Plural Endless Conveyor Presses Patents (Class 100/307)
  • Patent number: 8528475
Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving of wood veneer quality is provided. In the method, veneers are conveyed through a compression gap made up by two press elements, the gauge of said gap being adjustable. The method comprises the use of an endless felt assembly, which is adapted to circle around at least one of the press elements and which passes through the compression gap in such a way that at least one face of the veneer is brought against the felt assembly in said compression gap.

  • Patent number: 7779884
Abstract: A multi-layer laminating press including hot plates arranged over top of and movable in reference to each other, conveyers revolving around the hot plates, sealing elements that assist in forming vacuum chambers between each of a first hot plate and a respectively adjacent second hot plate arranged thereabove when the press is closed. The second conveyor lower run of the second hot plate rests on the first conveyor upper run of the first hot plate and the work piece to be laminated is arranged between the first conveyor upper run and the second conveyor lower run in the vacuum chamber. Connections are provided to pressurize and/or evacuate the vacuum chambers. The vacuum chambers are limited by either the first hot plate and the second conveyor lower run, or the second hot plate and the first conveyor upper run, without the interposition of another membrane for laminating the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 6524445
Abstract: An apparatus for calendering a sheet material web being carried on or between one or more carrier fabrics. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus includes a calender section having first and second calender rolls forming a nip therebetween. At least one carrier fabric is disposed between the first and second calender rolls. The first and second calender rolls apply a load to the carrier fabric and sheet material web as they pass through the nip between the calender rolls so as to reduce the caliper, or thickness, of the sheet material web. A method for calendering the sheet material web includes carrying the sheet material web on one or more carrier fabrics through the calender nip formed by the first and second calender rolls and applying a load to the carrier fabric, and sheet material carried thereby, so as to reduce the thickness of the sheet material web.

  • Patent number: 6371750
Abstract: A device for smoothing and cooling of a material sheet (8) of thermoplastic, especially a film or sheet which are processed into plates which have been extruded by an extruder via a sheet die. Two pairs of units (2, 3; 4, 5) are provided which oppose each other and act on the surfaces (9, 10) of the material sheet (8). The units each have an active area (11) to contact the material sheet (8) forming part of the metal belt (12). The lower surface of the metal belt (12) is coolable in areas below the active area (11). The metal belt (12) is guided over a driving roll (20), which is drivable. The units provide a universal temperature profile, which is achieved over the thickness of a material sheet (8) while cooling and smoothing the sheet. Accordingly, stress differences are prevented.
