Furthermore, an oxide layer can be formed between the surface of the substrate and the transparent thin film for improving the stability of the transparent thin film adhering to the surface of the substrate. In addition, the process temperature according to the present invention is less than 100; and the transparent thin film according to the present invention requires no metal- or fluorine-containing precursor. Thereby, the costs for industrial applications can be reduced substantially. It is also suitable for the substrates with less temperature tolerance such as metal, nonmetal, and polymer-like substrates. Hence, the applicable industries are extensive.

By eliminating one or more of these steps from the processing of the oil, followed by hydrogenating the oil to a specified degree of hydrogenation, the resulting upgraded oils can be incorporated into products having commercial applications. The process uses a high shear mixing device and a hydrogenation catalyst. The process can utilize a single or multiple high shear devices, and utilize renewable oils instead of increasingly scarce petroleum based products. The resulting hydrogenated products may then be utilized in a variety of other commercial applications, such as to render cellulosic products water resistant, provide a coating for numerous cellulosic products, adhesive compositions, ink compositions, firelog compositions, drilling muds or asphalt modifiers.

Abstract: The present invention describes the highly advantageous properties of a mixture of thiol-perfluoropolyether (PFPE) molecules with perfluorinated bisphosphonic compounds (BP-PF). This mixture in fact makes it possible to obtain a lipophobic and hydrophobic behaviour on numerous materials, including metals, inter alia gold and alloys thereof. It makes it possible to prevent corrosion, and to limit deposition of soiling and microbiological contamination on these surfaces, while at the same time conferring good mechanical strength and resistance to ageing and to cleaning products. It also makes it possible to lubricate the metal parts that it covers.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a new liquid product that, when applied to a traffic sign face or other surfaces will protect that surface from damage caused by graffiti, weather, stickers, salt air and other contaminants. When surfaces that have been treated with this invention, most all damage can be prevented eliminating millions of dollars in savings per year and also providing life saving features to motorist because of the added protection to traffic sign faces. Other products, such as film laminates must be applied using special equipment in sign shops but with this invention, the protective barrier can be applied using simple paint rollers to signs in service along the roadway that are in vertical position and keeping the sign within federal standards.

Abstract: A release agent and method for using the same is provided. The release agent may have a high viscosity and gravity measurement and allowing for incorporation of a plurality of alternative oils and greases to be used as coating agent. Additionally, the release agent is adaptable for multiple uses by an end user as a coating agent without the need for reapplication of the release agent after every use. Moreover, the release agent may have additives such as anti-oxidants, preservatives, and emulsifiers that may allow for longer shelf life, easier coating and the like. Still further, the release agent may incorporate coloring and fragrances to make the agent more user friendly and easier to identify for coating purposes by the end user. The release agent may also incorporate freezing point depressants, anti-oxidants, emulsifiers, fragrances and solvent additives to increase shelf life and efficacy of the release agent.
