to a drain.

Abstract: A drain replacement assembly including a flange having a downwardly extending lip configured to be received within a drain pipe, an annular seat extending radially outwardly from the lip, and at least one retaining finger extending axially downwardly from the lip. The lip of the flange is inserted within a drain pipe opening, the annular seat of the flange is positioned atop an annular seat of the drain pipe, and the at least one retaining finger engages a portion of the drain pipe to secure the flange to the drain pipe.

Abstract: A collapsible bed system is disclosed that may comprise a first bunk, a second bunk, a first frame member, and second frame member. The collapsible bed system may be moved between a stowed state and a deployed state. The first bunk may comprise a container and a platform, the platform being hingedly connected to the container over a top opening of the container, enclosing a volume within the container. In the deployed state, a mattress may be positioned on top of the platform and in a stowed state, the mattress may be positioned in the enclosed volume. The collapsible bed system may include a foldable drawer configured to be received by a foldable drawer opening arranged on the first bunk.

Abstract: A bed chair apparatus has a user support surface which includes a back section 1, a seat section 14, a lower leg section 15 and a foot section 16 that are configured to articulate relative to each other. The support surface is configurable in a bed configuration in which the support surface is substantially flat and in a chair configuration in which the foot section 16 is disposed beneath the seat section 14. Some embodiments of the apparatus require only a single actuator 30.

Abstract: A patient repositioning system for pulling a patient toward a head end of a bed includes a sheet, a mattress, and a housing which contains at least a part of a drive mechanism for operatively coupling to and pulling the sheet. The housing resides below a head end piece of the mattress, and is secured to the bed deck. The sheet pulling structure extends out of the housing via a slot and releasably attaches to the sheet, in a manner which has a low profile so as to pass through the slot. The sheet is longer than and wider than the mattress, and has beaded longitudinal side edges which are retained within rows of spaced retainers located on opposite sides of the mattress. During pulling of the sheet, the contoured shape of the housing facilitates movement of the sheet into the housing via the slot, even though the sheet width extends beyond the lateral edges of the mattress.

Abstract: A transport device for assisting in the movement of patients, the transport device consisting essentially of a frame that includes a seat portion having a back edge and a back support portion having a bottom edge joined upright to the back edge of the seat portion, each portion being a planar, rigid material, and having a plurality of lift openings disposed through the seat portion and the back support portion, along each side edge and the top edge of the back support portion. The seat portion can have a seat opening in the general shape of a toilet bowl opening, and a removable covering plate configured to be removably placed over the seat opening. A comfort pad can be attached with mechanical fasteners to the top surface of the covering plate.

Abstract: A patient lift system includes a lift housing, a base lift strap having a first end coupled to a lift housing and a second end coupled to a sling bar. The base lift strap is infection controlled. In one embodiment, a protective sleeve covers the base lift strap, wherein the protective sleeve has a first end and a second end. In another embodiment, the base lift strap is chemically treated to provide infection control.

Abstract: The application is directed to a system operationally configured to assist individuals with performing one or more activities including, but not necessarily limited to moving from one location to another, showering, using a mirror, using a sink, bathing, using a toilet, performing one or more leisure activities, and combinations thereof. In one aspect, the system may include an assembly and transport member connected thereto, the assembly including a bed and/or bath and/or toilet and/or personal item storage system and/or entertainment system integrated with one or both of smart and manual processes operationally configured to assist individuals with performing one or more activities.

Abstract: An infant crib with tensioned netting. A frame having corner posts connected by upper and lower rails, is provided. A support arm has a first portion connected to each corner post, and second portion extending inwardly. A mattress support frame is supported by each second portion. A mattress overlies the mattress support frame. A bed skirt has an upper edge engaged by respective skirt rods that engage respective skirt rod receivers on the upper end of the support arms. A plurality of rod hooks is mounted on the inside wall of the lower rail. Netting extends between and around the corner posts and the rails. The upper ends of the netting roll over the upper rail and engage a respective upper rod, extending between adjacent posts. The lower ends of the netting engage a respective lower rod, secured within the rod hooks. Resilient and foraminous crib sidewalls are thereby defined.

Abstract: A portable baby changing station fabricated from a soft, flexible material for changing diapers in automobiles. When fully extended, it provides a soft surface to rest a baby while changing a diaper. In this mode, the head end is affixed to the rear portion of the back seat by a fastener such as Velcro. One or more netted pockets are positioned at the head end to hold diapers and changing supplies. Once the baby has a new diaper, the changing station folds up into a compact shape while remaining fastened to the back seat. It is held in the closed position by fasteners such as Velcro or snaps. It is always affixed to the automobile, and always ready to unfold.

Abstract: A knockdown bed is formed of a first bed frame and a second bed frame. The first bed frame includes a top side, a bottom side, and an insertion member. The insertion member has an insertion end, a fixed end connected with the bottom side, two lateral sides, and two abutment surfaces connected with the two lateral sides. The two abutment surfaces gradually approach each other from the fixed end to the insertion end. The second bed frame includes a top side, a bottom side, and a slot member adjacent to the first bed frame. The slot member is formed of two sidewalls, two abutment walls connected with the two sidewalls, and a slot, into which the insertion member can be inserted to interconnect the first and second bed frames. In this way, the knockdown bed can be easily assembled and structurally firm.

Abstract: Various methods and apparatus are disclosed herein for securing an actuator to a structure. In one form the apparatus includes a first clamp member connected to an actuator and having a first mating structure, and a second snap-fit clamp member having a second mating structure that engages and mates with the first mating structure when the second clamp member is snapped onto the first clamp member to form a clamp that secures the actuator to a structure and encloses the structure so that the actuator is easily and properly connected to the structure.

Abstract: A mat, such as an exercise, sleep, or floor mat comprising at least one electrically conductive member that traverses the mat, forming an electrically conductive connection between the upper and lower surfaces of the mat. This conductive connection allows a user to be electrically grounded when using the mat on a grounded surface. Further provided is a conductive mat cover that can be used with an existing mat to provide grounding.
