Abstract: This invention provides a helmet shield attaching mechanism capable of relatively easily and relatively accurately performing an adjustment operation for satisfactorily bringing the inner surface of a shield in a substantially fully-closed state into close contact with the window opening rim portion of a head protecting body. The holding position of stopped means of a movable base member, whose position is held by stopper means of a stationary base member in an at least substantially fully-closed state of the shield, can be selected from one of a plurality of portions of the movable base member substantially in the back-and-forth direction.

The wearable sensor retaining device may include a strap having a rigid connector having a male portion and a female portion (e.g. a side-release buckle) for adjustably securing the strap around a wearer's torso to ensure proper location of the wearable sensor and proper fit for the wearer. The strap has a portion for coupling to a wearable sensor and having sufficient tension to retain the wearable monitor in the proper location, while maintaining wearer comfort so as not to impede the range of motion of the wearer. The strap may include a length adjustment loop that provides the wearer a customized fit and quick, consistent application.

The system helps reinforce a pocket at the seams and edges, such that abrasive forces on the pocket are alleviated. The reinforcement comprises an addition of multiple layers of material and fabric that overlay the pocket at sections of the pocket where engagement and movement most often occur. The system uses unique reinforcement panels that overlay the original panel that forms the pocket. The reinforcement panel is of different material than the panel. The reinforcement panel overlays the panel at the open end, where abrasive movement occurs for accessing the interior of the pocket, and also overlays a closed end, where items accumulate inside the pocket. The system utilizes a secondary pocket inside the pocket, along with a zipper and a loop for enhanced usability.

Abstract: Described is a bowling glove to be worn on a bowler's supporting hand having a removable cleaning surface that can be used to clean a bowling ball. The bowling glove includes a hand receiving section having an opening through which a user may insert his or her hand. The palm portion of the glove comprises a removable cleaning pad thereon that is washable and reusable and that is preferably composed of microfiber. The hand receiving section may include individual finger compartments having cut-outs thereon so that the user's fingers extend outward from the glove. Additionally, a removable mitt may be provided that can enclose each of the user's fingers if so desired. Alternatively, the hand receiving section may include a mitt that encloses each of the user's fingers therein. The glove may further include webbing disposed between the fingers to provide additional surfaces for cleaning a bowling ball.

The device may comprise a substantially rectangular sheet with a top edge, a bottom edge, and two side edges, the two side edges disposed substantially parallel to each other, the substantially rectangular sheet further comprising adaptations for engaging a pocket square in various conformations such as cut outs and/or clips. The device may be coupled with at least one extension. Methods of engaging a pocket square with the devices are also disclosed.

Abstract: A clothing strap retention device, or “holder,” in accordance with the techniques of the present disclosure enables a user to retain multiple shoulder or equivalent straps of a clothing garment proximate to one another at a region along the length of the straps. As a result, the effective length of the straps is reduced and the movement of the straps is restricted, thereby lifting up the garment and providing a better, more comfortable fit. Specifically, the holder includes a planar central portion having an equidimensional geometry that provides structural integrity to the holder, thereby enabling it to withstand torsional forces and prevent or reduce distortion such as twisting and warping. Additionally, the central portion includes a surface suitable for one or more of printing, embossing, and attaching an adhesive label to include any combination of text and graphical content for use in any of product marking, ornamental design, and advertisement.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a body made of composite material such as a shell of a helmet. Said body constitutes a multilayer structure where each layer is formed by superposed strata comprising portions of fabrics preimpregnated with thermoplastic resin in which at least some of said layers are formed by woven or non-woven LFRTP-type preimpregnated fabrics. The outer layer is formed by strata of portions of “veil” type or “felt” type fabrics, with non-woven and non-oriented fibers of lengths comprised between 5 and 20 mm. In the method, the multilayer structure arranged in a mold is subjected to the action exerted by a bag that is inflated due to pressure occupying the cavity of the mold.

Abstract: A personal protection system for providing a sterile barrier around medical/surgical personnel. The system includes a helmet over which a hood or a toga suspended. The helmet has a chin bar that extends forward of the face of the individual wearing the system. At least one manually actuated control for regulating one aspect of operation of the system is mounted to the chin bar. Sometimes the control is a button that is depressed to control the operation of a helmet moutned fan that draws air into the hood or toga. A microphone may also be mounted to the chin bar.

Abstract: An improved protective shell for a helmet, the shell comprising angled panels forming pyramid-like surface structures covering the surface of the helmet. Each pyramid-like structure comprises three or more panels conjoining to form an apex. In one embodiment, each of the panels is a triangle having a base and a point that conjoins adjacent panels, thereby forming the apex. The limited number of apex points and the orientation of the angled panels reduce the probability that an impacting object will deliver a square blow to the helmet. The probability is increased that such blows will be only glancing in nature, thereby reducing the severity of the blow and head injury to the wearer.

Abstract: A device for use with a helmet in contact sports, which includes a curved body connected with the helmet and configured for disposal along a front part of a user's neck. The body includes: (i) planar first and second surfaces, the first surface having a curved portion to generally conform under the user's chin; and (ii) a third surface that is curved along the front part of the user's neck and configured to be spaced from but does not contact the user's neck. The device is configured to absorb an impact force and resist the user's neck from moving forward during a sports collision. Systems and methods are disclosed.

Abstract: A protective base lens configured for attachment to the visor or face shield of a helmet upon which protective tear-away lenses may be mounted. The protective base lens includes an elongated flexible clear transparent sheet with apertures at each end with post member fasteners being reversibly secured within the apertures. A pressure sensitive adhesive is affixed to the bottom surface at each end of the transparent sheet to attach the protective base lens to the helmet visor. One or more tear-away lenses operationally engage the post member fasteners and are reversibly mounted to the top surface of the transparent sheet. The protective base lens being designed and configured to be used with or without tear-away protective lenses.

Abstract: A bed bug protective garment configured to be worn by a user. The garment includes a body portion that is configured to wrap around a user's arms, legs, and torso. A first closure mechanism is connected to an opening of the body portion and is configured to close the body portion around the user. The first closure mechanism extends along the length of the body portion to a top of the body portion. A hood portion of the garment is connected to the top of the body portion. The hood portion includes a face mask connected to the hood portion that covers the face of a user. Abstract: A fluid exit portion for a splash-reducing urinal cartridge is presented. The exit portion comprises a splash reducer for causing fluid to exit the cartridge in a splash-reduced manner. The splash reducer is generally in the form of a spout with a tapered exit area for accelerating and directing the fluid. The spout may comprise converting fins to urge fluid to collect in a progressively narrower channel. When the cartridge is installed into a housing, the splash reducer ensures that fluid exiting the cartridge transitions into the housing with minimal disturbance, substantially parallel to the housing. The splash reducer is formed of a flexible material or is hinged with respect to the cartridge body to allow for easy insertion into a housing.

Abstract: A fluid inlet portion for a waterless urinal cartridge is presented. The fluid inlet portion comprises to fluid director comprising a non-linear surface proximate a throat portion of the cartridge formed to impart a horizontal velocity component to fluid flowing through the throat portion of the cartridge to reduce vertical turbulence within the fluid. The fluid director can be formed so that it is in fluid communication with at least part of a fluid layer within the cartridge. The non-linear surface imparts a horizontal velocity component, thereby reducing disruption of the fluid layer by fluid flowing through the throat portion of the cartridge. The fluid director may be positioned within the cartridge to impart a substantially horizontal swirling motion to fluid within the cartridge. A fluid deflector proximate the fluid director can receive fluid from the fluid deflector and for re-directing the fluid from the fluid director.
