Adjustable Slots Patents (Class 104/146)
  • Patent number: 7802666
Abstract: A device for protection and handling of electric feed cables (20-20?) for mobile use, especially for a mobile device (26-26?) for lifting and moving loads such as cranes, bridge cranes and the like installed along harbour docks. The device includes a mobile frame (10-10?), made of metal or other suitable material, provided with a central tower (30-30?) connected to said mobile device and with opposite arms (32-32?), arranged in alignment on a part of a trench duct or raceway (12-12?) buried in the ground with an open top substantially aligned with the surface level (14-14?) and screened by a flexible tape (16-16?). At least one of the opposite arms (32-32?) is provided with structure for lifting the flexible tape (16-16?), arranged at the top and/or at the bottom of the tape, and structure for guiding and centering the frame (10-10?) in cross direction relative to the raceway (12-12?).

  • Patent number: 7600621
Abstract: The device for capturing electrical energy having a capturing plough-type element (10), an arm for holding the capturing plough-type element on the frame of the vehicle, a mechanism for lifting up the plough-type element and the way for electrical connection to the supply circuit of a vehicle. The plough-type element is electrically insulated in relation to the ground and the trackway. One part of the plough-type element separates two profiled part holders (23, 24) which are arranged beside each other in another opposite manner and are supported a support. The conducting elements of the lower end of the plough-type element are maintained in electrical contact, sliding along polar parts born by each part holder. Along the entire length of each part holder (23, 24), each part holder is mounted in an elastically recoiling manner such that it moves towards its adjacent opposite number with the aid of an elastic mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4702661
Abstract: A robot carrier structure constituted by a portal wagon movable on rails and laterially supported by a pair of carriages each comprising a pair of wheels longitudinally coupled by motion transmission means actuated in synchronism by an electric motor. Further the two electric motors of the pair of carriages are so connected as to constitute an electric axis. Each wheel has a structure adapted to ensure a high adherence to the rail, particularly due to the provision of a pair of rings of elastomeric material engaging the rolling surface of the rail.

  • Patent number: 4669390
Abstract: A robot carrier structure constituted by a carriage movable on rails and supported on four wheels two of which are mounted on a driven shaft and two are idle wheels. Each drive wheel has a structure adapted to ensure a high adherence to the rail, particularly due to the provision of a pair of rings of elastomeric material in engagement with the rolling surface of the rail. Engagement means movable laterally on the rail are provided to increase the adherence of the drive wheels.

  • Patent number: 4567817
Abstract: An exhaust-gas offtake for a track-guided vehicle propelled by combustion-energy, the exhaust gas being led into a force-ventilated waste gas duct located above the vehicle, which is anchored to the roof of a tunnel along the route followed. The exhaust pipe of the vehicle extends vertically through the vehicle interior, up to a point above the roof, and is surrounded by a protective tube. A collecting funnel is located on the vehicle roof, which funnel overlaps the end of the exhaust pipe, possesses a transfer pipe with a boat-shaped cross-section and, pivotably mounted on suspension elements, is resiliently directed into an upwards-pointed position. This arrangement enables small horizontal and vertical movements of the vehicle body to be compensated in relation to the tunnel waste gas duct.

  • Patent number: 4505205
Abstract: An enclosed floor track system for use with wheeled hand trucks or the like in sanitary liquid treatment chambers. An elongate wheel channel into which the wheels of the truck are disposed includes a cover comprising either a cover plate or inflatable elastomer seals to prevent liquid from entering the contaminated wheel channel. In the cover plate embodiment the wheel channel includes an elongate side slot to accommodate the wheel axle structure. The inflatable seal is split to slidably receive a wheel axle structure.

  • Patent number: 4036146
Abstract: A passenger transportation system includes a transport vehicle which travels in the interior of an elongated tunnel formed from a series of concrete modular conduits. The cross-section of the conduit interior includes a bottom surface on which the vehicle travels, a pair of spaced apart side walls, and a pair of spaced apart upper wall surfaces extending inwardly from the side walls and on opposite sides of an elongated slotted opening extending lengthwise along the top of the conduit tunnel. The transport vehicle is supported by a suspension system which includes a plurality of carrier frames, each having guide rollers traveling along the bottom surface, the side walls, and the upper wall surfaces of the conduit. The guide rollers are supported by respective biasing elements which urge the guide rollers into continuous contact with the walls of the tunnel to keep the vehicle centered in the tunnel during transit.

  • Patent number: 3995560
Abstract: In a rail transportation system, a sensor assembly is mountable on a rail vehicle for detecting, during the travel thereof, a rail obstruction which would inhibit continued and uninterrupted travel of the vehicle and for transmitting such detection to the vehicle speed control for regulating the same to thereby avoid a perilous situation. The sensor assembly includes a leashed sensor element which is guidingly propelled forwardly of the vehicle parallel to the rail at a distance required for a comfortable stop depending on vehicle speed. Travel of the sensor element is retarded upon contacting the obstruction thereby causing a reel to which the leash is connected to rewind and accordingly regulate the vehicle speed control to bring the travelling vehicle to a complete and safe stop if necessary.
