  • Patent number: 5367959
Abstract: A device for use in connection with scraping coatings from lottery tickets. The device includes a base surface for supporting lottery tickets for scraping off said coating therefrom, and a moat surrounding at least a substantial part of the base surface for catching the coatings scraped from the tickets. In one embodiment, an advertising display is mounted on the device, which display may be brought into view only upon use of the device. The display may be brought into view by a light source activated by use of the device in connection with the lottery tickets, such as by a switch activated by depression of the base surface, the light source thus illuminating the display upon closure of the switch. In one embodiment the base surface is pivotally mounted in the housing so that application of pressure on the surface causes one side thereof to be pivoted downwardly, causing closure of the switch.

  • Patent number: 5105485
Abstract: The present invention provides a drainboard for draining excess water from wet kitchenware into a sink set into a countertop in alternate corner and conventional installations. The drainboard preferably comprises an essentially planar member having a major portion and a sidewall portion to collect excess water on the top surface of the major portion. The planar member is pivoted about the drain and located on opposite transverse sides of the sink with the drain positioned over the sink. The outer periphery of the planar member, preferably formed by the sidewall portion, divides the planar member into a rear section and an essentially triangular front section having a pair of opposed front sides swept back from the drain to the rear section, preferably at an angle of about 90 degrees, to minimize the obstruction of the sink when the drain is positioned over the sink.

  • Patent number: 4936836
Abstract: A drain bag support assembly has a multi-sided frame with pivotally interconnected parts that are vertically rigid, yet movable in a horizontal direction to varyingly distort the configuration of the frame. One part of the frame is removably connectable to an examining end of a urological table while a second part, opposite the first, has a pair of elbow pads mounted at opposite ends thereof to provide elbow support for a urologist seated adjacent the examining end of the table. The first and second parts of the frame support an upwardly opening drain bag, and the first and second parts are pivotally interconnected by a pair of spaced side arms. Each side arm has a first side member and a second side member pivotally connected to an intermediate plate. With elbows vertically supported by the pads, the urologist can change the configuration of the frame with respect to the table simply by moving the elbows in a horizontal direction.

  • Patent number: 4843975
Abstract: A single piece, molded plastic shelf is configured with spaced channels and ribs having slots to provide upward and downward fluid communication with items stored thereon. A generally flat tray of molded plastic is provided with a flange extending upwardly around its periphery. Rib sections are spaced periodically about the tray, forming generally parallel channels to the rib sections to allow free circulation of air and free drainage of liquids from the underside of stored items. Each rib section extends upwardly a greater extent than the peripheral flange. Slots are provided in each rib section further to allow the free circulation of air or other gases while restricting drainage of liquids.

  • Patent number: 4589150
Abstract: The present invention provides a reversible drainboard that can be used on either side of a corner sink installation. In such an installation, the sink is installed in the corner formed by a pair of orthogonally connected kitchen counters at a 45 degree angle to the lengthwise sides of the counters. The drainboard has a planar member bounded by a lengthwise, tapered sidewall having a maximum height greater than the thickness of the planar member. The planar member has an oblique front edge that forms an angle of 135 degrees with a datum line parallel to the length thereof. The drainboard is operable to be reversed between positions on either side of the sink with the oblique front edge thereof in an overlying and parallel relationship with either of the sides of the sink.
