Abstract: The invention relates to an automatic handling and transportation device for a printer housing. The device comprises a basic mobile unit movable on a first route and at least one handling unit mounted on the basic mobile unit. The handling unit includes a support for guiding and supporting housings born on a second route parallel to a housing-bearing assembly on a printing machine, able to be aligned with the same and an grasping/holding device, adapted to hold a housing and move it on the second route between a transferral position in which the grasping/holding device interacts with the housing installed on the housing-bearing assembly, and a transportation position in which the housing, held by the grasping/holding device is on the support, and vice-versa.

Abstract: A method of exchanging a printing cylinder sleeve in a printing machine,
which printing machine comprises a central cylinder and a plurality of ink units adapted to be adjusted against the central cylinder,
each ink unit comprising a plate cylinder having a printing cylinder sleeve mounted on a mandrel, and
a detachable bearing for supporting the mandrel,
the method comprising the following steps, which are performed while the printing machine is running:
moving the plate cylinder away from the central cylinder to such an extent that a space formed between the plate cylinder and the central cylinder becomes large enough for gripping the printing cylinder sleeve,
detaching the bearing, and
withdrawing the printing cylinder sleeve axially from the mandrel.

Abstract: A device for clamping flexible printing plates on the plate cylinder of rotary printing presses can have tensioning bars provided in a recess of the plate cylinder, to which tensioning bars the ends of the printing plates can be fastened, and can also be provided with an apparatus for correcting the diagonal register of the plate cylinder by providing swivelling of the tensioning bars. The adjustment apparatus can be configured with relatively few joints and the adjustment can be done with as little play as possible and with only minimal influencing of the set values for the circumferential and lateral registers. The arrangement provides a configuration wherein at least one of the tensioning bars can be axially displaced during the swivelling of the tensioning bars in a circumferential direction within the plate cylinder.
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for a printing press, with means being provided in the press for correcting any out-of-register position of a printing plate, so as to release, after the printing plate has been clamped onto the plate cylinder, initially the tension of a rear tensioning strip, whereupon a forward tensioning strip is canted by a desired degree. Then, rear stops are moved back and the rear tensioning strip is tensioned by way of spring force. The described steps are repeated if required. Means are also proposed to noticeably reduce the sliding friction between the plate cylinder and the printing plate.
