Abstract: A vertically-adjustable drafting table having a base with a pair of telescoping support columns defining an open area between the columns suitable for accommodating any of a variety of modular storage unit combinations. Vertical adjustment of the table top occurs through synchronized and counterbalanced extension and retraction of the telescoping support columns, such synchronizing and counterbalancing being achieved by mechanism housed completely within the base assembly.

Abstract: In a sliding device for a ski boot that is to be released from a safety ski binding and that comprises a supporting plate securable to the ski and a slide plate displaceable on said supporting plate against the force of at least one spring, positive guiding means for the slide plate on the supporting plate are avoided insofar that only the spring is used to hold the plates together, there being substantially line contact between the two plates in a direction transverse of the ski.

Abstract: A self-leveling dispenser for supporting a plurality of articles in a stack includes a frame and an article support platform which extends horizontally from the frame. The platform is supported in the frame for vertical movement between a pair of vertically spaced positions. At least one constant torque spring mounted in the frame is operatively connected to the platform for balancing the weight of the platform throughout its movement. And, at least one counterbalance spring is additionally operatively connected between the frame and the platform for counterbalancing the weight of articles placed on the platform with a predetermined weight to spring extension ratio or gradient.

Abstract: Self-leveling dispenser of the type having an elongated lever which serves to balance the spring and platform, with a member being adjustable along the lever for altering the ratio of effective moment arms to change the effective spring rating of the dispenser. An adjustment feature comprises felxible strands connected to opposite sides of the adjustable member. By means of a pulley surface, both strands leave the lever at the pivot point and proceed to a take-up pay-out device, shown as a dentent-controlled reel. For avoiding working against the spring during adjustment the lever concavely curves about the line of action of a tension spring acting upon the lever. In combination of these features the strands are guided by longitudinally convex surfaces of the curved member. The platform and spring loads are shown to act in one diagonal direction of a rectangular frame with the frame braced by a tension member extending in the opposite diagonal direction.
