Pouring Spout Patents (Class 100/135)
  • Patent number: 8474375
Abstract: A juicer arrangement comprises a motor-driven appliance (1), capable of extracting juice from fruit, and a vessel (10) for receiving the juice. The appliance has a tubular outlet duct (9) through which juice can flow; the duct consisting of an inner portion (12) that is fixed to the appliance (1) and an outer portion (13) which can be rotated, relative to the inner portion (12), about the longitudinal axis (12a) of the tubular outlet duct (9). Near the outlet end of the outer portion (13) of the outlet duct there is provided a chordally-extending internal wall (15), configured such that, in one rotational position of the outer portion (13) of the duct relative to the inner portion (12), the wall (15) is positioned to act as an anti-dripping dam member to resist liquid flow through the outlet duct (9). In another rotational position of the outer portion (13) of the duct relative to the inner portion (12), the wall (15) is inverted, leaving a gap through which juice can be dispensed.

  • Patent number: 7299745
Abstract: A juice press as used in the production of wine for removing liquids from solids, having a horizontally positionable press frame that allows a vertical press mechanism to be rolled to a first position for interference-free loading of a press basket with material to be pressed, and then rolled to a second operating position located over the press basket. The press basket has a liquid channeling plate having an arrangement of holes and channels that creates a perimeter seal along a circumference at the bottom of a loaded press basket. The liquid channeling plate traps naturally occurring sludge along the circumference bottom and allows for efficient evacuation of extracted juice from the bottom of the basket as the press mechanism is operated.

  • Patent number: 7152520
Abstract: A tea bag press and container assembly configured for receiving a tea bag during or after brewing, which conceals the wet tea bag, collects dripping liquid, and extracts tea liquid essence by efficiently compressing the wet tea bag vertically or sidewardly. In a vertical compression embodiment, a lid has an integral press element that compresses the tea bag against a tea bag support means in the bottom of the container upon applying pressure to the lid. In a sideward compression embodiment, a flexible container retains the tea bag during sideward compression, such as between the thumb and fingers, for releasing tea liquid from the bag. The tea bag press-container assembly is designed to reduce staining and mess on saucers, tables and fabric caused by a dripping tea bag and provides efficient extraction and pouring of tea liquid into an existing beverage, or the brewing of an additional beverage.

  • Patent number: 7131371
Abstract: A press for extracting fruit juice. The press includes a reservoir having a base and a reservoir wall extending from the base, the base having a fruit-contacting side, a non-fruit-contacting side and an opening. The press further includes a tank having a first opened end, a second opened end and a sidewall disposed therebetween, wherein the sidewall has a plurality of openings and the tank is seated on the fruit-contacting side of the base. Additionally, the press includes an actuator module positioned on the non-fruit-contacting side of the reservoir base. The actuator module has a motor and a press shaft. The press shaft is disposed through the opening of the reservoir base. The motor is drivingly connected to the press shaft to move it between retracted and extended positions. A press plate is detachably secured to the press shaft.

  • Patent number: 5501144
Abstract: A hand held press used to remove the liquid packing fluids in a can of food by biasing the lid of the can against the contents of the can. The press includes an upper pressing element and a lower pressing element. The upper pressing element has a perforated region that acts as a strainer. The perforated region is advanced against the lid and into the can, wherein displaced packing fluids are collected within a receiving area defined within the perforated region. A pour spout then allows the collected fluids to be removed in a controlled manner. The lower pressing element retains the can in a predetermined orientation as the can is being pressed. Accordingly, the angle at which the displaced fluids will pour is controlled by the manipulation of the press and the can of food held firmly within the press.

Abstract: A collector tray and a cut fruit support for an automatic juicing apparatus are provided. The collector tray comprises a bottom wall, a pair of opposed upstanding end walls and opposed upstanding front and rear walls to define an open top tray for collecting fruit juices. A pair of cones extend upwardly from the bottom wall and define structures against which generally hemispherical sections of fruit are urged to express the juices therefrom. Mounting brackets extend outwardly from the front and rear walls. An elastomeric cut fruit support is mounted to the mounting brackets of the front and rear walls and extend substantially continuously between the front and rear walls such that portions of the front and rear walls disposed forwardly and rearwardly of the collector tray are angularly aligned to the front and rear walls and to portions of the cut fruit support disposed between the front and rear walls.

  • Patent number: 4509418
Abstract: An elastic sheet support means (3) is held over the open portion of a juice collector means (1) of an automatic fruit juice extractor. The elastic support means (3) is held to the front wall (21) and rear wall (20) of the juice collector means by reinforcing rods (11, 12) held within lugs (15, 16) on the front and rear walls (21, 20). The direction in which the elastic sheet support means (3) is held is such that there are no openings adjacent the platform (2) from which cut fruit is fed onto the elastic sheet support means (3). The elastic sheet support means (3) is also formed with reinforcing ridges (32), parallel to the sidewalls (27, 28) of the juice collector means (1), and generally overlying the male cone members (22) which form a portion of the juice extracting means. Additionally, slits (33) are formed between the reinforcing ribs (32), overlying the male cones (22), to allow for movement of the elastic sheet support means (3) over the cones (22) during the expressing operation.
