Abstract: A screen door module for a platform edge of a vehicle station. The module includes a leaf that moves between open and closed positions, a fixed element to which the leaf is mechanically connected and along which it slides and a sill extending under the leaf and under the fixed element. The module also includes a raiser with a predetermined height extending under the leaf and the fixed element and being arranged in such a way as to be laid on a finished ground level of the platform and so the predetermined height corresponds to a difference between the finished ground level and the floor of the vehicle when the latter comes to a standstill alongside the module. An access ramp on the platform side runs along the entire length of the module and allows access to passengers of limited mobility.
Abstract: A merchandiser for displaying items at an angle with respect to a rear panel of a display fixture is formed from flat sheets. The merchandiser has first and second side panels separated by a bottom panel along first and second fold lines that are generally parallel to each other. The first and second panels are offset from each other and may be folded toward each other to a generally parallel orientation. The merchandiser has tabs extend from a rear thereof that may be received in slots in the rear panel of the fixture to couple the merchandiser thereto. The merchandiser is reversible and may be folded into a functional form which angles to either the right or the left with respect to the panel to which they are coupled to allow customers to easily view the front of items held therein while still maintaining a high density of display.

Abstract: An air cargo container has a rolling platform for cargo personnel to stand on. The platform may be moved horizontally as the container is loaded. A latch on the platform may be used to secure the platform into a desired position. The platform may be for example 8-20 inches higher than the floor of the container, to allow cargo personnel to conveniently step up onto to the platform, and reach the upper areas of the container. With the platform adjacent to the front or back of the container, the platform may optionally be rotated from horizontal into a vertical storage position, and then secured to a front or rear post of the container.
Abstract: A method and a system control platform doors that are disposed at a distance to each other corresponding to a train to be entered via the platform. In order to actuate platform doors in a simple manner such that the door system of a platform is highly available, the platform doors are divided into a plural number of groups, that adjacent platform doors are associated with different groups. Each group may be connected to at least two controllers via one respective transfer medium, that control signals of at least one controller are transferred to the platform doors via the transfer media, such that in case of failure of one controller, the functions of the failed controller are transferred to the at least second controller.

Abstract: The device would be a metal or heavy-duty plastic retractable loading platform, designed to bridge the gap between the train car and the station platform. When not in use, the retractable platform would be retracted into a position of concealment beneath the door(s) of the train car. At the station, the device would move outward, either abutting or overlapping the station platform, just prior to the train door(s) opening.
Abstract: A railway vehicle including an access platform which extends between two lateral faces, at least one of the faces having a lateral access door. The access platform is adjacent a passenger area and includes a plate which is movable vertically so as to allow passengers with reduced mobility to access/leave the access platform from/to a railway platform of a given height when the movable plate is placed in a given embarkation/disembarkation position. Also included is a moving floor allowing persons with reduced mobility to move between said passenger area and said movable plate whatever the embarkation/disembarkation position thereof. The moving floor is located and always remains in an interior of the vehicle along with the passenger area and the movable plate between which the moving floor is located.
Abstract: A ramp assembly includes an elongated frame sized and shaped to extend between a first door and a second door aligned opposite each other on opposed sides of a vehicle; a first sectional ramp section having a first end and a second end; and a second sectional ramp having a first end and a second end. The first sectional ramp is slidably moveable along the frame from a stored position to a deployed position on either of the opposed sides of the vehicle. The second sectional ramp is positioned adjacent the first sectional ramp and is slidably moveable along the frame from a stored position to a deployed position on either of the opposed sides of the vehicle. The ramp assembly also includes a first locking mechanism coupled to the first end of each of the first sectional ramp and the second sectional ramp; and a second locking mechanism coupled to the second end of each of the first sectional ramp and the second sectional ramp.

Abstract: An elevated public transit bus system that increases the passenger capacity and decreases the passenger trip time of a fixed route bus service traveling in traffic on a city street to provide a high capacity rapid transit system. The high capacity buses are suspended above the motor vehicle traffic lanes by a support structure constructed in the lane adjacent to the public sidewalk. The propulsion system of the electrically powered buses run in a box beam from which the transit passenger cabins are suspended. The beams guide the buses along the existing fixed route service that is being upgraded to the carrying capacity of an elevated rail rapid transit system. The bus stops or lift stations of the elevated buses for passenger pick up and drop off is also constructed in the road lane next to the sidewalk. The lift stations house an enclosed movable platform that lifts passengers from sidewalk level to the floor level of the suspended bus.
Abstract: A latching mechanism for use with a raisable and lowerable folding ramp having a bridge section and a toe section, such ramp being carried on one end of a railway car. The latching mechanism comprises an arm-like member pivotally connected at one end thereof to a predetermined structure of such railway car and a latch means attached to and extending outwardly from one of the bridge section and toe section of such folding ramp. A latching head portion is disposed at a radially opposed end of such arm-like member, and the latching head portion including a means for securing the latch means. A rotatable latching member is disposed in the latching head portion to engage and lock such latch means when such folding ramp reaches a fully raised position.

Abstract: In a device for transfering especially a person sitting in a wheel-chair between a platform and a passenger department of a vehicle having a floor on a higher level than the platform a first floor surface (5) is arranged inside the vehicle closest to an entrance (2) into the vehicle from a platform side and arranged on substantially the same level as the platform. Power means are adapted to move a support surface (6) arranged inside the vehicle and reachable through the first floor surface (5) between platform level and the level of the floor of the passenger department so as to join a first floor surface and a second floor surface (10) leading to the passenger department or belonging thereto, respectively. A staircase (8) is arranged between the two levels beside the support surface (6) and directly reachable through the first floor surface (5) as well as the second floor surface (10) independently of the position of the support surface (6).
Abstract: A stationary inclined platform is positioned along the edge of a train platform such that train passengers approach the edge of the train platform will notice the sudden uphill orientation of the warning platform and will realize that they are approaching the train track area. The warning platform includes a nonskid surface and extends into the track area to bring passengers closer to the train doors. The warning platform is particular useful to visually impaired passengers and facilitates wheelchair access to the train.

Abstract: Access to a rail vehicle is effected by a board that is movable between a retracted position in which it is housed beneath the top face of the floor of the vehicle and an extended position in which it constitutes an access ramp between a platform and an entrance doorsill of the vehicle. The device includes an actuator for driving the board and a stop terminating translation of the board in its extended position. The actuator is disposed in the plane of the board. The device also tilts the board after stopping the board's movement in translation so that the outside end of the board rests on the platform and so that the board co-operates with the entrance doorsill to provide a continuous surface without any offset. The entrance doorsill remains stationary.
