Side And Tilt Patents (Class 105/269)
  • Patent number: 6192804
Abstract: A hydraulically operated side dump railroad car that operates by utilizing high pressure hydraulic fluid from delivered by a pneumatic to hydraulic converter pump located on the railroad car. On the railroad dump car, the hydraulic fluid is pumped from a hydraulic fluid reservoir to the hydraulic ram assembly of the car, without the use of an accumulator for storing pressurized hydraulic fluid. On the other hand, an existing railroad dump car having existing pneumatic equipment can easily retrofitted with the hydraulic system of the present invention with the use of standard train air brake piston and cylinders.

  • Patent number: 5131798
Abstract: Material handling apparatus for conveying loose material into an elongated container such as a railroad car. An endless belt conveyor is mounted above and extends the full length of the container. A plurality of equally-spaced, individually, selectively operable discharge stations are disposed along the conveyor for discharging material off the sides of the conveyor into the elongated container, thereby providing for uniform loading of the car. Mechanism is provided for raising the conveyor above the container to permit pivotal side dumping of the container without engagement between the container and the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4907916
Abstract: A tool for inserting pipe piers, the method of forming such piers and a pressure grouted pier are disclosed. The tool utilizes a complementary double clamping system which allows faster pipe insertion and minimizes loading and unloading of the foundation as the pipe is driven. The tool further allows for pressurized grout to be forced through the pipe and into a volume along at least a portion of the length of the pipe to form a pier having improved stability in unstable soil.

  • Patent number: 4301645
Abstract: Tobacco plants are harvested by having an operator ride a harvesting vehicle along a plant row so that as plants are successively cut from the ground by a cutter on the vehicle, the operator may grasp the severed plant and impale the same onto an upright stake likewise carried by the vehicle. As the stake becomes loaded with plants, the operator may remove the loaded stake from its holding socket on the vehicle and lay the same on a rearwardly disposed deck. He then replaces the loaded stake with an empty stake obtained from a supply thereof carried by the vehicle, and repeats the cutting, impaling and replacement steps until a sufficiently large accumulation of loaded stakes has been obtained on the deck. Thereupon, the deck is tilted to an inclined position so as to dump the plant-loaded stakes onto the ground in a pile, whereupon the cycle is repeated.
