Abstract: A rotating pumping apparatus is provided which may be employed in an automotive brake system. The rotating pumping apparatus includes a sealing member and a pressure member. The sealing member is disposed around a pump drive shaft. The pressure member includes a plate spring, a first rotation stopper, and a second rotation stopper. The first rotation stopper serves to stop the pressure member from rotating following rotation of the pump drive shaft. The second rotation stopper engages the seal ring to stop the sealing member from rotating following the rotation of the pump drive shaft. The plate spring works to elastically press the sealing member against a stopper wall of a pump casing to stop the sealing member from moving in an axial direction of the pump drive shaft.

Abstract: The invention relates to energy conversion and generation systems, and more specifically, to a system and method of generating and converting energy by way of a pressure differential in a working fluid. A Pressure Power System is described comprising a cold sub-system, a warm sub-system, a work extraction system, and a hydraulic pump arranged in a closed loop. The cold sub-system and the warm sub-system are respectively maintained at lower and higher temperatures relative to one another, so that a Working Fluid circulated through the closed loop by the pump, will have different equilibrium vapor pressures in the two sub-systems. The different respective state functions of the Working Fluid results in two different levels of elastic potential energy, and subsequently, a pressure differential between the two sub-systems. A work extraction system is positioned between the two sub-systems to convert the elastic potential energy/pressure differential into useful kinetic energy.

Abstract: A system and method of use of same for cooling process vessels, particularly those having reactor beds inside such as hydrotreaters, hydrocrackers, and catalytic reformers as part of processing units, during unit turnarounds. While the process vessel is in normal operation or in a preliminary cool down phase, quench gas flow is routed through a bypass flow path while a recirculating gas cooling system is installed in the primary flow path, requiring no unit downtime. During a turnaround, the process vessel temperature is lowered to a desired temperature, permitting entry and replacement of catalyst inventory, using the existing hydrogen recirculating (recycle gas) compressor to circulate a recirculating gas stream through the recirculating gas cooling system, the process vessel, and back through the compressor and recirculating gas cooling system. The cooling system removes heat from the circulating flowstream, thus lowering the process vessel temperature, faster than cold nitrogen injection methods.
