Abstract: A multi-tiered work arrangement includes stacked horizontal planar surfaces that have footprints that enable stacking of the planar surfaces to provide work surfaces that are easily accessible to a user in both a sitting and a standing position. A first work surface can have a wide end and a narrow end, and a second work surface can have corresponding narrow and wide ends. The wide end of the first planar surface is substantially equivalent in length to the narrow end of the second planar surface such that the work surfaces can be stacked in use, providing two unobstructed work surfaces at different heights.

Abstract: The invention is directed to an intensive use furniture component having a sealing connection on a mounting surface for sealingly attaching to a floor or wall to prevent liquid from seeping under or behind the furniture component. The furniture component is formed by an outer shell having a side wall extending generally perpendicular to the mounting surface. A mounting flange is disposed adjacent the sidewall. A bolt hole is formed in the mounting flange. The sealing connection comprises a caulk channel formed as a channel in the mounting surface for receiving a bead of caulk to fill the seam between the mounting surface and the wall or floor to prevent fluid from seeping past the caulk channel to a space adjacent the interior mounting surface.

Abstract: Products manufactured from a structural laminate generally include a first elongate portion and a second elongate portion fixedly coupled together such that the layers of the structural laminate are visible on at least one surface of the products. The second elongate portion is divided to produce a cut at an intermediate position such that at least one layer of the structural laminate is removed by the cut and an intermediate layer is exposed such that it is visible on an edge of the products. Additionally, a substrate is fixedly coupled to the elongate portions in an orthogonal orientation to layers in the structural laminate of the elongate portions. In some products, portions of the structural laminate are removed to produce voids in the surface, exposing intermediate features of the structural laminate.

The base is attached to a floor surface preferably having fastener openings in the base adapted to hold fasteners recessed in the base, the fasteners extending through a floor mount surface in the base. The fastener openings may have covers adapted to close the fastener openings to prevent tampering with the fasteners.

The top flange and bottom flange have front and rear ends and tabs extending downwardly therefrom. The top flange has a reinforcing rib. When assembled with the deck beams the front and rear ends of the top flange are seated on a support ledge of the deck beams with the tabs received into respective slots. Similarly, the front and rear ends of the bottom flange are seated on a lower leg of the front and rear deck beams with the tabs received into respective slots. The tie supports cooperate with the deck beams to limit the sagging of the decks, while also preventing outward twisting of the deck beams.

In additional to a food/beverage tray, the device may also include a cup holder, which is especially useful for tailgating parties. The media station includes a central technology backbone that houses the computer hardware and media modules required for the type of monitor/media sharing desired. The technology backbone includes magnetic coupling members that increase the options for the different types of work tables that can be connected to the technology backbone dependent upon the user's needs and the size of the group. The ability to separate the work tables from the central technology backbone allows for flexibility in the styles of table used as well as the potential for cross room cohesiveness and economies of scale in unit types. When the media station is not in use, users can separate the individual work tables from the backbone and use the tables in a conventional manner.
