Abstract: Aspects herein provide for an apparel item having an integrated parachute structure and a set of intake ducts. The parachute structure is configured to transition from a first slack state to a second inflated state subsequent to air entering the set of intake ducts incident to ground locomotion of the wearer thereby increasing air resistance to wearer movement.

Abstract: A hair accessory designed to augment apparent hair length and thickness. The accessory is crafted from a rectangular piece of fabric, two ornamental beads, and a circular elastic band. The beads/elastic component of the accessory are mounted near the edge along one of the lenghts of the fabric. They are either slid through a small loop installed on the fabric or the elastic containing the beads is sewn directly to one edge of the fabric. The elastic and beads wrap around the hair at the base of the neck and the two hemispheres of the fabric are blended with the hair into a cornrow. The cornrow is blended to the desired length and the bottom end is secured with a circular elastic band commonly used for tying pony tails. In a variation of the aforementioned accessory the two beads are mounted on a circular elastic band which is threaded through a seam sewn along one of the width dimensions of the rectangular fabric.

Abstract: An interlocking hair extension is provided. The hair extensions are designed to rotate around an axis running the length of the piece and lock into place using alternating, offset teeth and magnets. The unique arrangement provides for hair extensions that can be used in both permanent and semi-permanent installations and that can be applied by a user without assistance from a third party.

Abstract: Headwear, such as a hat, is provided that comprises a body. The body may form a hat, including a beret, beanie, or snood, or it may be some alternative form of head covering, such as a scarf. A horizontal pocket is located on an interior surface of the body of the headwear, the pocket comprising an interior compartment and an interior space outside of the interior compartment. Typically, the interior compartment of the horizontal pocket is configured to be placed adjacent a wearer's ear when the hat is worn.

Abstract: A protective soft helmet integrally formed from a one-piece molded plastic foam for head protection. A gap of variable width is formed at a rear of the helmet to accommodate heads of differing sizes. A tail structure is disposable in overlapping relation to side edges of the gap so as to cover the gap. The soft helmet may include hard snap fasteners for removable attachment of a traditional chin strap to the helmet.

Abstract: An anchoring system for securing a strap to an in-molded helmet can include a strap anchor that includes an anchor housing and an in-molding flange coupled to the anchor housing. The anchoring system can include a bar tack clip sized to fit partially within the anchor housing, the bar tack clip including a cross beam, an opening adjacent the cross beam, and at least one clip coupled to the cross beam and sized to mateably couple with the anchor housing. The anchoring system can also include a strap disposed through the opening in the bar tack clip and looped around the cross beam, the strap being coupled to itself with a bar tack. The at least one clip of the bar tack clip can be disposed at an in-bound side of the bar tack clip or can include two side clips.

Abstract: The invention provides a unique construction for a sports helmet, as well as a novel approach to protecting the head of a sports player from head injury. The helmet of this invention is comprised of an outer layer comprised of a flexible material, an inner layer comprised of a flexible material, wherein the outer layer and inner layer define a space layer, wherein the space layer contains a gas, gel or liquid, and wherein the inner layer of the helmet is configured to fit around a human head.

Abstract: An impact reducing headgear is disclosed which utilizes dynamically responsive materials which undergo physical changes during exposure to impact forces, such that physical changes or phase changes absorb energy. The helmet may be constructed with a dual shell structure and a bladder, where the dynamically responsive materials may be contained. A embodiment for a comfortable fit which remains tight to the wearer's head is disclosed.

Abstract: A NOCSAE-certified football helmet having a plastic shell, internal padding attached to an inner surface of the shell, and a face guard attached to the shell, is configured and designed to have a Predictive Concussion Incidence below 1.90, or 0.75 plus or minus 0.25, or in the range of 0.50 to 1.90, as measured by the 2018 Adult Football STAR Methodology. The face guard is attached to the shell at a plurality of attachment points below a line constructed through the midpoint of the height of the helmet and has an upper portion which contacts the shell above the face opening, without being attached to the shell at that point. The internal padding includes a front pad attached within the shell above the face opening, defining a first zone of a first stiffness and, adjacent to and above the first zone, a second zone of a second stiffness lower than the first stiffness. The internal padding also includes helmet liners which are not inflatable, and which contain Poron pads.

Abstract: A football helmet has a rigid plastic football helmet shell with a raised plateau of the shell extending from the front portion, over the crown portion, toward the back portion. This raised plateau is the only raised plateau of the shell which begins in the front portion, extends over the crown portion, and ends in the back portion. The raised plateau has a left border and a right border. The left border is composed of a plurality of segments and extends continuously from the front portion, over the crown portion, toward the back portion. The segments of the left border including at least a first segment and second segment, which meet to form an angle. A non-circular first ventilation hole through the shell has at least a first side, a second side, and a third side, and is positioned at the angle, such that the first side is adjacent to the first segment and the second side is adjacent to the second segment.

Abstract: A bicycle helmet system comprising a helmet and a chin bar is disclosed. The chin bar is removably coupled to the helmet and wrapped circumferentially around a portion of the helmet. The chin bar may include a rear buckle configured to tighten the chin bar around the helmet. The chin bar may also include two side buckles that engage with side recesses on the helmet when the chin bar is removably coupled to the helmet. The chin bar may also include two alignment protrusions positioned to engage with alignment recesses on the helmet when the chin bar is removably coupled to the helmet.

