Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for padding corners of, for example, equipment housings. The device has two arms joined to each other at an angle and cheeks. The cheeks are fitted to the outside of the arms. To enable a device of this kind to be used in a variety of applications, i.e., over a wide range of housing sizes, and still remain firmly in place, each arm of the device has a honeycomblike structure designed so that it can be stretched in the lateral direction of the device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a portable computer with endurance against shock by attachment of a shock-absorber to the portable computer. The external shock to the portable computer during transport is absorbed by a shock-absorber which is attached to the portable computer so as to cover an external case, an edge part of a cover case of the external case, and an established area of a main body case.

Abstract: A system of worksurfaces for workstations and the like comprise at least first and second individual worksurfaces adapted to be supported in a generally horizontal orientation at a substantially common height. Each worksurface has a top surface, with an inner edge configured to accommodate a user thereby, and also has lateral edges shaped to abut one another when the first and second worksurfaces are positioned adjacent each other. The inner edges are elliptically contoured wherein the ellipse defined by the inner edges is substantially coplanar with the worksurfaces and is aligned with a horizontal diagonal of the workstation thereby adapting the worksurfaces to particular uses. The inner edges are variably tapered in elevation to be deeply tapered in areas of frequent user interaction and shallowly tapered in areas used primarily for storage and minimal user interaction.

Abstract: A table saw or other cutting machine includes carrying members on an underside of the work table generally adjacent the flanged table edge in order to provide an increased gripping surface area to be grasped by the operator when lifting and transporting the cutting machine. The machine is preferably equipped with invertible extension support assemblies for supporting a workpiece extending horizontally beyond the work table. Such support assemblies include support members slidably extendable horizontally on rods toward and away from the work table. A dust deflection skirt extends from a lower surface of the work table into the generally hollow dust-receiving cavity portion of a dust shroud located within the saw's enclosed base. This skirt deflects dust or chips into the interior of the hollow dust-receiving cavity. Anti-kickback spacers are preferably sealed-end blind rivets mounted on the anti-kickback pawls at intermediate locations thereon.

The table includes a rectangular bottom panel that has an upper surface, a lower surface, a front, and a back. A back panel that has a front surface, a rear surface, and a pair of ends is hingedly coupled to the back of the bottom panel and is pivotable between a deployed position and a retracted position. First and second side panels are hingedly coupled to a respective end of the back panel and are pivotable between an open position and a closed position. Each of the side panels has an inner surface and an outer surface. A pair of legs are hingedly coupled to the lower surface of the bottom panel and are pivotable between an extended position and a collapsed position.

Abstract: A lightweight, portable table includes a table top defined by upper and lower plastic shells which capture a core and an apron assembly therebetween. The core is constructed from a lightweight material such as honeycomb paperboard, expanded foam or the like. The apron assembly supports the core and includes a plurality of frame members interconnected by corners. The corners include connection elements which extend into the ends of corresponding frame members to interconnect the frame members. A folding leg assembly supports the table top above a supporting surface and is pivotable between a first, operative position and a second, inoperative position. Mounting assemblies are interconnected to the bottom surface of the core and to the frame members in order to pivotably interconnect the leg assembly to the table top.

Abstract: Attachment apparatus and methods of attachment of a cover to the edge of a horizontal surface will provide a protective and/or a decorative edge. The cover has an outwardly extending step with a groove extending into the surface opposite the cover. This groove has an opening into a wider extension into the step interior. The step is hooked over the top of the horizontal surface, the cover is pressed against the edge of the horizontal surface, and the space above the horizontal surface up to the top of the cover and the groove are filled with mortar, which locks the cover in place and provides a new upper surface. Clips, extending into the groove, can also be used to further secure the cover. If desired, an upper tile and/or a cement backing sheet can also be placed respectively on and/or within the mortar.

Abstract: A bumper assembly for covering peripheral edges of a table. The assembly includes linear bumpers securable to straight edges of a table. Corner bumpers extend between adjacent angled linear bumpers so as to protect an individual from impact against the table edges and corners. The bumpers are constructed of a substantially transparent material so as to permit viewing of the table edges therethrough.

