Abstract: A heel float therapeutic footwear for people that spend a large amount of time in bed. The heel float therapeutic footwear includes a lower leg support portion, a foot support portion, and a wing support structure. The foot support portion extends from the lower leg support portion and includes a foot support platform. The wing support structure is permanently or removably attached to the foot support platform. The wing support structure is adjustably fastenable to a side of the lower leg support portion to adjustably support a position and an angle of the foot support platform with respect to the lower leg support portion. A method of making a heel float therapeutic footwear is also disclosed.

Abstract: Kits, systems, methods, materials, and tools for improving footwear wearability are provided. In one aspect, a kit includes a deformable material adapted to be positioned into footwear, and a tool including a first end and a second end. The first end of the tool is adapted to engage the deformable material, move the material to a desired position in the footwear, and shape the material. The second end of the tool is adapted to engage the material and remove the material from the footwear. In another aspect, a method of improving wearabilty of footwear includes positioning a deformable material into footwear, engaging the material with a first end of a tool, moving the material to a desired portion of the footwear with the tool, and deforming the material into a desired shape with the first end of the tool.

Abstract: An article of footwear having a tapered heel in part defining an impact point associated with a padded impact zone which first strikes a surface upon a foot plant and a plate embedded within a sole of the article such that the plate supports the heel of the sole from flexing or collapsing, the impact point positioned anterior a pivot point of the wearer's ankle. In one aspect the plate avoids positioning at a lateral midfoot area of the sole to allow for impact zone padding and promotes avoiding or reducing heel strike forces when walking or running.

The torsion bar or rod may be supported at either end by sockets of the sole member. The torsion bar or rod may also be supported at one or more intermediate points by a hollow component. This hollow component may itself be supported by ribs extending to the medial and lateral sides of the sole member, respectively. The torsion bar or rod, the sockets, the hollow component and the ribs form a suspension structure connecting the forefoot region of the sole member to the heel region of the sole member.

Abstract: An article of footwear is provided having a pressurized fluid-filled chamber in the sole structure having a continuous perimeter weld and lacking an inflation channel. The chamber may be formed from opposing polymer sheets, a continuous perimeter weld lacking a weld channel bonding the sheets and forming an interior void between the sheets, and a fluid disposed within the interior void exerting outward pressure on the sheets. A method for making the chamber can include placing a pair of polymer sheets in an opposing arrangement, pressing opposing perimeter weld portions of the sheets against each other to form an airtight seal along a perimeter region of an interior void, supplying a flow of pressurized air between the opposing sheets into the interior void, and, while maintaining a desired fluid pressure, welding the perimeter weld portions of the sheets to each other. A high-frequency welder for forming chamber is also provided.

Abstract: Described are soles for a shoe, in particular for a sports shoe, with a midsole. The midsole includes a first sole region, which includes particle foam. The midsole further includes a deformation region within the midsole, wherein the deformation region has a volume greater than that of a single expanded particle and is positioned so that it allows a sideward deformation of the material of the first sole region under a pressure load on the sole.

Abstract: An inner sole board having varying regions of flexibility is provided for use in an article of footwear. The inner sole board may include different materials along its length at different locations that vary its flexibility. An inner sole board is manufactured in an injection molding process requiring only one mold. The process includes a first step of providing a mold, a second step of providing an injection molding assembly, a third step of preparing an injection molding assembly and mold, a fourth step of injecting material into the mold, and a fifth step of establishing the dimensions of a first portion. During the injection molding process, the flow rate of at least one material may be controlled by a nozzle gate to control the shape and size of the flex zone it creates. In this manner, the inner sole board may be customized for a specific sport or individual.

Abstract: A shielding cup is provided for use with a self-fusing member or collapsible heat-concentrating accessory. The shielding cup is attached to a shoe heel as a temporary fix for a worn heel tip. The cup can be attached to the heel by a self-fusing member that binds to itself. The cup can also be attached by using a heat source and collapsible heat-concentrating accessory to concentrate heat on the heat-shrink version of the shielding cup.

Abstract: An article of footwear having a self-cleaning surface and a method of making an article of footwear are disclosed. The article of footwear may generally include a sole plate having cleats associated with resilient members. The resilient members may be disposed on a bottom surface of the sole plate in an area near the cleats. For example, a resilient member may be disposed in on the bottom surface of the sole plate in the peripheral area of a cleat. The resilient members may prevent mud from accumulating on the cleats and/or a bottom surface of the sole plate by compressing against a surface of the ground and then springing back, preventing mud from sticking to the resilient member.

Abstract: A cutting die for cutting a plurality of parts of an article of footwear from a bulk material. The cutting die includes a first cutting member that cuts a first part of the article of footwear from the bulk material. The cutting die also includes a second cutting member that cuts a second part of the article of footwear from the bulk material. The second cutting member is fixed to the first cutting member to cut the first and second parts together with a single stroke of the cutting die relative to the bulk material. The first and second parts are separate and distinct from each other and have different shapes.