Abstract: A system has a database that stores a plurality of audio/visual clips. Further, the system has a memory device that has a buffer with a threshold quantity of memory blocks. In addition, the system has a processor that receives the plurality of audio/visual clips in an ordered sequence for a virtual sports game. The processor also writes one or more frames of a first audio/visual clip to the buffer. Further, the processor allocates the threshold quantity of memory blocks such that the processing speed of writing one or more frames of a second audio/visual clip to the buffer is faster than a broadcast frame rate for broadcasting the first audio/visual clip. In addition, the processor writes the one or more frames of the second audio/visual clip to the allocated threshold quantity of memory blocks of the buffer.

Abstract: Adjustable and/or dual-suspension boot levers for hardshell boots, having upper parts and lower parts that rotate relative to one another, are disclosed. Adjustable boot levers disclosed herein are adjustable along a continuum or at one of a plurality of preset positions on a lever to provide a forward-lean angle customizable to a user's preferences. Dual-suspension boot levers provide fore-aft dampening and are also customizable by selection of appropriate elastic materials and properties for use in the forward-lean and backward-lean suspension devices. In some embodiments, adjustability and dual-suspension are combined in a boot lever design.

The series of channels are isolated from one another and each channel receives a quantity of particulate matter therein.

The outsole includes a ground-engaging surface, an inner surface formed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-engaging surface, and a wall surrounding a perimeter of the outsole. The wall cooperates with the inner surface to define a cavity. The midsole includes a footbed and a bottom surface disposed on an opposite side of the midsole than the footbed and opposing the inner surface of the outsole. The article of footwear also includes fibers received within the cavity. The fibers cooperate with one another to form a mesh that at least partially fills the cavity. The article of footwear also includes particulate matter disposed within the cavity and received within interstitial spaces of the mesh.

Midsole hollows are provided in a lower portion of a midsole. The pressure map may be a measurement of the pressures exerted on the bottom of a human foot during, for example, standing, walking, or running (e.g., a natural gait). The distal surface profile of a midsole and an article of footwear may be defined, at least in part, by a plurality of cushioning projections extending from the midsole and having predetermined height profiles based on a pressure map. Methods of making midsoles and articles of footwear including a distal surface profile based, in whole or in part, on a pressure map are also provided.

In this manner a shoe-sock may be fixed to the second or another portion of the sole without the need for any adhesive to be used.

A simpler and clearer construction and a high level of functional safety and reliability can be achieved in that the carrier embedded in the sole of the shoe is designed as a closed housing with a base and a cover penetrated by an upper pushbutton of the actuating member. A fixed pin protrudes from the base of the housing and is assigned to a central through recess of the winding disc. The return spring arrangement engages on the winding disc and/or the actuating member and, when the blocking device is released, returns the winding disc and the actuating member to the respective starting position.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a device for tightening an article includes a housing, a spool rotatably positioned within the housing, a knob operably coupled with the spool to cause the spool to rotate within the housing, and a stop mechanism. The device is configured so that incremental rotation of the knob in a first direction causes a corresponding incremental rotation of the spool within the housing that incrementally tensions a tension member and thereby tightens the article. The device is also configured so that incremental rotation of the knob in a second direction causes a corresponding incremental rotation of the spool that incrementally loosens the tension member's tension. The stop mechanism is configured to prevent rotation of the spool in the second direction when the tension member's tension achieves or falls below a tension threshold.

Abstract: A buckle assembly including a first portion, a second portion, an actuator and a lever. The first portion includes a hollow body, an open top, a locking slot extending through the hollow body and a fulcrum. A second portion of the buckle includes a base opposite of a locking leg, the locking leg including a cavity, and a channel. Inserting the second portion into the hollow body through the open top of the first portion causes the locking leg to engage the locking slot and to lock the first portion to the second portion. An actuator slideably engaged to the channel and includes an arm slideably connected to the cavity. Applying a force to the actuator causes the arm to withdraw the locking leg, disengaging the locking leg from the locking slot. A lever is mounted on the fulcrum to apply the force to the actuator when the lever is pulled.

Abstract: The lockable roll-top bag of the present invention includes a bag body, and a closing strap which permits a sidewall of the bag body to be folded and closed, with a strap lock provided to secure and lock the ends of the closing strap to maintain the bag in a closed and locked condition. The strap lock not only acts to close and lock the closing strap, but also permits the bag to be secured, in a closed and locked condition, to an associated object or structure. The bag and its contents can thereby be conveniently left unattended, such as at a park or beach, without concern of theft of the bag, or its contents.

Abstract: A bistable spring stand and housing for a handheld device which can be reliably mounted in environments where users commonly mount handheld devices is disclosed. Embodiments include a housing and a bistable spring stand coupled to the housing. The bistable spring stand is moveable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the bistable spring stand is substantially flat between its first and second ends and in the second position the bistable spring stand defines a longitudinal curve outward from the housing between its first and second ends. At least one embodiment includes a plurality of raised members forming a perimeter around the bistable spring stand, the raised members defining a planar support surface to provide a stable resting surface for the housing and handheld device when the bistable spring stand is in the first position.
