  • Patent number: 7152527
Abstract: An apparatus and a method in which when both of two-stage type and impression cylinder connecting type sheet-fed perfecting multi-color printing presses are manufactured, there is no need for a manufacture of extra parts or an extra stock, and also the replacement and servicing of parts are easy in the event of a failure of a printing unit or the sheet-fed perfecting multi-color printing press. For this purpose, modules for the printing unit for the sheet-fed perfecting multi-color printing press, each of which consists of a combination of at least two elements of a group consisting of an intermediate cylinder, impression cylinder, blanket cylinder, plate cylinder, inking mechanism, and water supply mechanism are manufactured, and the modules are used to manufacture the two-stage type and impression cylinder connecting type sheet-fed perfecting multi-color printing presses.

  • Patent number: 6983696
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for cooling material to be printed and printing machine elements at sheet-fed rotary printing machines by means of cooled compressed air. It is an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus which requires little space, is able to cool effectively the material to be printed as well as the machine elements, which are undesirably heated by the dryers. Pursuant to the present invention, this objective is accomplished by providing an apparatus wherein cooled, compressed air is supplied over one or more sheet-guiding devices for guiding the sheets pneumatically along the sheet-guiding path, and a cooling device is disposed in the cross section of flow of the compressed air or the sheet-guiding device.

Next, the printer moves the printing paper (12) toward the feeding direction under conditions where a cutting paper holder (60) is holding the tip portion of the printing paper (12) in order to clean the cutting paper holder (60). Next, the printer cuts off the tip portion of the printing paper (12) in a long rectangular shape in order to clean a cutting edge (54) of a cutter (50). Thereby, it is possible to clean the printer (ink type recording device) without a user's action.

  • Patent number: 6732645
Abstract: In a first printing process in Steps S1 through S6, ink supply is controlled so that a measured printed density (Vn) is approximately equal to a first target density (V1). This provides a uniform amount of ink remaining on ink rollers after the first printing process. Thereafter, in a second printing process in Steps S7 through S11, printing is performed using a second target density (V2) lower than the first target density (V1). This provides a slightly reduced, uniform amount of ink remaining on the ink rollers. Thus, a novel method of presetting ink is provided which facilitates the formation of a distribution of the new amount of ink at the beginning of the next printing operation and which stabilizes the early start of printing.