Abstract: A scarf securer secures a scarf uniquely about a user's neck. The scarf securer includes a peripheral closed loop, at least one divider, and a plurality of scarf openings. The peripheral closed loop includes an external boundary and an internal boundary to define the overall shape of the scarf securer. The internal boundary and the at least one divider define the configuration of the scarf during the implementation of the scarf securer. The plurality of scarf openings is delineated by the internal boundary and at least one divider. A scarf is placed about the user's neck and pulled through the plurality of scarf openings in order for the user to arrange the scarf into an aesthetic design.

Abstract: A locking buckle is formed of a male member with one or more flexible portions having a first position and a second position, and a female member adapted for receiving the flexible portions in the first position and allowing the one or more flexible portions to assume the second position to form a secure engagement with the male member. A rotatable member includes a periphery adapted for tactile engagement, the movable member preventing movement of the one or more flexible portions to the first position in a locked condition and allowing movement of the one or more flexible portions in an unlocked condition. A retainer retains the rotatable member in an opening of the female member. The male member may engage and move the rotatable member from the locked condition to the unlocked condition when inserted into the female member, and a detent may control the movement of the rotatable member. Related methods are disclosed.

A shock-absorbing system is added to the bottom end of the cane, including a rubberized tip, spacers, and a strong spring to absorb shocks encountered when the cane end encounters solid objects. A sleeve to hold a flashlight with LED bulb pointed towards the ground is also provided, to aid the partially-sighted at night.

In one illustrative embodiment, a backpack system in accordance with the present invention includes a back portion with shoulder straps. A swing-around portion is formed as a storage compartment that is secured to the back portion in a carrying position. An articulated frame is secured to the back portion and the swing-around portion and allows a user wearing the backpack to pivot the swing around portion around the user's side and access the contents therein. A securing latch is used to secure the articulating frame to retain the swing-around portion in the carrying position. The entire storage compartment of the pack may be a swing-around portion, or the pack may include multiple storage compartments that are either fixed to the back portion or function as swing-around portions.

Abstract: A lint removal device with a hollow handle, a tool head with head gears, brushes, rotation motor and gears, with the brushes in rotational mechanical communication with said tool head gears. The brushes work to remove lint from the lint compartment of a dryer in order to maintain the dryer in proper working order. If lint is not removed from most dryers, clothing placed in the dryer may not fully dry or the dryer might overheat and cause a fire. The present invention is designed to overcome these and other problems.

The apparatus further includes a spring-biased pin disposed on the undersurface of the platform that is configured to engage complementary slots disposed on the surface of the upright members of the frame. A vertically-biased pulley system internal to the frame biases the platform to a raised position in order to reduce the amount of effort required to lift the platform. The frame of the apparatus includes a lower portion that is sized and shaped to receive the frame of the platform, thereby allowing the platform to rest flush against the lower portion when fully lowered.

Abstract: An efficient system for loading and unloading freight from the manufacturing site or warehouse to the end user with a minimum of freight handling employs an intermodal freight rack (IFR) that may be loaded with products requiring at least one handling step per product and transported in a single handling step to a staging area. At the staging area the loaded IFR is transferred in a single handling step to a carrier for transport to a destination staging area where the loaded IFR is removed in a single step from the carrier and then transported to the end user site in a single step for unloading. Empty IFRs can be collapsed and stacked for return to the origin site.

Alternatively a cabinet is hung from a restraining member, or arm, so it can be raised for storage and lowered for access. In this aspect, a bottom panel is secured to the bottom of the cabinet. Optional vents and fan urge circulation between the air space and the living space, reducing temperature extremes in the air space and hence the cabinet. In other aspects, air treatment units (HVAC, dehumidifier, etc.) condition the air within the closet.

The retaining member and the concealing flange laterally support the laterally-extending vertical flange within the adjustment region such that the engagement structure of the storage member is selectively inserted and removed from the adjustment region through one of the top and bottom receiving apertures of the adjustment region.

The apparatus, slidably mounted within the cabinet space, comprises a top slide assembly mounted to a cabinet carcass and a drawer box. The drawer box is automatically centered on a base slide box. The base slide box is comprised of a slotted template slidingly engaged with a frame, where the frame is mounted to the cabinet carcass. Slide rail assemblies connect the slotted template to the frame. A pin block on the underside of a fixed shelf of the drawer box automatically centers the drawer box on the slotted template. A face plate adjustment mechanism provides for three dimensional alignment of the face plate with surrounding cabinets. An alternate embodiment comprises a mounting bracket providing three dimensional adjustability of the upper drawer slide.
