Abstract: A container includes a base and a lid defining a first compartment therebetween for storing unused snus, wherein at least the lid or the base includes a reconfigurable wall to enable a user to form or enlarge a second compartment for storing used snus on the other side of said wall to the first compartment. The reconfigurable wall is formed of contiguous polygons configured to move relative to a boundary of the reconfigurable wall and relative to each other under applied pressure so as to be arrangeable in a first, convex configuration and arrangeable in a second, concave configuration. The second compartment is formed or enlarged when the contiguous polygons are arranged in the second, concave configuration.

Abstract: The method for providing an aerosol-generating device for use with a shape-transformable aerosol-forming substrate comprises providing an aerosol-generating device comprising a device housing comprising a moulding cavity. The moulding cavity at least partially corresponds to a moulding space between a first mould half and a second mould half of a mould, the first mould half and the second mould half being internal surfaces of the device housing. The method further comprises the step of providing a flat aerosol-forming substrate adapted to change shape when pressed into the moulding cavity and being transformed into a non-flat aerosol-forming substrate. The invention also refers to a flat aerosol-generating article and a kit comprising a flat aerosol-generating article and an aerosol-generating device.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods to facilitate partially automated production of fluid-filled vaporizer cartridges are disclosed. A device can include a vaporizer cartridge configured to be sealably assembled by a press-fit after filling. Systems and methods include systems and methods for filling an array of partially-assembled vaporizer cartridges and for assembling a array of filled, partially-assembled vaporizer cartridges simultaneously.

Abstract: An aerosol-generating system may include a capsule and a releasably connectable vaporizer or vaporizing unit. The capsule comprises a distal end and defines a reservoir configured to contain an aerosol-generating substrate. The vaporizing unit comprises a housing and a heating element and a transfer element disposed in the housing. The heating element is configured to heat the transfer element to vaporize the aerosol-generating substrate. The housing of the vaporizing unit has a proximal end. A portion of the transfer element extends beyond the proximal end of the housing. The vaporizing unit is configured such that the transfer element is the initial part of the vaporizing unit to penetrate into the reservoir of the capsule as the distal end of the capsule is moved towards the proximal end of the vaporizing unit.

Abstract: A vaporization device includes a wick with improved aerosol production properties relative to a traditional wick, for example one formed of silica fiberglass cord. According to some aspects, the wick is formed of discontinuous fibers that are not packed together and that have varying orientations, creating a plurality of voids, or spaces, between the various fibers and along the length of the wick. This design of voids along the length of the wick allows for rapid wick saturation and air exchange. Because of this, a user can take successive long puffs without noticing much difference in vapor production, as the liquid quickly (e.g., within seconds) replenishes in the wick.
