The carrying system has a cover 13 placed parallel to the track 12 to prevent entry of an obstacle into the track; the cover 13 is provided below the track 12 so as not to hinder the elevation and lowering of the article executed by the hoist 7.

  • Patent number: 6676755
Abstract: Objects, (4) especially vehicle bodies (4), are guided through a painting installation comprising at least one bath (2) in a continuous translation movement, by means of a transport device (5). Immersion devices carry the objects using a carrier structure (61) which is connected to the transport device (5) in such a way that it can be pivoted by a pivoting arm (50, 51). A first drive device (54, 55, 56, 57) causes a pivoting movement of the pivoting arm (50, 51) about a first axis. A second drive device (78, 79, 80, 81) is used to pivot the carrier structure (61) about the second axis, in relation to the pivoting arm (50, 51). One such immersion device enables very different kinematics of the immersing and emerging movement to be carried out.

  • Patent number: 6673153
Abstract: An installation for painting objects, in particular vehicle bodies, has at least one bath containing a treatment fluid in which the objects are to be immersed. The objects are guided through the installation in a continuous or intermittent translatory movement with the aid of a conveyor device. A plurality of immersion devices is provided, which support the objects with the aid of a supporting structure. The latter is connected to the conveyor device by way of a connecting structure. Each connecting structure has at least one steering linkage which in turn comprises two steering components arranged at a distance from one another. The steering components are each rotatably connected to the conveyor device at one end and rotatably connected to the supporting structure at the other end. At least one device ensures that at least one of the two steering components of the steering linkage can be rotated about the axis produced by its articulated connection to the conveyor device.

Abstract: In a travelling trolley assembly, the two side frame bars (6, 7) which extend on either side of the running rail (2) are connected to one another via two connecting columns (8). The connecting columns (8) are smooth and cylindrical on the outside are fitted into receiving or sliding-guidance devices which are formed in the side frame bars (6, 7) below the running rail (2). In order to adjust the distance between the two side frame bars (6, 7) and to fix the distance which has been set, receiving devices, through which a threaded rod (46) which is parallel to the connecting column (8) passes, are situated in the vicinity of the connecting columns (8). The distance is adjusted and fixed with the aid of screw threads (94, 95), preferably lock nuts, which rest on the connecting rod (46). This type of fixing arrangement does not damage the shape of the guide columns (8), so that dismantling is easy to carry out at any time.

Abstract: A rail support system pendent from an overhead structure is provided for supporting, lifting, and conveying material, machinery, and equipment from one location to another, and for supporting movable trolleys and traveling cranes. The rail support system includes a plurality of side rail members wherein the side rail members are disposed in opposed pairs in uniform parallel alignment thereby forming a runway section with one or more runway sections disposed in successive end-to-end relationship to form a runway track. The alignment of the opposed pairs of side rail members are maintained by spacers and clamps that are disposed between and interconnect the side rail member pairs. Trolley vehicles travel in v-shaped track guides of the side rail members, and adjacent side rail members forming each half of the runway sections are secured together by joint plates that prevent the separation of the adjacent side rail members.

The device has an upper and a lower rail, which are arranged in parallel with each other. The rails have transversely of their longitudinal direction a hollow section with a longitudinal slot on the side facing the other rail. On each of the sheets, an upper and a lower fixing element are arranged, which via the slots engage the rails. The lower fixing element has in its lowermost portion a spherical part which rests against a sliding surface in the lower rail section to enable both a sliding and a pivoting motion. Both the upper and the lower fixing element are cylindrical in the portion which extends through the slot in each rail.

Abstract: A system to control the movement of carts in an airplane. It has a set of tracks in which a set of roller wheels is placed. The roller wheels are attached to the bottom of a typical cart. A releasable locking system is used to control the cart as before. In one embodiment, the system has a cart release mechanism to remove it from the tracks for servicing and storage. The system uses a “pop-up” ramp that is embedded in the bottom of the track at specific locations. At these locations, the top of the track is large enough to allow the wheels to pass out of the track. Thus, to remove the cart, the ramps are deployed and the cart is pushed up the ramps until all four wheels have come out of the track.