Abstract: A file holder for holding a plurality of file folders, wherein a support surface and a plurality of perpendicularly extending side panels have a hemmed support edge and a hemmed panel edges, respectively. The hemmed support edge and the hemmed panel edges provide structural strength to the file holder while providing a file opening which has increased space for the easy insertion and extraction of file folder and a file holder with relatively smooth surfaces that do not catch or tear the file folders. The file holder also has a plurality of dividers which are secured to the support surface and a back wall and which provide additional structural support when a file holder is stacked on another file holder or other shelving. The file holders are constructed with attachment holes and nesting members so that multiple file holders can be stacked on one another. The support surface may also include a file retainer that is substantially perpendicular to the front edge of the file folder.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a merchandise retaining assembly for the safe storage, viewing and access to merchandise on a store shelf, including a pair of vertically extending posts having an upper end and a lower end, the posts being attachable to a store shelf by securement means, a lower elongated rigid gripping member having a pair of elongated gripping portions facing toward one another and biased toward one another, and an upper elongated rigid gripping member having a pair of elongated gripping portions facing toward one another and biased toward one another. A securement bolt arrangement is provided for attaching said lower gripping member to said shelf. A flexible mesh screen is arranged between the upper and lower gripping members, and securement hooks are arranged for attaching the upper gripping member to the upper end of the posts, so as to provide a secure readily removable, replaceable boarder to a store shelf, protecting store customers and merchandise alike.

Abstract: A combination hearth seat and child protector includes a rigid internal frame consisting of a top and front piece having a first layer of stiff foam adhered to the upper surfaces of the frame. A fire retardant material covers the foam and surrounds the entire frame. The protector is dimensioned to extend the entire long length of the hearth, while extending 3/4 to 2/3 of the short length of the hearth from the edge opposite the firebox therein. In a second embodiment, the internal frame includes side pieces. A second layer of foam surrounds the first layer of foam and also extends about the underside of the end pieces. The fabric is then placed about the second layer of foam. The side pieces have a beveled end that fits over the sides of the hearth. The compression of the second foam layer and the beveled end pieces combine to create a compression or snap-on feature to keep the seat snugly thereon. The second layer of foam may extend about the underside of the front piece as well.

Abstract: A backsplash is configured for a stable and permanent attachment to a countertop surface. The backsplash has a substantially elongated flat member which has a front face and a back face. The elongated member has extending from it near its bottom a first thin base ledge, a second thin base ledge, and a gripper flange. The first base ledge extends at a substantially right angle from the front face of the elongated member. The second base ledge extends at a substantially right angle from the back face of the elongated member, opposite the first base ledge. The gripper flange extends vertically from the flat member. A recess in the countertop surface is configured to frictionally receive the gripper flange and to also receive the first and second base ledges. An adhesive is used with the base ledges to augment the holding force of the gripper flange. A scribe ledge optionally extends from a top edge of the elongated flat member as an aid in installation to get a flush fit against a room wall surface.

The angle between the leg and the bottom of the seat is selected such that the top of the seat will be horizontal when the bottom of the seat is placed on the top of the bumper of a vehicle. The seat is ideally suited for golfers, hunters and other sportspersons who need to change shoes when leaving and returning to the vehicle. The seat may also be used at "tailgate" parties by persons desiring to sit during the party. When folded, the seat can be conveniently stored in the vehicle's trunk or other storage area. The leg may include a foot rest support for the user's feet to more conveniently change shoes or for comfort.

An inner frame is connected by one leg thereof to the longer leg of the outer frame and contacts with a further leg thereof the underside of the core plate. The adhesive is protected by a removeable tape which is discarded as the bumper is affixed to a selected object.

The desk work surface is thereby provided with a nosing to protect the desk work surface and users thereof.

The countertop comprises a normally elongated rectangular section of plastic solid surfacing material having an elongated dado. A bottom surface of the backsplash and coved lip is specifically sized and shaped for placement adjacent to and insertion into the dado of the countertop whereby a curved transition is defined between the top horizontal workspace surface of the countertop and the front face of the backsplash. The bottom surface of the backsplash and coved lip is affixed in place in the dado with the use of a color matching adhesive. Once the adhesive has set, the seam is finished with a light sanding with progressively finer abrasives.

At the same time the felt covering on the lower surfaces aids in preventing the lap top game table from sliding off of the laps of the users. When not in use the lap top table may be folded in half for compact storage.

The stop member can be manually displaced from either position by a slidable lift pin manually movable into the groove from below the table and into contact with the underside of the stop member in the groove.

It is supported by an underlying base and has a flat unedged surface-providing sheet supported by the base and having an edge including a peripheral recess, a preformed elongated edge facing with a rearward extending tongue which fits into the recess, and adhesive for directly bonding the sheet to the edge facing through their adjacent surfaces in the recess. The countertop sheet and the edge facing are made of materials which are impervious to moisture penetration, impact and scratching, including natural stone, synthetic stone-like material, ceramic, concrete, glass-like sheets, agglomerated stone, cement materials, metal or terrazzo. They may be made of the same or contrasting materials, so that the edge facing and the countertop present appearances which are the same or consistent with each other. In some embodiments, an underlying substrate will also be used to support the countertop sheets.
