Abstract: Compositions are provided for removing nail polish that include a co-mixture that consists of C2-C3 monoalcohol, glycerin, and acetone. The glycerin and the C2-C3 monoalcohol are present in a glycerin to C2-C3 monoalcohol weight ratio of less than about 0.6. The composition further includes a cellulose polymer soluble in said C2-C3 monoalcohol. The concentration by weight of water in the composition is less than the concentration by weight of glycerin.

Abstract: The invention involves the formation of a sulfided stable iron (II) compound from an iron (II) oxide and/or hydroxide and where the molar ratio of sulfur to iron (II) is greater than 1. Preferably these oxides and/or hydroxides are present as nanoparticles in the 5-10 nanometer range. It has been discovered that such particles can be formed at lower cost and with fewer impurities by using ferrous carbonate (FeCO3) from siderite as compared to known processes from various iron salts such as sulfates and chlorides.
Abstract: A composition for deposition as a coating includes a matrix material having a molten fraction of between about 33% and about 90% by volume and a filler material interspersed within the matrix.

Abstract: An anionic cellulose nitrate derivative is described, which has: (i) a degree of acid group substitution (DS (acid)) in the range of 0.01 to 0.2; and (ii) a nitrogen content of 10.7 wt. % to 12.3 wt. %, based on the weight of cellulose nitrate derivative. The anionic cellulose nitrate derivative is prepared by a process which includes esterifying cellulose nitrate feed material with at least one dicarboxylic acid anhydride (e.g., maleic anhydride). Aqueous dispersions according to the present invention include: (a) at least on anionic cellulose nitrate derivative according to the present invention; and (b) at least one base.

Abstract: A biodegradable sugar-inorganic hybrid composite comprising a sugar or a sugar derivative uniformly dispersed in a matrix of an inorganic oxide, of which degradation products are suitable for recycling use.
Abstract: The invention relates to a non-dusting homogeneous pigment composition comprising
at least 50 % by weight of one or more effect pigments,
0.1-50 % by weight of plasticizer or a mixture of plasticizer/nitrocellulose, and
0-49.9 % by weight of a solvent or solvent mixture; and to its use in paints, varnishes, printing inks and plastics.
