  • Patent number: 11806770
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for tracking amounts of wires provided to a winding head during a winding operation of a wire distribution system. The wires can be tracked using one or more wire tracking devices that can be disposed at one or more locations within the wire distribution system. The wire tracking devices can provide information related to the amounts of wires and the types of wires being used to wind about a winding head/form. The information can be used to check for errors during a winding operation and indicate the progress of the winding operation. The information can also be used to update wire-availability data to reflect the amount of wire that has been provided during the winding operation.

  • Patent number: 8443723
Abstract: A cross-strapping device includes a base, a lateral strapping mechanism, and a longitudinal strapping mechanism. This base has a working surface. The lateral strapping mechanism has a lateral chute, a first strap supplying assembly, and a first sealing/cutting assembly. A first strap is guided by the lateral chute and is strapped around the object to finish a lateral strapping procedure. The longitudinal strapping mechanism has a longitudinal guider, a second strap supplying assembly, and a second sealing/sealing assembly. A second strap is guided by the longitudinal guider and be strapped around the object to finish a longitudinal strapping procedure. So, this object is placed on a fixed working surface without rotation. The lateral strapping procedure and the longitudinal strapping procedure are completed on the same working surface. Hence, both the lateral strapping procedure and the longitudinal strapping procedure can be done in only one machine. In addition, the turn table is not required.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically circumferentially wrapping a cable with a wrapping tape connectable to a fastener, wherein the apparatus comprises: a gripper device with movable jaws, a joining tool, a first feeder; a second feeder, and a control device. The jaws permit the fastener and the wrapping tape to be circumferentially guided around the cable. The joining tool joins overlapping portions of the tape, and is adapted to join the tape separately to the fastener. The first feeder advances tape to the gripper device during the wrapping operation and retracts the tape during tautening. The second feeder feeds the fastener to the gripper device. The control device locks the fastener in a predefined circumferential position relative to the cable, and causes the first feeder to advance the tape forward relative to the fastener by a predefined tape length.
