  • Patent number: 11020923
Abstract: An apparatus for crushing aluminum beverage cans, including; a containment structure with an integral crushing chamber, a pneumatic crushing cylinder with a hub type crushing head which ensures the can remains inside the crushing chamber during the crushing event, an ejection cylinder with an ejection ram, solenoid control valves, a safety interlock switch and a 3 position control switch, an air/gas supply and distribution system and an electrical control system. Two pneumatic cylinders; which are supplied air via two 3-way solenoid control valves, are used to perform the crushing and ejection work. Simultaneous two handed switch operation is required to energize either of the 3-way solenoid control valves to route air to the pneumatic cylinders. Two handed switch operation ensures that the operator's hands are free of the crushing chamber during operation.

Abstract: A pug mill having a housing and a cantilevered shaft extending through the housing includes, in seriatim, a vacuum chamber, a wall, a mixing chamber and a reduction cone. A communication port about the shaft is positioned in the wall between the vacuum chamber and the mixing chamber. Vacuum can be maintained within the mixing chamber by air passing through the port. An auger associated with the shaft forces clay toward the reduction cone. This creates a seal for maintaining vacuum within the mixing chamber and extrudes cylindrical blocks of conditioned clay without significant air bubbles. A deflection plate rotating with the shaft and a spiral element about the shaft keep the communication port clear. The shaft is eccentrically mounted. The dividing wall is removable.

Abstract: [Problem to be Solved] When a wood raw material is heat-pressed in order to produce a woody material or woody board, steam is generated in an interior of the wood raw material. The heat-pressed wood raw material is then decompressed with the steam staying in the interior of the wood raw material. This causes a puncture or a rupture of the woody material. The puncture occurs in the last phase of the production process, thus spoiling the entire production process. In order to avoid the puncture, the wood raw material needs to be dried completely. Abstract: The present invention provides a precision press device and a press load control method thereof for downsizing a vacuum chamber in press work in the vacuum chamber, shortening a time required to reach a vacuum and further performing high accuracy pressure control. To downsize a chamber 16, a pressure sensor is set up outside the chamber 16 and a cylinder chamber 17 is formed to allow a tubular plunger 7 to slide up and down using the tubular shape of the chamber 16. A negative pressure 22 in the chamber 16 attracts the pressurized section 2 and the pressurizing section 1 to each other, but by injecting an equivalent pressure 19 of a fluid into the cylinder chamber 17, pushing out the tubular plunger 7, the attractive forces are canceled out. It is possible to control the load on the substrate or the like transferred by the press stage with high accuracy.

In accordance with this method, substantially no gas contained in the heat insulator is diffused at the time of cutting the heat-insulating housing, and the gas can be collected at a high concentration because it is collected by being allowed to leak out at the time of compressing. Furthermore, by using the compression rollers, closed-cells in the heat insulator can be crushed easily, thereby collecting the gas completely and reliably. Thus, it is possible to collect a foaming gas contained in the heat insulator efficiently and disassemble a refrigerator at low cost without increasing the size of equipment and an installation space.

The separation of web material held on both sides under the action of a knife or the like can take place in troublefree manner, particularly without drawing in the material. The apparatus can be used with particular advantage for the continuous disposal of used stamping film in hot stamping devices.

  • Patent number: 6415713
Abstract: A rigid yard refuse bag liner for insertion into a yard refuse bag for supporting the yard refuse bag in an open condition. The rigid yard refuse bag liner is an elongated enclosure having an open bottom and having a tapered construction such that its bottom portion is wider than its top portion, which facilitates the removal of the rigid liner once the refuse bag liner/refuse bag are filled with yard refuse. To further facilitate this removal, air vents running through the enclosure permit the passage of air as the rigid liner is lifted upward, out of the yard bag. A compactor is associated with the rigid liner whereby the compactor is a planar surface coupled to a handle that the user can grasp and apply pressure to in order to compact the yard refuse that has already been collected.

  • Patent number: 6352023
Abstract: A bindery compactor and/or baler receives and compacts or bales simultaneously large particulate paper waste and pneumatically conveyed fine paper waste. The compactor and/or baler operate with a platen cycling within a chute. The platen is normally forward in the compacting position with a sealing plate attached to the platen extending to close the top of the chute and form the bottom of two waste paper receiving bins. A first of these paper waste-receiving bins is for large particulate paper waste loaded from a cart dumper or conveyor. A second of these waste-receiving bins is for pneumatically transported fine paper waste from a cyclone separator. In both bins, accumulation of paper waste occurs to a height where an electric eye triggers cycling of the compactor only when a sufficient volume of material is present for compaction and an excess volume is present for preventing pneumatically induced escape of material.

  • Patent number: 6038785
Abstract: A vacuum dryer panel for a leather drying machine wherein a dryer panel comprising a porous screen is mounted over a perforated plate on the underside of a vacuum chamber positioned above a heated drying table on which leather skins are dried. The dryer panel comprises a layer of fine mesh screen preferably formed of a synthetic resin material mounted on a porous backing preferably formed of a synthetic resin material. The backing material is adapted to be mounted adjacent an outer side of the perforated plate and provides porosity between the screen and adjacent openings of the perforated plate. The backing material is sufficiently rigid to prevent the screen material from being pulled into openings in the perforated plate by a negative pressure on the upper side of the plate, so as to prevent marks in the dried leather. The edges of the dryer panel are folded over and incorporate reinforcing strips. Threaded fasteners fit through spaced openings in the edges for mounting the dryer panel to a vacuum chamber.

Abstract: A continuous, multiple-stage process for thermally treating the surface of friction linings by pressing them against heated units and cooled units. The total length of the transport and pressing phases of each stage taken together corresponds to the continuous production cycle of the linings. • Patent number: 5890426
Abstract: A fully automated, microprocessor controlled, fiber baling apparatus for converting loose, discontinuous fibers into compressed, high-density fiber bales is disclosed. The fiber baling apparatus produces fiber bales having preselected and substantially identical masses with weight tolerances below one percent of the total bale weight. The fiber baling apparatus includes a conveyor located downstream of a fiber-forming chain, a baler having a first hopper, a second hopper mounted on a scale and a compression assembly, a bagger/strapper assembly, a bag sealer, and a bale lifting system. The fiber baling apparatus separates the fibers into separate mat portions rather than operating to form bales from a continuous stream of fibers. The separate mat portions of fiber are transported by conveyor to the baler and the fiber mat portions are weighed, precompressed, and fully compressed into fiber bales.

Abstract: A device designed to compress yard debris such as leaves, bush trimmings, and grass clippings inside a plastic trash bag without damaging the structural integrity of the plastic bag during the loading or filling process and during the compression cycle. This invention consist of four individual component parts; a hollow, smooth cylinder opened at both ends with a pair of handles at one end; a durable attachable bottom which caps one end of the cylinder; a plastic trash bag; and a flat, sturdy and durable piston which will fit inside the cylinder and which is used to compress loaded yard debris. The invention is assembled by placing the ridged, hollow cylinder inside a plastic trash bag and securing this elongated bag to the upper end of the cylinder with an elastic bungee cord of specific dimension and tension. The bottom is secured to cap off one end of the cylinder by use of two elastic bungee cords which are attached to the two handles of the cylinder.
